JJ, in the grocery stores when you ask about something and they immediately say, “sorry sir, out of stock” it’s usually because they have no idea what that item is, so to save face, they just say that. Best to take a picture of the item and show them that pic from your smart phone. Half the time it eliminates that “little white lie” they resort to.

I really like this series of videos, JJ. The only suggestion would be for visual minded people, like when you were talking about the begging kids, do a split screen or over lay so we can see it. They say a picture is worth 1000 words.
I get fresh beef from the local wet market for 430p a kilo, I slow cook it in a crock pot type slow cooker. Eating out in the Philippines is very overpriced and not good food.
As an American, I was a victim of Saturday morning cartoons programming-I thought roosters only crowed at sunrise. Then I went to the Philippines and was abruptly de-programmed by the constant crowing of MANY roosters at all times of the day, night and middle of the night, all the way through sunrise and into the next day! 😳 Those roosters were a complete “myth-buster” 🫤

It's not necessarily things you can develop immunity to (eg amoebiasis, a form of dysentery that's widespread in the Philippines - 80-90% of people are naturally immune but if you're not, you never will be, and if you don't get prompt treatment in hospital it can kill you).
