I was WAITING for you to react to this one! Adam Rupp is doing all that high guitar sounds at the beginning and the high harmony in the bridge as well as all that cool vocal percussion in the rest of the song. Their stuff just makes me SO happy.
Once you hear Adam go from high harmony whistle to boom bass then flow right back into the beat, you realize what a dangerous pied piper THAT man is. We get the added bonus of watching him do his sorcery in the background this time. 🔥🙌🏻
The Doobie Brothers used guitars, drums, keyboards, vocals and other instruments to create this iconic song and 50 yrs later HF made it a classic once again using only Adam and their own vocal talents. Love all the new sounds Adam added. That high note he did at the beginning and in the breakdown is so beautiful. He looked like he was having so much fun in this one and am glad to see the bandanas are back. Now react to their newest one called Brother if you haven't already.
YESSSSS!!! Getting audience feedback/participation makes the entire experience better for the audience AND the musicians. It actually gives you energy when performing, to hear that kind of reaction. It is a major reason we do this stuff, to entertain.
Jarvis you are, bar none, my FAVORITE reactor!! So authentic and knowledgeable! It’s obvious that you find joy in music. Of course, Home Free never EVER fails to deliver! And you’re right, no way you listen to this one without clapping or dancing. So much fun!! I can’t wait to see them live here in Seattle next month. 😃
YES!! I've been waiting to see your reaction to this one!! Talk about a banger! Love your reactions to Home Free as usual!!💞 BTW, that "high harmony"...that really high pitch during the slow part...was Adam!! Yes...the beatboxer was hitting that crazy high part. Pretty amazing, right?! And Yes...definitely makes you feel good! Again, really great reaction...loved it!💞
YES! YES! YES!!!!! So glad you got to this one! It's fantastic! I just KNEW you were going to be smiling! The high notes floating on the top was Adam! He is simply brilliant! Remember that floating high tenor note in How Great Thou Art? Thank you so much Jarvis, your breakdowns are wonderful and I appreciate you! Sending love from South Georgia ♥️😀🍟🤘
Once again…I love that you hear every little detail that the untrained ear misses and then you break it down for the listener. Ultimately, I love “how” you love it. Great Job Homefree! Great Job Jarvis!
Your enthusiasm, attention to detail and just pure joy are infectious. Hope the Homefree guys know what a great job you're doing of championing their talent. Awesome job, as always. A joy to watch you watch.
In case you didn't know Adam Rupp is a Jazz Drummer. I suspect this plays a large part in how authentic his vocal percussion sounds are. Now add in his growth as a vocalist (those high tones) and he just continues to impress me more and more over time. Of course that is not even getting into the four other incredible artists that make up this group.
Love how excited you get in regards to the details that, as lay people, we don’t “hear”. I mean…we hear them but our ears don’t break them down and appreciate them specifically. We love it as a whole while you love each and every detail the guys bring to this!! Much respect!! 🥰. Can NOT wait to see your reaction to “Brother”!! The Bearded Rob with his GORGEOUS falsetto MADE it for me!!
I grew up on classic rock & am a big fan of the Doobie Brothers & had their albums. "Listen To The Music" was a big hit for them back in 1972. Love that Home Free is keeping this great music alive & introducing it to the younger generation. The guys did a really nice job of this song. Austin was great for the lead & loved the background harmonies of Rob, Chance & Tim's bass. Adam killed it on the vocal percussion again. He always comes up with some new & interesting sounds. Adam is doing the high notes as you can see in the slowed down section.
Man I just discovered you while looking for Home Free. Enjoy your reactions a lot. I love Home Free, honestly, how can you not love them. I'll be checking you out, God Bless ✌️❤️🙏
I always love your reactions and how you explain everything where it's easily understood. But most of all, I love your insight, opinions & energy!! This song and video gave me the same feelings that it did you. I can't listen to it without a smile on my face and true appreciation for their talent and techniques. Thank you so much for a terrific reaction!!
I don't know if you've had the chance to see much of the fan videos of these guys performing live - they absolutely want the crowd singing along, having a party. Obviously the sound quality isn't the same as the music videos, but even recorded on a mobile phone, you can see and hear just how much fun and energy they bring to the stage. If you have the time, maybe look up songs you've already reacted to, and just enjoy.
