At what point do we have no need for people in the economy any more? Then how are we going to change the economy to account for the fact you can’t punish people for not being in work - since those jobs don’t exist.
One of the best keynotes on AI and the focus on the game changing side of it more than just average productivity gains and automating tasks. The disruption is comming we like it or not and the amount of resources AI is consuming is mind boggling; with such large scale innovation and disruption there will be plenty of bad actors that will cause more damage before the good is realized. So the road will be painful for the majority. This might feel like the eagle grinding its old beak to get a new extension on its life for most of us.

Absolutely! What we will do is reduce resistance to flow across all fields. Unbound universal knowledge. It's not about competitive advantage but deep collaboration. ❤️
He is right. There will be new trillion dollar companies. But they won’t need a lot of human employees. If there is no one with a job , who needs AI to design a new product or service if no one can buy it???
If you don't need labor which is the consumer now with no income to buy stuff, who will buy stuff? Only the billionaires. I don't know what this is. It isn't free market capitalism. It's back to feudalism i guess.
The new jobs will mostly be as overseers of autonomous agents, ie. Multiple specialist jobs (entire teams) to be replaced by 1-2 “middle managers”. Then AI will eventually do the management as well…
I believe that the effect, predicted by Karl Marx, that lower incomes for the bottom 90% and the consequent limits on their spending power has already reduced GDP growth in the US.
