@@HangFireStonesPodcast With Blue and Lonesome failing to go go gold in America and perhaps we are more ageist than other places, you have to wonder if they can make a dent here. The humongous world tours seem to have built up their international following so that multiple certifications may occur but Americans may be content to just keep playing their old stuff. Excellent points! and refreshing to see someone welcome Mick's adventurous efforts; you're definitely in the minority! I also agree that it's better to fail in something new than old--nicely put. I hope the new album will be a nice balance of the old and new.
Looking forward to your podcast! You are a very knowledgeable and passionate fan, I can tell. You’ll bring some interesting topics and angles to long form Stones discussion.
I thought it was weird that they decided to continue without Watts. I would've called it day after that if it was me. I don't disregard Ronnie but I'm talking about the core. If it's "one last time", I'd really like Bill to be in that mix.
There's a lot of different thoughts about the Story after Charlie passed in my head. One thing for sure is that they have to ride on in whatever ways. And i think that's what Charlie would tell them. @@hobbygamer6220 Since the magic and chemistry have long been gone now. I saw the stones live last year and they where very good, but they haven’t produced any decent new album for decades I think. Even that blues album was moderate, except for the title song ‘blue and lonesome’ - excellent. That’s why I hope for 1 more time of old chemistry and creativity from Jagger/Richards.
I'd like to see these Albums worth of unreleased songs released. Been a fan since the Stones were " new" to US audiences. I believe " Start Me Up" was an old track prior to releasing it. Definitely " Harlem Shuffle" - Keith used to hide it on cassette tape so Mick ( Sir Mick) could hear it.Thanx
I think a major thing that was understated in regard to their formula of a new album and tour off that album and then repeat was Keith’s head injury, he needed time to convalesce. When they finally did start touring you could see Keith lost a step in his playing and energy, he slowed a bit and that event lent to the lack of recording new material.

@HangFireStonesPodcast : Very few can compare to the Stones. Not even Mick Jagger can. Still, he was capable of creating a SuperGroup that made a world music-influenced album and I listened to it at least ten times when it first came out. Very few agree with me, but I found it palatable at least.
@HangFireStonesPodcast I mean, I guess it was really the Eurythmics guy who put it together...and I pretty much stuck to the songs Jagger sang on. I did like the title track the most.

But I am expecting it to sound along the lines of `A Bigger Bang`, something with maybe a bit too much diversity of sound. Still, if they give us an hour of music it will be easy to make a real good/great 40 minute album out of it.
Interesting. I always felt Bang to be pretty consistent; lofi garage band sound. Bridges to Babylon was more varied and super produced. But yes I think we should look forward to something special 👍
Good presentation. I enjoyed it. Two points: The Stones could have (should have...should) embrace the new word of music presentation - streaming. There is no need to go into a studio and record 10, 12, 16 or more songs for an album. Albums are dead, for the most part. Just do one or two and post them, just like they did during the pandemic with "Living In A Ghost Town". Then, if you do 10 or so, you can combine them into an album, after the fact. Point 2: Mick is a saint for working with Keith again after the mean things Keith said about him in "Life" (we all know the part I'm talking about). I love Keith, but he should keep his mouth shut a little more.
They have been recording their next album for years. Of course i am happy to hear new música from the Rolling Stones. But then, they go on tour and play only one ir two new songs

And if theyre bringing into the Studio Bill Wyman, may as well bring in Mick Taylor as well and have all of them on the songs together, rather than Paul McCartney who was a Beatle and not a Stone.

Mick has commented throughout 2010 that the audience of a legacy act never wants to hear their new material. I'd say that Mick's ambivalence to a new album, much like Stevie Nicks' disinterest in recording new Fleetwood material, is driven by the fans mostly wanting classic material and, yes, the decline of sales in a streaming economy.

Apparently the Stones are a English band . It’s a bit late For bringing in permanent members now ? Mick & Keith & Ronnie want to leave things the way they are ? After all it’s their band & they’ve got the shout .

