Wes I challenge you to write a cook book. !!!your videos make me starving. Your food looks so good . I like your principles,if everyone adopted your way we’d have hardly any landfill. I like that you are aware of your environment and pick up other people’s rubbish. You two are very kind ,thoughtful people. Think about the book Wes, I would like 5 books please lol 😊😊
I'm vegan and don't have a fridge or freezer either. In the winter I store food in a terracotta pot with terracotta plant pot dish in the back yard, it works brilliantly. You could use a watertight container with rope attached to store chilled food in and put in canal with rope attached to keep it cool, would last longer too. When i was homeless, this is how I stored food and kept belongings safe
Really useful vlog guys, especially for boaters who are vegans, like myself …. And … without a fridge. Have just started following your journey but would love to see more of your daily routine of vegan meals😍😍. Thank you
Yes Sam! We’ve never understood the brown sauce preference but perhaps it’s an acquired taste! Even sriracha is too spicy for us 😂🥵 Can’t go wrong with a cheeky McDonald’s now and then 🤫😉
Try putting the potatoes wrapped at the side of the coals' not directly on top of them.... what a chef you are Wes, a great vlog!!! We have decaf tbags as I have tinnitus in the ears and was told to avoid caffeine!! Xx
Oo that’s a great idea! Makes more sense to put them in a colder bit of the stove. Thank you for watching! I hope the tinnitus isn’t too disruptive! ❤️
Easy & quick vegan meals would be good as my daughter is a student and allergic to meat & meat products, so any ideas gratefully received! Love to your 2 pets, they're both soooo cute x.
We might look into something like that later down the line but I’m not sure our DIY skills are quite up to scratch for that just yet! 😂Thanks for the tip though 😊
We've just turned our fridge off for winter as cruising less and the solar wasn't quite cutting. Thankfully its cold enough now for a box with a lid outside as a makeshift fridge 😁
You do well to make it last with no fridge, especially the 'cheese'. I think Wes has secret chef skills, one - they look like decent knives and 2 - he/you chops an onion properly.
This video was really fun!! The bacon sandwich is my favorite we put bacon, lettuce and tomato with Hellmans Mayonnaise. Which we call a BLT in the States. I live in Ohio . Wes lasagna looked delicious!! My favorite was the pasta dish where Wes smashed up all the ingredients, and said " it doesn't taste as bad as it looks Lol." But I have tried chicken peas before can not eat them yuk. I notice on long days you eat after 11 pm. Are you able to run a crock pot slow cooker, to have dinner ready after a long day? Enjoyed this video!! 👋😀💛
Oo a classic BLT! We call them that here too! Not sure why we don’t eat more of them that sounds lovely! 😋 wes’s lasagne is a classic, we both love it so much! Yeah some of the food looks a bit odd until it’s done 😂 Chickpeas can be used for lots of different things, but some people don’t like pulses and that’s okay! 😊 our late dinners are usually caused by a lack of planning 😂 not intentional! We don’t have a crock pot or anything as it’s usually more electricity and they take up a fair bit of space, but it’s a good idea to have something ready by the end of a long day! Thanks for watching again! ❤️🥰
Hi to you both ! Amazing video ! Loved it !! I only found your channel a month ago , so I am trying to catch up ! However what with work , and life in general it's difficult to find the time , but I am so glad I did ! You give us all so many ideas and inspiration of economical easy meals , some are so super quick and and once again so inspirational ! As a nurse I have shift work and busy , crazy days and nights , however some of your recipes look so simple, fast I am going to try them and use the leftovers to bring into work for lunch or dinner. You both did a wonderful job at presenting the stages of the cooking process and all the ingredients required ! Thank you so much !! Greetings from Ireland !
