      Ummm, dumba**, you can’t kill people. I believe it’s even in that Bible he’s always waving about, lecturing to non murderers such as myself that it is the book and people must live their lives according to it. Considering we have separation of church and state, he could consult all the laws and amendments he referred to when he whined about his paper cut, bruise, possible COVID results, bailiffs “putting their hands on them”

      A few times during the trial he asked to go to the other court room. When denied because he refused to accept the term forfeit his right... he didn't forfeit he asked. After that he caused a drama show. When corrected he told Judge Dorow he had asked to go to the other court room so SHE wouldn't have to deal with what he was doing.
      Stupidity at it's finest.

      Omg me too! It’s just so horrible that the victims/victim families never got any kind of decent apology from him and it was obvious why. He was so mad that afternoon! And when someone pisses him off he goes off the deep end. He did the same thing during every single day of that trial. So disgusting. And I wonder, who introduced this sovereign idea to him. And hopefully he humiliated whoever it was.

      It was the best idea that could’ve been given!
      Given his personality, he (Brooks) would NEVER back down even if all the evidence in the world showed taking that route was a foolish one.
      Plus his tendency to do the opposite of what women tell him, he would continue cause he thought EVERY woman would roll over after an hour.
      Obviously he never raised his kids, else he would know how 5 year olds can be and how to counter them.
      The judge has 3 kids - she knows the game of patience

      Yes he does totally understand everything he attempted to do.
      He says the word understand, his appeal hearing he clarified:
      "Idon't understand how the court was ALLOWED to do what they did to me.
      I never CONSENTED to or given my PERMISSION for anything like this to be done to me.
      Ur oonor I need you to help me understand how the court charged me, tried, convicted and sentenced me when I never CONSENTED or gave PERMISSION for anything like this to be done to me.
      Everyone knows that it was illegal for the court and prosecutors to do anything to me that I never CONSENTED to or given my PERMISSION to do.
      Before the court appointed attorney was placed on the appeal. This is what DB said.
      Needs help understanding how it all happened when he didn't approve of anything happening.

      Like both Judge Dorow and ADA Opper say over and over,”Mr. Brooks is causing all these problems strictly as an attempt to disrupt and delay the proceedings.”
      When he jumps up and yells it’s not true he just looks like a bigger fool. And, I have no doubt, reinforces a verdict in each juror’s mind.
      He took up so much time in this trial, the jurors felt they could save time when their deliberation came.
      Three hours. BINGO!! A verdict has been reached!!

      Subject matter jurisdiction is the authority or power that each court has over certain types of legal disagreements (disputes). For a court to hear a particular case, it must have subject matter jurisdiction over the issue or issues that you are asking the court to decide on. This court had no jurisdiction and Brooks' case should be dismissed.

      Well, I guess he shouldn't have sent his attorneys away! The judge does not have to explain the law to him. In fact, she runs the risk of having it to be a mistrial if she does. She's not to offer him advice! That's like acting as his attorney. He just doesn't know when to shut up! He defies her in every way he can like here, refusing to sit down! I can't stand this monster!

She had a restraining order against him so he couldn’t enter her house but when it comes to strangers being mowed down and murdered she has no sympathy and defends him . She wanted him kept away from her but he’s free to reign terror down on innocent people at a parade .

    This is probably the 10th time over gone through and rewatched each day of the trial and/or the clips. I can’t stop for some reason. This whole case was infuriating yet so addictive to watch. I think I cant stop because I never got the satisfaction of seeing this monster get beat the hell up.
    My boyfriend is starting to worry about me and get annoyed by how often I watch this.

      Yes, he fully understands everything going on.
      Intentional disruptive behavior.
      Intentional defying the court rulings.
      Yelling and banging his version of lawful and, subject matter jurisdiction.
      Everything possible to derail the trial.
      Pleaded not understanding the charges against him.
      His claim on being a sovereign. He actually argued that he was NOT a sovereign citizen. He is sovereign.
      Begging and demanding to go to the other court room.
      Judge Dorow can't make him stay in the regular court room for something he doesn't understand.
      Omg dude just kept running that mouth.
      What good did it done for you Darrell Brooks?