As a former barbershop performer, I like how you almost get A Capella. We (and I say "we" haven't done it for a few decades) can sing 5 parts with 4 voices due to reinforcement of overtones. We call it, "Ringing a Chord". The human voice is amazing.
Jarvis, you are fantastic. Every time I come here, you add immeasurably to my enjoyment of the music. Home Free is the hook, you are the fishing rod, reel, and line. Thank you for reviewing this song. Wait 'til you hear "Brother."
Jarvis, your Home Free analyses are my favorite! SOOOO exciting & educational! These guys just can't be topped! I can't wait for you to react to their newest release, "Brother", a cover of the Contemporary Christian group, "Need to Breath"! It's beautiful but also incredible fun as only Home Free can bring us! Thank you for your amazing reaction!😊
The high harmonies floating above the the melody in the background when there is no vocal percussion ... the reason there is two voices in that floating harmony is because Adam Rupp is a tenor. You almost never get to hear him sing so it's always a surprise when he fills with a vocal instead of percussion. It makes you go where the hell did the extra voice come from?
I just love home free. They are the only group, that can take a song i hate. And make me love it.. i dont even understand why.. i think these guys could sing the phonebook and it would still be great. 😄
What a song!! And your reaction made it even MORE captivating! You clearly know music from the basement to the penthouse. Your commentary is excellent! Thank you for a fantastic reaction!
WOW!!! This is one is awesome... I have not heard this one yet, thanks for sharing!! I have been fans of Home Free for years, since they were on the show "Sing Off" and won that competition! Love this song!!! I don't know if you like doing reactions to new groups, but I thought I'd share this video with you. The name of the group is "Chapel Hart", 3 ladies ... 2 are sisters and 1 is their cousin, from Mississippi.... OMG! They were on America's Got Talent recently and the judges were so impressed, they got together and gave them a group golden buzzer! They wrote the song in response to Dolly Parton's "Jolene" song from the 1970's... it was a hit on the show, that's why they got the special golden buzzer. Anyway, apparently Dolly Parton saw the show and reacted to it on Twitter, Loretta Lynn commented that she wondered what they could do with one of her songs, and Darius Rudker has a spot on his new CD for them.... that was already in the works.... but the best thing is, they now have a debut on the Grand Ole Oprey in September... not bad from one audition. If you want to watch that, here's the link... ua-cam.com/video/WLKmDbDv6j0/v-deo.html I don't know if you can do reaction videos to America's Got Talent.... that is the link, so watch it if you can't react to it, okay? They do have a You Tube channel as well, there are 3 songs that I really like, they are all original songs they wrote... very talented ladies from backwoods of Mississippi : "American Pride" ua-cam.com/video/DjfMEE2krr4/v-deo.html and "Made for Me": ua-cam.com/video/XLmoCC24wH0/v-deo.html "Country Paradise": ua-cam.com/video/AD2oYElrZTs/v-deo.html Hope you like them.... enjoy!
I love this reaction so much! This is such a great performance by HF and Adam R is just insane with his talent. Add your joy to the mix and we have a party! Well done!
This is simply excellent again!! I have been a fan of the Doobie Brothers for a long time. This song is just timeless. It still swings. Really something for Home Free. So great sung, so great harmonies, bone-feeling bass, but for me it's Adam who makes it truly phenomenal. He nailed it!! The vocal percussion/vocal sounds is just inhumane. So unbelievably good. For me the very best beatboxer/vocal percussionist/mouth artist there is. And I haven't even mentioned his appearance yet. 😊😉 He's so handsome. I do like that he has his hair a bit longer again and then with that bandana on. Love it, love Home Free💖
If you have the opportunity to go to a Home Free concert, you would find the fans thoroughly engaged. Their shows are absolutely amazing! On top of that, they are the nicest guys you could ever meet.
This was absolutely one of my favorites by them.. Their Harmony and their talent are Beyond this Universe.. Love you my Boys Love you Home Free... Most talented acapella group I've ever heard.. I've been listening to them since they started their career that's quite a few years.. They never Disappoint... Hats off to you Mr Adam Rupp my God that is so impressive..
Adam Rupp the beatboxer was doing the high note. Check them at the end when they are together you can see him doing it. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
This is so much fun. If you aren't smilin' and dancin' somebody needs to check you for signs of life. And every time I watch it I find some new amazing thing. Love your reaction and your message at the end.
