  • I finally got around to organizing my mess of puzzle boxes. I seriously wish I could add at least three more bookcases in my room, but the space does not allow it :( I really need to figure out a way to add more shelf space in my room, but I think I did the best I could for now. I'm sure I will end up reorganizing again as my puzzle collection continues to grow.
    I also share some tidbits about me and my various collections of things I've bought over the years (and some I've kept since childhood).
    A BIG thank you to all my new followers! I appreciate you!

      I've always liked keeping knic knacks and displaying my collections. I get a kick out of gazing at my items. But it does become a pain to keep clean most of the time, so I don't blame you LOL.

    I had a thermos from the nineties when I was in elementary school. Oh so many memories :)

    The best way to organize an existing shelf unit is to add an additional shelf unit.

      I totally agree, and I actually did that recently! I just wish I had more space to add another shelf unit🤣

    Hello, fellow introvert here! 👋🏻 … I really enjoy your videos. Like you, I puzzle for relaxation & to de-stres. It’s my form of meditation 😑
    You did a nice job organizing! Wish I had shelves like that to see my puzzles each day, mine are in a closet 😏 I look forward to watching you in more videos, but not in a “creepy” way! lol

      You “creeping” on me huh!🤣haha🤣
      Happy you’re enjoying the videos my fellow introvert pal. I really do wish I could get another shelf in my room. I’m gonna have to get creative with making more space to fit in more sets, but I’m happy with what I’ve done so far.

    Agree! It's super fun to have "pen pals" with the same love of puzzles. I actually never thought of myself as a puzzle nerd. For years I did them on my tablet which is ... free! It was my relaxation time. Then I was in the toy store with my granddaughter and saw a beautiful ravensburger puzzle of planets. Only 180 pieces. Oppsss. So fun. I swore I'd never do more than 500 pieces. But then I saw 1000 piece one at the zoo. It was SO beautiful I couldn't resist. It took me ten days! And I'm hooked! So keep up the great content and thank you 😊

      It sure is great to have a group of fellow puzzle buddies to talk to about this wonderful hobby!
      My earliest memory of doing puzzles was when I was in preschool, completing big floor puzzles of dinosaurs on my own...I didn't really want to play with other children lol. I did them on and off throughout the years but my obsession came back several years back when my husband bought me some Disney puzzles. Now I can't stop lol!

    I'm loving my new puzzle hobby but I can see how the collecting part can take over. I'm going to have to be careful because I only have a small space for them.

      The amount sure does creep up on you! I need to start getting creative on how I can fit more in my room.

    I recently started doing puzzles on my own. It is my husband’s hobby but now it is minor as well. It is relaxing and I love putting the last piece on the puzzle. The tactile experience is perfect for me. I also love playing board games. I have built a decent collection of games and now puzzles. You did a great job organizing. I get what you say about having a place for everything to clear your mind.

      The organizing I did in the video was great for the collection I had at the time, but now its grown so much that I need to find/make more storage space. I'm sure it'll end up in another organizing video.
      I really do love board games as well. My husband is more into board games, and doesn't do puzzles at all. But he sure does like to buy them for me lol. He's built up the board game collection while I've built up the puzzle collection. Thankfully, my young daughter loves both so she greatly benefits from the collections :D

    If you aren't bothered about keeping the puzzle boxes you could put them in a folder file zipper bag from Amazon

      That sounds interesting, I'll look it up. I do have smaller sets that I may at some point toss out the boxes. Thanks for the tip!

    I have a cabinet and 2 small trunks...when those are all filled it's time to do them and pass on...I am anal I can't stand seeing all stuff hanging out on shelves 😂 😂...that's just me...

      @thepuzzledmandy  Рік тому +1

      Yea, its gonna be hard for to me give up some sets when it becomes too crazy lol. I do my best to keep things in order as I don't like too much clutter, especially if its random items.

    Why wouldn’t you keep all your puzzles on one bookshelf?

    • @thepuzzledmandy
      @thepuzzledmandy  Рік тому

      At the time, I wanted to keep my other books/collectables where I always had them. The layout/shelf space wasn't ideal then. But now that I have a new shelf, its all set up in a way that I'm happy with 😁

    I'm not one for going out much as I am deaf I find socialising very stressful. 🙁 I can cope with a one to one conversation with no background noise, but once the numbers go up and the noise gets louder my stress levels go through the roof. I really enjoy doing jigsaws 😄and have been doing them for over 50 years now. The majority of my jigsaws get passed on to the local community and I have about 11 that I have kept plus the Wentworth wooden jigsaws. Wentworth are a UK company based in the county of Wiltshire and I live in the UK so it is easy for me to order them. Storage is always a problem and not an easy one to solve. 🧩🧩

      I'm the type of person that can be very awkward when speaking to for the first time LOL, its my anxiety. I've only gotten a tiny bit better in conversation as I've gotten older. I do plan to pick up wooden jigsaws at some point, I'll look into Wentworth, especially when I head back to the UK again. My husband is from the UK too!

    Hello! I found your channel when Karen Puzzles overwhelmed me because of her speed and HUGE puzzles. Once I started watching her, more puzzle videos started appearing for me and there you, Thomas Kincaid and Walt Disney. It's amazing to watch you puzzle as I've improved on the skills and that's so rewarding. As for the time for oneself, I diamond paint and every June and December, my favorite diamond painting creator does Wip and Waffles where she makes a video a day (only 24 for Dec. as that's an Advent calendar) and she also reads comments from previous videos. It gets really fun because we get to know one another through those comments and Rebecca doesn't restrict the topics as long as there is no politics and religion as we don't want to get serious. Me, the class clown, I always try to find something that makes folks laugh and so my brain gets a good workout. Best part? My diamond painting stash gets a wee bit smaller with every picture completed. Right now I'm working on all my Van Gogh pictures and besides the one I'm dotting now, I have 5 left and one is HUGE! Plus I'm working on a London puzzle that is stumping me so my poor brain is working very, very hard!!

      Oh wow, it's nice to know that my videos are popping up alongside Karen's! I've seen so much about diamond painting, and it looks so relaxing to work on. I'm going to have to try it out at some point. I've seen a lot of fun images to work on. My stash is out of control now, as I keep buying more puzzles than I can complete LOL, but that's ok. To me, collecting is just as fun as puzzling.