Bands go thru a creative peak of roughly 10 years ? The Stones had their creative writing peak years ago . I can’t see them bringing out another classic album like from BITD anyway ? They’ve written over 300 songs anyway , they should re-record some of them for a album instead ? Because they’ve been writing so called new songs for a new album for a very very long time anyway ? So obviously it’s not happening for them anymore ? They’ve changed what would they write about anyway ? There lives have changed since the 60’s 70’s & even the 80’s 90’s etc .
I hate having to listen to some long winded stranger who thinks everyone wants to hear him talk instead of hearing the Stones. This guy should have to retitle this so people know it’s about him.
Thank you for this podcast Justin!! (●'◡'●) I've been a huuuge fan since they quite literally first stepped foot in America. Can you some time in the near future do an episode on Mick Taylor having been invited back (as a guest), and ESPECIALLY why he was let go in 2015? Did they have a fallout? Anyway, thanks for all your great work!!! (っ◔◡◔)っ \(• ◡ •)/ \(סּںסּَ` )/ۜ
Thanks for the kind words! That's an interesting idea for a video. I'll look into it since I didn't think much of the decision to not include Taylor on any more tours. Seemed like business as usual. But maybe there's more to it than meets the eye! 🕵️👀
What could be so bad that you can't get passed with your best friend.I mean did someone screw another one wife or do something unorthodox, come on, it's the stones nothing else matters.
Seriously, not looking forward to a new album. All the classics were done in the past, never, ever to be replicated. “Some Girls” was a one off. Nothing since has meant anything to me. Stones fan all my life, born in 1954. Given me so much pleasure.
Jagger has no sense of the quality of his/the Stones' own records. The Exile bonus cuts are mostly harsh and cluttered. He doesnt "get" what makes much of the Stones' work great.I mean the guy dislikes Buttons and Exile. The Some Girls bonus stuff was way better than Exile's extras.
this guy can’t speak for a full minute without a bad edit…new Stones album? If you’re a fan you’ll get it the day its released, if you’re not, you don’t care (and aren’t watching this any way)
It’s just gonna be more generic blues rock like they’ve done since bigger bang. I love the stones but I think they just pump this stuff out with no real thought, or they’re just incapable of doing what they did when they were younger and contemporary.
Blues and lonesome was the worst blues record ever recorded. Stones missed a great opportunity. Don Was did an awful job the sound of that album really sucks. So does the songs. And im a stones fan
I am bored by the narrator so close on my screen. Rolling Stones is a butterfly Keep it a butterfly. Go study something Go to Qingdao. Learn business Learn real people. Learn jump out your shoebox. Embarressing you have no other life than whatever just normal lads are thinking. 2000 descriptions of a butterfly!
Nicely done, Justin. As a long time Stones fan going back to oh, IDK, the mid 1810's, or so, give or take a few years, it's nice to have someone like you take the time to get the facts right. It annoys the hell out of me when some wannabe UA-cam creator puts something together, and within 30 seconds the mistakes and inaccuracies come staggering out. I started to watch something about The Beatles a few days ago and in no time the narrator proclaimed that all four members of The Beatles grew up in "middle class, stable families." Oh, really? So Paul losing his mother, Mary, to cancer when he was in his mid teens is an example of that, perhaps? And I suppose John being raised by his Aunt Mimi because his father abandoned his family when John was five and his mother, Julia, was an irresponsible floozy are also examples of that? If so, then that would mean that John's mother's death due to a drunken, off duty police officer hitting her with his car as she was crossing the street is just more evidence of that stability, hmmm? Anyway, thanks for putting together an interesting, entertaining and fact-based video. I subscribed and look forward to the second half. Out of curiosity, any idea as to when that might be, approximately? No pressure. Just wondering. Oh, and hey, this is for you (and anyone else who'd like to add it to their Spotify library) - it's an extensive Rolling Stones playlist I put together two years ago. I call it "Under My Tongue," lol. Get it? Under My Thumb? Thumb... Tongue...? The Stones logo? lol. @@HangFireStonesPodcastthey hired M Taylor when Brian passed away, they hired Steve Jordan when Charlie passed, they hired Woody ( salaried till 1993) when M Taylor left, ....Darryl when Wyman left, M Taylor and R wood were salaried like Darryl and Steve...Darryl and Steve deserve to be in staged band pic, posters...no media interviewer ever dare to ask about Darryl and Steve to be included in the band pic..they can remain salaried...
