40 Days to Cebu City. Retired with a 70% Pension, with Social Security available in 2025. Going to the Philippines allowed me to Retire at 62, THREE years earlier than planned. Healthcare is less expensive... Apples-to-Apples... Than my Current "Share-of-Costs"... One Month of COBRA Coverage will pay for Six Months in PH. Now, after a Six Month stay, if I need it: I do have an Escape Plan that will put me back in a Benefited Position, with another Pension after Five Years & Lifetime Medigap Coverage.
You're going to get some great reactions to all that money! Two years later, 'they'll never trick me' (your pension is gone)... 'I own land in Mindanao, but my wife/girlfriend is worried for me to see it as it might be a little dangerous' (you own fk all and you never did and your w/gf and her entire family is laughing at you). It's all less expensive, friend, until you have to start paying for it. I doubt this idiot 'Bull' has ever been to Asia, but if he has, and especially in the Philippines, he's clueless.
As for me, from California, i grew up with mild epilepsy, has surgery to cure it. But no 100% in a company eyes, so a financial liability. And bad eyesight, didn't want to drive a car, motorcycles ok. So usa not for me. 2008 i left for adventure, freedom and opportunities. 2008 was the fc. From korea, Taiwan, Vietnam i worked, lots opportunities and freedoms. Built beachfront house in Vietnam 2023. Traveled over 50 countries even after building house still 150k. saved just by teaching. I do small things on side also. My advice if life is hard, look nationally or internationally for best opportunities and resources for you!
When asking yourself "why" it also pays to remind yourself that the next year of your life is the best year you have left. The next five years are the best five years you have left. Do you really want to give the best 5 years you have left to an employer and save the dregs for yourself? NO. Take those years and make them yours. If you have to also arrange your elder care in asia, to make it affordable now, then do that. Don't waste the remaining best years you have
Yes, the women, but I am on a VA pension and the PI has the only VA clinic outside the US some getting my healthcare is easier. Elsewhere I get reimbursed, in the PI, I get can get my drugs mailed to me and there are some hospitals that will directly bill the VA. Thailand, Poland, and Columbia...that isn't and option. Also I want to live in a more urban environment...so city life. BCG, Makati, Iloilo my kind of place.
Decades of Canadian winters, living alone for years after a divorce and estrangement from adult children. Retired early a few years ago in my mid 50's, I wanted some sense of adventure while still healthy. I am starting in PH but have the means and desire to travel to other SE Asian countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Cambodia. Had a house to sell so why not? Sit here and get older when I am free to do as I want and try something new? Easy choice to make actually. Freedom and debt free is the key, along with ample resources. I've already travelled to over 20 countries and adapting to new environments is something I've done a few times in my life already, so not such a big deal.
I agree with you 100% JJ. I’m very familiar with Asia spent a couple years when I was in the military traveling around Asia quite a bit for my job in the military, which won’t go into but now that I’m fully disabled from the military collecting Social Security disability as well living in Florida is beautiful. It’s great. It’s exciting, but it’s expensive. There are a few places that are cheaper in the United States but they’re not place. I wanna live my dream a long time ago back in the 90s actually when I was in the military was to retire in Thailand or you know someplace like that and realizing that I wasn’t gonna have healthcare after my after I became disabled and most of those countries, but yes, in the Philippines, that is my goal and get that visa permanent visa I’m hoping to be there shortly after it’s all my finances. I am working debt-free before I go.

Hey JJ love your channel. I’m in my mid 70s, newly widowed. I’m in really good shape. I go to the gym 3 to 4 days a week, minimum walk 2 miles a day a lot younger than I am. I have a masters degree and financially secured. I am fortunate that I will not outlive my income. I’m looking for peace and quiet without any political issues and just would like to live a nice quiet life. I would be looking for a woman in her late 30s 40s. I will be going to the Philippines in February after the rainy season. Would like to live in BGC. I rent to be extremely reasonable. What say you?
@@JosephPerez305 sounds like a great plan. If you can come in December you will enjoy the best weather here through February. Plus you'll get to see BGC in all its Christmas luster. Thanks for watching.
I’m a long time subscriber, thanks for your videos, I just turned 73, in good health, thin, and get my Pension & S.S. But I can barely afford to live here in USA New York. I’m Divorced a year now, very unhappy, struggling, and lonely, dating here is Dead !! And affordable housing is out of reach at this point. I just want to come there find a loving young woman and live a peaceful life, I don’t care to travel much, I don’t drink, so you think I’m too old ?? It’s extremely depressing here, plus I don’t even have family here. I like where you are and I so far like what I see on videos in Cebu, I don’t want country life. So what do you think, I’ve ridden a Harley most my life until a couple of years ago, had back surgery but fine now mostly, a bit of sciatica, but that’s all. Will I find a younger loving Loyal woman??