Ah thank you so much!! 🥰 yeah some of the recipes are much quicker and easier, great for if you’re short of time or just a bit tired and want something simple! Thank you so much for watching! X
Can tell you are good cooks ;D not sure if you are aware but chip shop food is all cooked in the same oil so it depends if you mind your chips etc cooked along side meat and they some times use beef fat / lard . Your little friend is soooO adorable , was hoping to see more of them and what they get up to lol ;D))) your life style looks wonderful , may you always have a good and happy life as a family
Thank you!! Yeah we’re generally okay with risking cross contamination (within reason!) so don’t mind that too much, provided it isn’t cooked in animal fat 😊 Thank you! We have a rabbit Rupey and a dog Rufus 🥰 thank you, and you too! Xx
Love it!! Wes and Amy. A great insight into your vegan week of goodies..👍😍 Thanks for sharing with us. I think you manage so well without a fridge.....👌 Take care 👏🎄😍
Very interesting and wow very professional cutting up the veg any previous training or just a natural? We didn't realise how much vegan choices are available. Certainly kept us entertained 👍👍👍
Wes just really enjoys his cooking. He did a mini cooking course many years ago but other than that it’s just practise! There are so many vegan options these days it’s great! Thank you for watching!! 🥰
Thanks for sharing. It’s very interesting seeing how others fix their food. Had no idea you have so many choices. Before you always here salads? Have you always been vegan? Wes seems like a great chef so lucky to have him. Looking forward to seeing more cooking videos. Susan
Yeah we always love seeing other peoples eating habits so we thought we would share ours! 😊 there are so many options these days so thankfully we don’t have to just eat salads as neither of us really like them 😅 Amy has been vegan for about 9 years and Wes has for 5 years! Wes really enjoys his cooking which definitely helps! 🥰
Is it difficult to get vegan ingredients? I’m surprised you don’t have a harder time finding meat substitutes. I am a vegetarian and it’s tough to get some of the things I want to cook. We live just south of Denver, CO!
It used to be very tricky finding vegan alternatives, but these days they're much much easier to find. There are also a lot of things we can stock up on like chickpeas to sustain us when we are on a stretch without shops with vegan options for a while. Ah wow, hello Denver from the UK! 👋🏻👋🏻
Interesting video. Always love seeing others making food. Some of the vegan substitutes just didn't look right to me, don't think you can replace bacon :) but hey, that's just me. Not tried it so I can't knock it in reality. How much doesn't a weekly shop cost? You's have done so well without a fridge, I wonder how much you may save/spend more once you have a fridge!? 3 videos left till I'm full caught up!! :(
No problem at all! Vegan bacon still has some way to go, but there’s a lot of other products which are making good headway! Each to their own 😊 We usually spend less when it’s tinned goods, the fridge stuff can be more pricey so we will have to see! It’s usually about £60ish per week but it varies!
Ooo, I loved every second, including the guilty pleasures. I'm not vegan, but I would easily copy everything for my menu. The only thing I did not see was COffee!
Yay! We are so glad you enjoyed this lil something different 😊 That’s good to hear! 🍔 Neither of us really like coffee funnily enough 🤫 Just tea and hot chocolate for us! ☕️
I love tofu egg salads. I make one all the time. I add celery salt and pickle relish to mine in addition to the black salt. Can you all not use the canals with a cooler or anything like that for a fridge? I wonder if there is anyone out there who does something like that.