Steve to me isn't the one...but they know him a long time so
Apparently the Stones are a English band . It’s a bit late For bringing in permanent members now ? Mick & Keith & Ronnie want to leave things the way they are ? After all it’s their band & they’ve got the shout .
It NEEDS to be at least 20 songs
I know right!
Ron Wood has stated the album has seventeen songs.
I just hope the new songs on ’social’ things of Jagger won t suck like that covid song or his last solo thing on england, love the guy but not his cosmopolite world views.
We should brace ourselves for some kind of Sweet Neocon 2!
@@HangFireStonesPodcastthat's smart! They don't do many political songs except Street Fighting Man, Highwire and Sweet Neocon.
That's right!
If they're still aible to write good stuff?
I would prefer some new winos Songs.
@@HangFireStonesPodcastI'd blanked Sweet neocon from my mind. Like a Dirty Work/solo project outtake that wasn't good enough. Mick at his embarrassing worst... completely out of ideas. They must've been wincing in the control room. I hate to say it, but I've hated Charlie's drum sound ever since Don Was got involved. Oh for the glory days of Emotional Rescue!!!
@@DavidGutierrez-ib7rg Mick is political woke lefty I am afraid. Playing for a private Obama concert but refusing Start me Up to Trump rallyes. Obama, the neocon who started 4 wars and Trump none.
Never heard that Super heavy thing before. It's worse than I could've possibly imagined.
😆😆
'I'M SIPPING ON YOUR BOURBON BODY'
Blues album was grear
the suicide of Laura Scott fell into this timeframe as well
Very true! 🕯️
WHAT NEW ALBUM??? BLUE AND LONESOME AND A BIGGER BANG??? THAT WAS YEARS AGO.
Hit play on the video 👍
A record without Charlie?
Not exactly.
I hope its not another boring blues album.
Create an A.I. Charlie and let "him" play the drums.
👍🖥️🥁
Are you kidding???
The Stones have done 300 tracks more probably ? That’s what we know of ?
Maybe around 2000 📈
What could be so bad that you can't get passed with your best friend.I mean did someone screw another one wife or do something unorthodox, come on, it's the stones nothing else matters.
Seriously, not looking forward to a new album. All the classics were done in the past, never, ever to be replicated. “Some Girls” was a one off. Nothing since has meant anything to me. Stones fan all my life, born in 1954. Given me so much pleasure.
There's always moments of brilliance in every Stones album. I'm sure this one will deliver some nice ones too. Just enjoy the ride.
Without new art, the Stones become irrelevant, a nostalgia act. Let Ron write. Two Great latter days outtakes are 'Sanctuary' and 'Nil 20'.
Someone's been busy with the fully finished outtake set 😇
We need a new stones album like I need a hole in my head
Do you like the Stones?
Agree. I love the Stones all my 69 years. But, “new” music? Nothing beats their early albums.
@@KimTebrok fair enough
Jagger has no sense of the quality of his/the Stones' own records. The Exile bonus cuts are mostly harsh and cluttered. He doesnt "get" what makes much of the Stones' work great.I mean the guy dislikes Buttons and Exile. The Some Girls bonus stuff was way better than Exile's extras.
I think he's come around to Exile in recent times. I did enjoy the Some Girls stuff more tho
this guy can’t speak for a full minute without a bad edit…new Stones album? If you’re a fan you’ll get it the day its released, if you’re not, you don’t care (and aren’t watching this any way)
Huge fan but not excited for this new album.
It’s just gonna be more generic blues rock like they’ve done since bigger bang. I love the stones but I think they just pump this stuff out with no real thought, or they’re just incapable of doing what they did when they were younger and contemporary.
22 minute video to say, "With regards to a new album, nothing confirmed at this time."
Blues and lonesome was the worst blues record ever recorded. Stones missed a great opportunity. Don Was did an awful job the sound of that album really sucks. So does the songs. And im a stones fan
Boring commentary....
👍👍
I am bored by the narrator so close on my screen. Rolling Stones is a butterfly Keep it a butterfly. Go study something Go to Qingdao. Learn business Learn real people. Learn jump out your shoebox. Embarressing you have no other life than whatever just normal lads are thinking. 2000 descriptions of a butterfly!
I used to work for the Stones on tour. I really hope they don't tour. They're terrible live and are sullying their legacy.
Nah.
yeah just what the world needs... another boring Rolling Stones record
boo hoo hoo
Please, no more Stones. Never like them and I’m a professional musician
Well than maybe we should let Mick and Kieth know how you feel. 😂😂😂
Don't anger the professional musician 🙂
Thumb... Tongue...? The Stones logo? lol. I have a shit ton of other playlists you can access by doing a search on Spotify using my username, DavidStardust (big Bowie fan, natch.) Enjoy, Justin!