This is such an awesome song by the Doobie Brothers and, of course, Home Free does it again! Just when you think they can’t do another favorite cover! This one is so fun and you can’t just sit still for it. I am so glad they also showed Adam so much during this one too, doing his percussion! Another great one for the playlist! You need to watch the new one too, ‘Brother’! Thanks, I really enjoy your enthusiastic reactions!😊❤️
I think I have found a kindred spirit.....finally someone who 100%, thoroughly, without a doubt enjoys music with a passion that seems to be boundless!! I have been a Home Fry since day 1....these guys are beyond phenomenal!! Then to hear you break it down the way you do so that even those who aren't musically inclined (I'm a keyboard player...been playing off and on for 50+ years) can relate to what's happening?? Dude!! I'm hooked!! New sub....i will be back.
Sounds we typically haven't heard!!!! A "Showcase" of Mr. Rupp I believe ...... He's the high tones and the techno? bass drop/slide ....... along with his amazingly incredible "regular" skills. All of it -- So damn good. Be Safe
Thank you for this! They are so amazing! Did you notice that Adam was doing the high high vocal? You can see him do it in the breakdown scene. Loved the reaction!
I knew you were going to be one happy man when you heard this one because Adam just flat out nailed it throughout! I agree, if people aren't chair dancing at the very least with this video, we might need to check them for a pulse. It amazes me every time the sheer number of vocal sounds Adam will make in the course of a song and the sounds he uses that you wouldn't expect him to add like the scratching in this one. But he's got that incredible ability to know what will ultimately sound awesome! So good to see you back! Wishing you safe travels as you go on about the life on the road! ❤
Hahaha, love, love, LOVE your energy, man! Not only is it just fun to watch and listen to Home Free reimagine one of my all-time favs, but your analysis is on point!. Can't wait to watch/hear more from this channel!
Loved the reaction. The knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate your view to others. Now part of my view , I do not care if they use instruments or not, their arrangement , personal abilities and the performance, were superb! As an old fart, I do not usually care for what current artist do when they re-work songs from my nostalgic youth. However this was stellar and if they sold physical records still, I would go to the store and buy this for my collection. Damn I miss record stores !
Some takeaways from your comments: 'unmatched,' 'amazing,' 'freakin' incredible,' 'perfectly executed.' Which is why Home Free is my fave. Huge thumbs up. ;)
Always look forward to your analysis - you do such a great job! Thank you. I am sure others have recommended “Ain’t Goin Down til the Sun comes up” - on their Facebook page. Would love to hear your reaction to that one …… Adam is off the charts on it!
If you go and see them live, Tim will always say that this isn't a concert, it's a party and we should all act accordingly. They want people to enjoy themselves and get immersed in the music, be a part of it. Tim has also spoken about some of their corporate gigs, where he said that everyone there was "polite". The concert I went to, people were on their feet, clapping and singing along, it really did feel like one big party.
This song - there is no way you can help but wiggle and be happy! I love how they took it a bit from the 70's to the 80s feeling with this (I also love the videos where they look like they are really enjoying the song) These guys are just amazing and they carry the same energy live it's just so cool I'm waiting very impatiently for them to announce another Colorado show. - side note I stumbled on your reactions this past weekend and promptly subbed - love how you take on the musicality not just the voice! I've a new subscriber suggestion as I've not seen it in the videos listed - Everybody Walking This Land -- it's very much a goosebumps gets to you song, Take care!
Celtzen, you are in for a treat. He's one of the best reactors out there. Enjoy the catchin' up you've got ahead of you. He's awesome. And most of us learn a little somethin', regardless of our previous level of musical knowledge. He makes it quite understandable in a fascinating and entertaining way that helps us learn without realizing we're being schooled a little bit. Have fun and welcome to the Jarvis party!
Jarvis….I just love you. You hear everything and explain everything so well. I loved Adam doing the drums, those crazy notes and the scratching. Loved Tim’s low notes and those harmonies. Home Free killed this rendition. So much fun! Have a great week!🥰😍
I love how Adam and Tim drop just enough 'not drum" and "not bass guitar" into their licks to remind us that this is a cappella, oh, and crab scratches. You pointed out the 'gang slides" that I first noted in "Man of Constant Sorrow". Brilliant.
