Your reasons to live in BGC are spot on and the rent for your condo is very reasonable. My idea of retirement does not include living in the province just because other people "think" it's cheaper, IT IS NOT when you factor in convenience/ life style. Best of luck with your move.

I spent 6 months in Baguio. Had a nice studio apartment right by city bus/ Jeepney terminal. GREAT weather and didn’t need AC and rarely even a fan. Kind of in between province life and BGC life. My ENTIRE monthly cost including nice food (always ate out) transportation, utilities etc was less than your rent. I’ll be back in BGC and Tagaytay for awhile next month. There are so many options in the Philippines….

I just paid $500k for a 2 bedroom, 5th floor ( current rescue trucks/ equipment cannot save you above 5th floor) at Mandani Bay, Mandaue, Cebu City. When I start missing the beautiful morenas here, I come back to my condo in Cebu.
@@JJthelonelybullinasia I can only think of a place to "dump" the SRRV deposit if you don't want to keep it in a bank account, depreciating... @@JJthelonelybullinasia This is one of the reasons to buy a condo for some SRRV holders that must keep 25K USD deposit in a PH government approved bank account.
