Ralph Breaks the Internet is a 2018 American animated comedy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to the 2012 film Wreck-It Ralph. Wreck-It Ralph 2 Ralph and Vanellope have stayed best friends, hanging out after work in Litwak Arcade.

This movie is the DEFINITION of character assassination. Remember the rivalry between Turbo/King Candy and Vanellope? The movie was almost always stating that going Turbo was a bad thing and could lead to an unplugging of your game. Turbo left his game for jealously of a new car game being better than his, and Vanellope ALSO left her own game for jealousy of a new car game being better than hers. Talk about hypocrisy, yeesh. Side note, WE ARE NEVER TOLD WHAT HAPPENS TO SUGAR RUSH AFTER THE MOVIE. How would people react to seeing that Vanellope is gone? She’s already well known, so she practically ended up putting her own people in danger and Sugar Rush will most likely be unplugged again because of Vanellope’s absence, meaning this entire movie was all for nothing since their entire motive for going to the internet was to get the steering wheel for the game but now it’ll only be unplugged again due to Vanellope’s selfishness, and once again leaving her people homeless and gameless

There’s one line in the season where they basically go “You have learned nothing, Lloyd!” and then the season shows that Lloyd has “indeed learned nothing”, when he literally did develop as a character beforehand

What's really unsettling about the bidding scene in this movie was that the other bidder was also looking for a replacement steering wheel. This implies the existence of another group of sugar rush racers are facing the same situation of losing their game.

The fact that this movie went against Spider-Verse at the Oscars is so funny. It's even made funnier by the fact that Disney genuinely thought they'd win, so they had merch done that said "Best Animated Feature Winner".
To be fair, Sony's last animated movie, prior to that, was Hotel Transylvania 3, The Smurfs 2, and The Emoji movie.

Honestly the way they made Ralph such a huge whiney brat was such a huge and disappointing contrast to his personality in the last movie. Ralph in this movie felt like a fever dream and I hated this version of Ralph

Vanillope quitting Sugar Rush and game hopping to that online game not only completely contradicts the conflict in the first Wreck It Ralph movie; but it will also cause a lot of problems in the real world.
For starters, Vanillope is the most popular playable character in her game, if she leaves, people will notice, be upset, and probably quit playing the game in the arcade.
The repercussions will be even worse for the online game. When people find out that this Sugar Rush character is roaming around in this game, either the game developers are going to assume that someone hacked the game and delete her, or the company behind Sugar Rush is going to have an issue with their licensed character in another game without their knowledge nor permission, which would probably resort in lawsuits, media backlash, and quite possibly people getting fired.
So yeah, not a good ending
I’m so glad someone else thought about the problems of her existing in some other game. The characters in the arcade should already know some stuff about copyright but for a character like Shank (wasted potential) to not give a shit is the worst part.
Especially with how the first movie had the king character back when he was in the racing game have to change his appearance to blend into the new setting. Venelope looks exactly the same so this movie didn't even try to explain how she could jump to a new game without being noticed.
Honestly, I think that may be the reason they wrote Ralph to be a total psycho in this movie. Because his weird behavior throughout totally distracted me from the real world implications. I just wanted him to stay away from Penelope.
I know. I hate how they make Ralph the bad guy for not wanting her to abandon her game, the thing they specifically warned not to do in the first movie, just because Ralph didn’t want to be alone and not address the potential real-world consequences of her doing that.

One small thing I’d like to point out, Mr. Litwak says the $200 steering wheel is “more than the game makes in a year.” Assuming it costs a quarter to play, the math works out to less than three people per day playing Sugar Rush. Isn’t it supposed to be one of the more popular games at the end of the original?

Can’t he just replace the wheel with like a generic one? Or just any object that fits? The wheel just acts like a joystick, take the rubber covering off of it and you still have the stick that actually transmits the movement into the game. So the wheel is just hard plastic, and someone’s trying to sell it for $200. For reference, official Nintendo Wii Wheels costed $15, and adding the Wii Remote and the Nunchuck, it’s a total of $75. $200 for a used plastic wheel is utterly ridiculous.

Although I do not deny that some of them did not look very similar in appearance to their 2D counterparts, I do know that you cannot always adapt the 2D style to 3D but I think some were very bad.
Plus I can't help but feel like obviously Disney did this to say "look how many properties I have" and they were just unnecessary, you take them out and it's not like the plot changes much.
This movie would've been so much better if they just got Sonic to tag along with Ralph.

@@xEmoBoyx I'm saying that if you grew up alone and abused for most of your life, finally found ONE friend, and now they may wanna leave leaving you all alone like the dark times before, then maybe as big of a mistake as you make, it's an understandable one that is improved by learning to let go.
Ralph in the end learned to let Vanellope free to choose her life and learned his lesson. His behavior isn't defendable, but it's not like it's out of nowhere, Ralph was never as much of an emotionally healthy or stable character as the other characters. And what mattered most is he stopped and apologized.

This was the first movie that made me realize as a kid just because a movie is animated it doesn’t mean that I’ll enjoy it

Ralph in this movie is so creepy. They assassinate his character so badly to make him feel more childlike, but he's still a wholeass adult whining about his best friend ever (a young girl who he hangs out with on the daily) not spending enough time with him and putting her in danger in order to cling onto her. You can absolutely write adults and children being friends in a genuine way but how it was handled in this movie is just. What the fuck???