      At sentencing when he said, “I don’t understand judgement “ I was just floored. This ridiculous person dug his own grave. At first I thought maybe he was doing some kind of act to try to make ppl think he was experiencing some type of mental illness. But by the end of his trial it was obvious he really is like that. When the jury went out to deliberate, he was like a giddy little child, saying stupid stuff to JudgeJen and that clownish smile on his face! Thank goodness the right DA and her team along with the right Judge gave him exactly what he deserved

      He filed an appeal 2-3 days after the end of this trial.
      I recall a video of his speech to the judge when he filed.
      Begged the judge to help him understand HOW the court was able to DO EVERYTHING they did, when he NEVER consented to have any of it done.
      The hearing for the original appeal was in Judge Dorow's courtroom.
      Once he had an attorney appointed by the court that video was removed from public records.

Whole different ball game. The time dealing with him is now maybe 10% of what it was. His meals can also be served by a robot.

    I remember being told one time that it is not their job to make you understand anything, and I remember when I was told that thinking the person saying it to me was just being careless and rude.
    After watching endless videos of this case, I can now say I completely understand what that person was saying to me that day.
    Just because this guy doesn't understand anything and chose to put himself in a position to represent himself doesn't in return make it the judges job to make sure he understands how the courts work. Like he is beyond infuriating and frustrating and just a piece of s***.

I mean, a defendant has a right to face his accuser, but they never brought out anyone who had filed a complaint in the matter. Further, one witness said there was a hispanic male driving the car. So, conflicting reports should have been an easy acquittal. The way they did him was wrong.

    The judge is a class act. I especially appreciate her taking the schoolteacher approach and explaining in short and simple sentences how his conduct is disruptive and disrespectful. It is a masterful way of disarming his trap; instead of rising to the provocation she calmly confronts him with his own behaviour, putting it on the record in the process.

      You're spot on. Have you ever heard the expression "throw it against the wall and see what sticks"? That's basically what his plan is. Object to everything try getting a contempt charge argue everything in an attempt to get a mistrial.
      What he doesn't realise however his argument that there is no inured party complaining will backfire if he is set free on that basis. One or more of the victims family members beat him to death they can't be charged because he is not there to charge them.

    Dawn Woods needs to face charges, put on the stand, and out behind the clinkers. She gave this evil thing freedom, harboured a felon (Brooks had warrants during the time she bailed out, housed him and fed this woman beater\pedo) she gave this man the murdering weapon, she endlessly supported him through the entire trial not only emotionally but attempted to free him with fluke information.       I saw a defense attorney speak about Brook’s appeal. He has submitted his written request for a public defender.
      An appeal takes at least six months of the attorney to read every word of this trial. A public defender doesn’t get paid enough to do all the work necessary to participate in such a fruitless exercise.
      Would a high quality defense attorney want his/her name in the news badly enough to defend this fool pro bono?

    This is the problem with people who want to represent themselves, they slow down the judicial process, they make baseless objections, they irritate the Judge, they are “not” prepared for trial, they do not understand legal procedure, are not trained to cross-examine witnesses, it’s a “nightmare” for everyone but I commend this Judge 👩‍⚖️ for her patience and professionalism

    I love that he tried EVERYTHING to delay the process. And nothing worked. They moved right along. As the trial was coming to an end…about day 15 on…he was so dangerous and it was sickening to think of him out in society. I hate that six people had to die so violently to get this monster caged forever. I ❤️Waukesha!

      She’s got his continued interruptions on record. She just needs to move him to the other court room. He’s effectively still present. Courts operated remotely throughout COVID with no problem. This dude just acts like a child and wants her to teach him how to be an attorney. Just wish she would stop giving him the attention.

For a court to hear a particular case, it must have subject matter jurisdiction over the issue or issues that you are asking the court to decide on. This court had no jurisdiction and Brooks' case should be dismissed.

      Are you talking about judge John Russo? That’s not proper court decorum, he had to recuse himself and issue an apology. I doubt you’ve seen that multiple times. If she had taped his mouth he’d have legitimate grounds for appeal and a new trial. That’s exactly why the judge Russo had to recuse himself. Judge Darrow isn’t that stupid, she was extremely careful to give him a fair trial without bias.

    I think DB did a fantastic job, given how little law he knew. I mean his ability through his arguments and even his body language, to really persuade the jury, should be a masterclass. I hope law students are shown his ability to argue the minutia of details and preparation in front of the jury to get his desired outcome. Oh wait...he was acting as a DEFENSE attorney?? My bad, I thought that he was working WITH the prosecution.

      He certainly would be, under normal circumstances. The judge's clear objective here is to protect the case and prevent it from being overturned on appeal. Finding him in contempt, as he's his own attorney, would only derail things more. Looks like she's focused on the big picture.