Oo we’ve never tried that before! We’ll keep an eye out for some so we can try it 😊 Yeah some people do I think but I guess they only really slow the process of stuff getting warmer, but sometimes we will leave stuff out on the stern deck to keep cool. We’ve seen some people leave stuff on the gunnel outside their hatch too but we’re too scared it’d fall in the canal! 😅
Haha we are on the not a fan of marmite side but it does sound interesting! Most of the time in the UK the chips are cooked in vegetable oil so we can usually enjoy the chips! 😊
@@BoatTime my boys hate marmite but it gives bolognaise, chilli etc a ‘meaty’ flavour. Most of the chippies near me cook their chips with fish and meat products but I am lucky to have a veggie hut in walking distance
Thank you for watching! It’s great! But I’d say use it sparingly as it can be quite pungent! I think it’s sulphur content in it that gives it the eggy taste/smell 😊
Lovely, vlog, I’m a fairly new by to your channel, hence the 7 month lag at commenting, as I’m watching your back videos. Can I ask you about your rue for your lasagne, you said you use butter, is this a vegan alternative? I’m vegan too so I’m interested in replicating some of your lovely meals and I’d love to know what you use. Thanks for some fabulous vlogs. Take care you 2 and your gorgeous pets. X
Aw thank you, and welcome! 🥰 yes we use vegan alternatives, like Vitalite or some Flora etc. it’s quite common these days in the UK 😊 lovely to meet a fellow vegan! And thank you for watching! ❤️
Great,. what do you feed the baby(dog) idont think it can be a vegan, but of course i dont know , all my dotgs have been meat eaters . great blogs PLEASE keep them , xxxx for the baby.

Yay! Fellow vegan boaters, hi! 👋🏻
Noted, we will add it to the video ideas list! 🤗 thank you so much
Your dinner looks yum on Monday 😁
Sam: Ketchup
Tim: Brown Sauce
For everything else there's MasterCard.. no wait, sriracha
MCDONALD'S!!!!
Yes Sam! We’ve never understood the brown sauce preference but perhaps it’s an acquired taste! Even sriracha is too spicy for us 😂🥵
Can’t go wrong with a cheeky McDonald’s now and then 🤫😉
Yes, please for more cooking videos!
Noted! And thank you! 🥰
Boy's got knife skills 👨🏻🍳.... Great vid as always guys 👍🏻
Haha thank you 😎
Hello you all need to make a Vegan cookbook it all looks so yummy
That’s not a bad idea! 👀 thank you! 🥰
Try putting the potatoes wrapped at the side of the coals' not directly on top of them.... what a chef you are Wes, a great vlog!!! We have decaf tbags as I have tinnitus in the ears and was told to avoid caffeine!! Xx

I got major flashbacks from the Twitch discourse surrounding bay leaves 😂 love you guys! ❤️❤️
Haha! Yep Wes is still standing by them and using them 😅❤️
FANTASTIC.... if I bump into you on the cut I am going to do my best to invite myself for that Lasagne .... I feel really hungry now : ). Great video.
Haha! Thank you for the compliment! You’ll have a hard time getting any before Wes eats it all 😅
Easy & quick vegan meals would be good as my daughter is a student and allergic to meat & meat products, so any ideas gratefully received! Love to your 2 pets, they're both soooo cute x.
Oo great suggestion! We'll see what we can do 😊 Thank you! They're both very good boys 🥰🥰
Looks good, I"m not a vegan but enjoyed. One thing sandwiches would be better if you could toast the bread? Have a good week.
Thanks for watching Sharon! 😊 Glad you enjoyed! We do have a hob toaster, but it takes ages haha!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
What about open a hole under your floors to store your cold goods. Seen on the narrow boat that James built.
We might look into something like that later down the line but I’m not sure our DIY skills are quite up to scratch for that just yet! 😂Thanks for the tip though 😊
Lasagne looks great. Personally I am a brown sauce fan. But can't have anything spicy at the moment so I miss it :(
Thank you! 😋 Oh no! That sucks, hopefully you can have some spicy stuff again soon!
We've just turned our fridge off for winter as cruising less and the solar wasn't quite cutting. Thankfully its cold enough now for a box with a lid outside as a makeshift fridge 😁
Oo that’s a good tip! We’ve found that it’s less of an issue in the colder months and have just stuck things on the stern deck now and then 😅
You do well to make it last with no fridge, especially the 'cheese'. I think Wes has secret chef skills, one - they look like decent knives and 2 - he/you chops an onion properly.
Thank you! We have a trusty set of knives that Wes has had for years. He’s really into his cooking so that means a lot! 😊
@@BoatTime that's exactly what I thought , you know if someone can cook / loves cooking from the way they handle a knife on those veggies lol ;D