Literally the worst part of the movie has to be the removal of the second seat in Sugar Rush. Remember that? The two best friends who pushed away that girl at the start of the first movie? If Sugar Rush had the second seat then its technically not broken and therefore doesn't have to be unplugged. The game can still make money while the other wheel is shut off for maintenance.
Even if Felix somehow "covers" for Ralph, even if Ralph did an incredibly stupid thing by making the new track, even if Vanellope did the incredibly stupid act of actually going there, even if Litwak didn't think twice before shoving the wheel back, none of that would've mattered if they kept the second seat in. But they didn't, because plot convenience i guess.

There's very few pieces of media I go out of my way to despise. Ralph Breaks The Internet is one of them. Aside from the concept of the film itself dating itself extremely fast, it pretty much destroys everything fans liked about the first movie.
I may come off as ranting, but if you liked Wreck it Ralph, please do not watch this movie for the sake of your own enjoyment. I genuinely believe it is that bad.

1- it ruins the characters and their development, Ralph became a complete "man with the mind of a child" he is a simple FOOL.
2- Vanellope becomes Turbo, she leaves and invades another game, yes for different reasons but it's the same, Ralph does that in the first movie and is recriminated for it but Vanellope isn't, why? because this movie doesn't mind breaking the message of the first.
3-Vanellope and Ralph's friendship is completely ruined
4- It is a tremendous commercial for Internet brands and Disney, he said the whole scene where they visit the Disney page is simply "Look how many brands I have", nor forget the fact that they moved away from the topic of video games, something that was the topic of the first movie and it is assumed here too. The worst thing is that the first film made an effort not to rely on famous video game characters and titles in order for the film to be successful, they made an effort to focus on its original characters and worlds.

I did like the first film. But when I saw this one in theaters, it gave me a headache. I also felt like Disney wanted to sell new Princess dolls and needed a reason to do so.

When this movie came out i saw ppl shipping Vanellope and Shank, cause technically Shank's game is newer compared to Sugar Rush, which makes her younger than Vanellope. I'm not elaborating.

It doesn't help that this movie has Ralph be a co-dependent clingy friend to Vanellope, despite Vanellope being a child and Ralph being a grown man. Ultimately, the characters don't age or anything, so they're stuck as whatever they were designed to be by the game developers. However, it's still uncomfortable to look at.

Like do the characters follow toy story rules and come to life after they're finished or is it something else? Do game devs design them thinking that they're gonna have a mind of their own? Can devs speak to their games? Are the devs the only ones who know and can talk to them? Do game characters know twhat they're made for as soon as the dev finishes designing or is it like toy story too?

This movie is my least favorite movie of all time. I walked out of the theater as a ten year old and even I was like, “that kinda sucked.” Keep in mind, this is coming from a kid who thought Home on the Range was good.

The potential for amazing world potential was immense after what the original masterpiece established. Why the hell did they need to go The Internet? They already introduced us to an immersive, wonderful world in the first movie: THE ARCADE! Why couldn't we spend time in the other games' worlds and characters we were breifly introduced to in the first movie. Its called WORLD BUILDING!

It is kinda incredible how it managed to get all the cameos and easter eggs eight in the diest film, but half the omes in this either aged poorly or were obscure and dated even before release.

Theres actually a surprising following behind arcades still. I mean they arent as popular as they used to be, but theyre still a frequent hangout spot when theyre around. I got 2 in my town and theyre actually pretty busy especially weekends.

Better Sequel idea:
-The adventures on the internet get shortened and just has references and a meme or too. *Ralph and her get the wheel paid for almost immediately*
-Rest of the movie takes place when they return to the arcade, but the problem... It's the WRONG one. But by the time they realize it.. They are being blocked from leaving.
Possible villain... The Felix of that Arcade who wants to... "FIX" villainy. Wants to be the truest of heroes
There could have even been a final showdown between Felix and this Fixed Felix, the former winning after the later insults/hurts his wife.
An unlikely ally in this being.. Turbo, or possibly the Turbo of this arcade.
This is already way more creative than the entirety of this movie!! and you haven't even elaborated the concept!

What grinds my gears is that DDR X2 arcade in the background. It’s over 8 years old when the movie came out with terrible pads.
It's really disappointing that they mostly ditched the gaming concept just to jump to internet culture content, which ages much worse. They could've done console games, mobile games, e-sports, etc., but they just did internet junk. This movie feels like a late-2000s to early-2010s internet episode, except it's a full film instead of an 11-22 minute episode.
There are online games though?? It was a perfect concept executed PERFECTLY.

Thank god that at least some people actually do agree with me that Ralph Breaks the Internet sucked! I waited 5 years for a Wreck-it Ralph sequel to be announced, and THIS is what we got!?! A movie/film that focuses way more on the internet world and way less on video-game worlds! Puh-leeesh! I know that a majority of people (mostly online reviewers) hate The Emoji Movie with a burning passion, but I gotta say that movie/film already took the best possible approach of what a fantasy life could be like inside of physical social-media! The actual Wreck-it Ralph sequel clearly did not need to copy that exact kind of approach just because The Emoji Movie had a very negative target-audience! I really wish the Wreck-it Ralph sequel prioritized having Mario over some unnecessarily product-placement mixed with Disney crossovers and such! If most people don't feel bad for hating on an animated movie/film, then I can safely say with 100% certainty that Ralph Breaks the Internet is severely UnderHated! Meaning Ralph Breaks the Internet actually gets way less hate than it really deserves to have! I'm so glad you guys made my day by uploading this video! A review that way more people should agree with than to disagree.

the fact i watch the movie and don't remember any of that first part happening (before they enter the WIFI thing). is crazy. I was litterally questioning myself, asking if this really did happen because I never remembered any of those scenes. I watched it in theaters too.