You might like taking a look at Tim Foust's and Austin Brown's solo channels as well (if you haven't already). Austin Brown does a very emotional version of bring him home. Pentatonix also has a more current version of Hallelujah from the last one you reacted to (it was after Avi left the band). I think you'd enjoy that newer version as well, although it's a couple years old by now. Chris Rupp who was one of the founding members of Home Free (you see him in the earlier videos), but left a couple years ago for a solo career has a channel worth checking out as well. There is a song called Movin' On that Chris Rupp did on his own channel by himself and he also did while he was with home free which is on their channel as well. It's a very moving song. Chris and Adam also do a song called Angles among us on Chris' solo channel which is quite moving.
You are hands down my favorite reactor!! So refreshing to listen to a reactor who knows what he’s talking about and is also a musician. You are great and I love Home Free too…. Can’t get enough of all their “amazingness”, if that’s even a word! LOL! Oh and yup I was smiling too 🎼❤️
wow. Austin's voice was soaring so strong in this he could have knocked drones out of the sky, and Rob and Chance's harmonies were as rich and tasty as a Thanksgiving dinner, Tim's beautiful bass was inspired. Adam's beat boxing/vocal percussion out of control, next level. He's always adding new and exciting elements to his repertoire. So much fun. Leave it to Home Free to take a gem and polish it into precious jewels. Loved the cover. Love Home Free. Thanks for another great, insightful reaction.
🔥🙌🏻
Adam Rupp is out of this world talented. They all are.❤
Adams a Beast 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Truly The Best Explanation between a Singer In a Band Accapella, and Vocal Band imo
You got it. Your ending comment was exactly what The Doobie Brothers were looking for.
😊😊😊 ************YOUR REACTIONS MAKE MY HEART SMILE, THANK YOU!************* 😊😊😊
You should see Rob and Austin singing Nessun Dorman. Who knew they could see opera.
Yesss incredible attention to detail HF has ! 😊😊😊😊 It's what makes them the best
Sept. 2023- I love your channel. You are so intelligent with your explanation.. you are the best.
The high sound is Adam!!
If you played this for someone who didn't know it was a cappella, that person would never think it was a cappella.
YESSSSS!!! Getting audience feedback/participation makes the entire experience better for the audience AND the musicians. It actually gives you energy when performing, to hear that kind of reaction. It is a major reason we do this stuff, to entertain.
Adam Rupp Has been a Drummer for a long, Long time. That's why he'd so Good at making those Sounds. They are all Perfection !!!!❤
You missed one by Home Free. This one was done during quarantine. It's titled..Meet In The Middle..Hope to see your reaction soon. Thanks! Martha
I agree that ain’t Goin down would be a great reaction or given you comments, Everybody Walk-in This Land
Love Home Free. They are like Home cooking, you can't get enough of them. Voices like angels, and pure love ❤ thank you
Jarvis you are, bar none, my FAVORITE reactor!! So authentic and knowledgeable! It’s obvious that you find joy in music.
Of course, Home Free never EVER fails to deliver! And you’re right, no way you listen to this one without clapping or dancing. So much fun!! I can’t wait to see them live here in Seattle next month. 😃
100% agree.
Your insight combined with your enthusiasm was great. Great fun indeed. You got a new subscriber.
Yes!❤
As a drummer I knew you would appreciate Adam Rupp on this one. He simply killed it.
Once again…I love that you hear every little detail that the untrained ear misses and then you break it down for the listener. Ultimately, I love “how” you love it.
Great Job Homefree!
Great Job Jarvis!
Their spirit is infectious!!!
I love this song 'cause it's all about the music which is universal!!! HF does it justice!
Love your comments and positivity!!
Your enthusiasm, attention to detail and just pure joy are infectious. Hope the Homefree guys know what a great job you're doing of championing their talent. Awesome job, as always. A joy to watch you watch.
Just get better and better 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Adam on those high notes is everything!!!!
This is a definite feel good bop. Adam Rupp is going wild! I dare anyone to listen to this and not smile.
Man I just discovered you while looking for Home Free. Enjoy your reactions a lot. I love Home Free, honestly, how can you not love them. I'll be checking you out, God Bless ✌️❤️🙏

This is definitely one of their best!! I love how you acknowledge their amazing talents❤️

I love this reaction so much! This is such a great performance by HF and Adam R is just insane with his talent. Add your joy to the mix and we have a party! Well done!
