- Prosecutors argued Thursday before opening statements that the accused Waukesha Christmas parade attacker Darrell Brooks is mentally competent despite his numerous outbursts in court thus far. On Thursday, he was removed from the main courtroom and muted due to multiple interruptions. He then proceeded to take off his shirt, appeared to attempt to throw a shoe, and threatened to throw and break things.

I see it at the middle school level, to a certain extent. Kids try and manipulate adults, and some allow it. You hope they grow out of it, otherwise they end up like Brooks(hopefully not killing people, but trying to continue to manipulate.)

his narcissism really showed itself when he showed the photos to Erika Patterson. He knew that his jail phone calls were recorded and listened to by the prosecution; they mention it in this video, he mentions it numerous times... yet he somehow thought that they wouldn't listen to the one where he told his mother to send him the photos, rather than the lie he told when he said that Erika sent them? and even after he was caught out, he still proclaimed that was a lie. As if they couldn't whip a subpoena up in 5 seconds flat for the phone call and then have it played for the court less than an hour later
Mr Brooks has absolutely no respect for women at all. How he has treated his ex & his own mother was abusive. Having a women Judge and Prosecuting attorneys is his karma.

Just because someone is an asshole does not mean they are mentally incompetent. He was competent enough to question witnesses. Competent enough to try and flirt with the judge (yeah, that happened - it was disgusting). He was competent enough to use this entire trial as a way to make his ex girlfriend uncomfortable and to paint himself as a victim. The evidence was overwhelming. He wore a mask when witnesses were giving evidence. He changed his hair. He deliberately did all of these things to delay & behaved like a twat in an attempt to get a mistrial.

It was pathetic. Basically he was using all the tools he had used in the past to get his way and avoid consequences for his actions. Wanting the jury to nullify the charges because he had a rough childhood is a good example of that. to an outsider this seems ludicrous but to a narcist no matter how intelligent, they think people will be swayed by their "charm".

That actually makes sense and I definitely see your point. The only thing I will disagree with you on is his intelligence. Don't let any of his antics fool you, his whole goal behind everything he did during the trial was to get a mistrial. Always pushing the judge to give him a contempt charge or never wanting to say he understood but was aware.
He believed the Reddit post as you say only because is narcissism blinded him to what was obvious to any one else. Nice catch it makes more sense.

He wants to persuade the court that what he did was an “accident” and that he is somehow not a violent person and yet he stares the judge down with the corner of his lip twitching from his rage 🤣 It’s so dumb hes a Clown who should of been hanged. I wish they hanged him and I have no regrets saying that. He should of gotten the death penalty (I know the state their in doesn’t Inforce it but still) and not only get that sentence but not a humane way of the death penalty neither. He needs to feel pain before he passes like that poor 7 year old boy felt dying on the cold street. They need to bring back hanging I think it’s needed in these circumstances when the defendant is not only guilty but doesn’t show any remourse and doesn’t feel effected by his sentence. The best parts of this trial have been placing Brooks in another room and pressing the mute button. It was so good to see how frustrated he became at his inability to be heard.

Someone said that the fact that he fled from the scene after he punched Erica's friend and the police was called shows he understands what he did was wrong. And after he plowed through the parade he fled again and was hiding in a playhouse on someone's lawn when police finally caught him. If he was crazy he wouldn't understand why he did anything wrong and wouldn't intentionally hide from the police. And if parade truly was an accident from a malfunction of the car I would believe he wouldn't have fled the scene

But an appeals court can say something was wrong with the trial, then they ask the question, would that have changed the jury’s verdict? I don’t see an appeals court judge saying yes to that. There’s freaking video of him committing the crime. Then there’s the interrogation video where he lies about not driving to Wakeusha.

They all help each , miss court dates and jury trials cancelled like 6 times and just Delay delay delay. we now got so many murderers that we had to open up a new pod . The longest person in the county jail stay for 7 years straight 🗣 he finally got life and time served for 2k days 🙃🙃 Florida prison is also hurting for low low pay and short staff so they sit for two months to three till the bus come

When she says that she can't explain the definition of the law she still trys to explain in a way, and I think she is wrong for going out of her way to help him. All that smiling at him, and bowing fown to his redelicous questions are in my opinion a disgrace to everyone involved with this case. She is showing so much respect for him, and I don't see her giving the victims, families the respect that they deserve. At times she is disgusting at the way she smiles, and let him have authority over her. IAM not putting her down, but she may need to step down from presiding over another case of this magnitude.
