Never thought I’d see a movie about one though. Was a lot of fun to watch, hopefully people will want to take care of animals more but stilll the exotic pet trade is it’s own problem, and invasive species in florida cry😢
I cannot emphasize enough that the scene at 15:19 was a real scene in this movie. This was a genuine choice that a team of writers made. I watched this movie at 1 am on a whim and it took everything in me not to lose it laughing at that scene
After all the terrible things Netflix has done with their animated properties the last few years, hopefully the success of this movie will lead to more projects in the future.

Leo is actually a tuatara. Which makes a lot less sense, but that's what the movie says he is. Anyway, it's pretty wild how Adam Sandler made a better movie than Disney. It's a lot more wholesome and heartfelt than you'd expect. Also, the banter between Leo and Squirtle is golden.
I love that everbody who watched this movie had the same reaction. We all went in expecting a mediocre Adam Sandler movie and were pleasantly surprised how good it actually was.
He's fully capable of making good stuff. Most of his movies are vacations for him and his friends so they don't get much effort. When he tries, he's solid.

8 crazy nights had the same character designs as Life with Louie, a tv cartoon series based on the comedian's childhood. That Adam Sandler movie was a horror night for me and some pals since we grew up with the Louie cartoon in the 2000s (an eastern european fox kids classic)
You can say what you want about Adam's humor but him as a person is probably one of the only big names in Hollywood that would give his shirt and a place to stay if you're out of a home and needed a shirt for an interview

To be fair, animals are not supoose to talk to humans, because of obvious conotations. I feel it makes sense, but it doesn't really have many consquences to go with that.
I think they were more mad he lied to them bc he said to each of them that only they could hear him bc they were special. So maybe when they found out he lied they didn't feel special anymore idk
I'm assuming it's because Leo never necessarily said that he was talking to all the kids. He told each kid he wasn't SUPPOSSED to talk and the kid's assumed they were the one special kid who can understand animals. It's still silly, but I guess it's understandable.

One of the best decisions this movie made was the fact that all kindergarteners in this world are rabid bowling-ball-headed goblin creatures. And that's not just a funny joke, this is legit a life stage for humans in this world. You see a slideshow of the kids in 5th grade doing a then and now, and you see they also were at one point rabid bowling-ball-headed goblin creatures.

This movie gives the EXACT same vibes and feeling as one of those 2nd/3rd grade chapter books we’d read that had talking animals (Mouse and the Motorcycle and Fantastic Mr. Fox and those kinds of books) AND the exact same vibes as an early 2000’s Dreamworks movie (like Bee Movie or Madagascar), and for some reason those two things mixed together just WORK for me. I loved this movie so much:) Leo taught each of the 5th graders a valuable life lesson and he also taught Disney a valuable life lesson too LOL

This movie is insane, has no demographic, and has a uncanny and inconsistent art style. Watching it feels like I'm on drugs and I love it.