Adam learned to play the drums and other instruments so he would have the knowledge he has of them. Plus he's doing those high notes
This is simply excellent again!!

WOuldn't this make an awesome concert opener? Set the tone, start people off on an excited happy sound, etc.
If you have the opportunity to go to a Home Free concert, you would find the fans thoroughly engaged. Their shows are absolutely amazing! On top of that, they are the nicest guys you could ever meet.
How much fun was that ?
Great reaction as always.
Their arrangements are PHENOMANAL
The breakdown and the "scratching" are my favorite parts of the song.
This is one of my favorite songs from the 70’s. These boys just did an amazing job with it. So happy to see you back, and what a great reaction!!!
I never get tired of listening to Home Free. I've seen this one a few dozen times. Over and over again. Ear candy for sure!
Adam is THE best (VOCAL PERCUSSIONIST) rather than a beat boxer. The man is beyond talented!❤❤❤❤
Love your reactions to Home Free! I love them and you so much! It keeps this old woman going every night!💕❤️
This song gives me chills every time I hear it. I enjoy your passion for music in your reactions! Keep on doing you!
Lazzrus! Appreciate you checking it out more to come for sure 😊
I saw it and heard it, and I still can't believe that those synthesizer sound are coming from Adam Rupp. These guys are off the hook!
I believe Adam Rupp is hitting those E5 notes at the top of those slides.
My goodness!!! This is by far the BEST they've EVER done IMO. Home free is no joke. Thank you for this reaction.
yesss! soooo good!
Dude!! Let the music play! Home Free is the best--and Adam Rupp's vocal percussion is just beyond belief❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Thank you for giving vocalists some love as musicians/instrumentalists!
I just so much enjoy watching the enjoyment and appreciation of Home Free talent roll across your face...you make it so fun again
I just learned this recently & thought I’d share…Adam actually plays the drums…but didn’t this just make you so HAPPY 😃
I LOVE, love, love your facial expressions when you're listening.
I knew you were going to be one happy man when you heard this one because Adam just flat out nailed it throughout! What a performance - you and Home Free! So much energy. Love all your reactions to my very favorite band - vocal or otherwise. Love Home Free!
Hahaha, love, love, LOVE your energy, man! Not only is it just fun to watch and listen to Home Free reimagine one of my all-time favs, but your analysis is on point!. Can't wait to watch/hear more from this channel!
their new song "brother" is brilliant, well worth a listen
ooooo can't wait
Loved the reaction. The knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate your view to others. Now part of my view , I do not care if they use instruments or not, their arrangement , personal abilities and the performance, were superb! As an old fart, I do not usually care for what current artist do when they re-work songs from my nostalgic youth. However this was stellar and if they sold physical records still, I would go to the store and buy this for my collection. Damn I miss record stores !
I agree.....they always make me SMILE 😁!!!! Check out their cover of "Can't Stop The Feeling" and of course "Brother". I always enjoy ur reactions. 👍
Home free are such an awesome group!!! I love them.
Some takeaways from your comments: 'unmatched,' 'amazing,' 'freakin' incredible,' 'perfectly executed.' Which is why Home Free is my fave. Huge thumbs up. ;)
I just love your reactions! Thank you
I haven’t heard this song in over 20 years! Love this song. They take me back to happier days. Thank you guys for that gift.
@@wendischambach6181 I may have binged through a good half of the reactions (with all the Home Free) over the weekend :-P
This is incredible…….these guys are so at the top of the tier.
Flawless! Adam Rupp to me shined the brightest on this awesome cover!
Your explanations have changed how “hear” this acapella forever, thank you!
You are hands down my favorite reactor!! So refreshing to listen to a reactor who knows what he’s talking about and is also a musician. You are great and I love Home Free too…. Can’t get enough of all their “amazingness”, if that’s even a word! LOL! Oh and yup I was smiling too 🎼❤️
your one of my favorite reactors, thanks for your insight
Love your breakdown!! Their video and voices makes me smile!! I agree with you!
Love this song. Such a feel good song. Home Free kills it again.❤️
I always love watching you react to Home Free's performances! Thanks for sharing your knowledge of music!
Glad you like them truly appreciate you checking it out! 😊
Actually that sky high harmony was done by Rupp.
Jarvis you were missed !!! But good you were busy !!! You just knew they'd kill this !!! I'd say one of my top 3 songs from Home Free
