FULL CAMPER CONVERSION - Installing Single Seat on my VIVARO and a RIB swivel base.

- Hi everyone,
I got so bored of the double bench seat in about 5 minutes after owning the van. Not only does it not recline but it’s also super uncomfortable.
In this episode I replace my bench seat with a seat from a Vauxhall Zafira. It reclines and also has lots of adjustment and is much more comfortable!
I have used industry standard fixings through the seat replacement to ensure all the work is ‘crash tested’. The seat base is crash tested and all filings used were 8.8/10.9 of higher (watch the video to find out!)
I haven’t fitted the seatbelt yet - but it just bolts on nice and easy.

Sorry I know you’ve addressed this already but can you confirm that you’ve managed to put a Vauxhall Zafira seat into a Vauxhall Vivaro? I am going to be replacing my double for a single with swivel soon and trying to find the cheapest option. (My van is 2005)

I used a Zafira seat yeah. although it did take some fettling to attack it to both the swivel base and also the seat base but that’s because my heater is under there and I needed the clearance. like I’ve always said do your own research - make sure to use the correct rated bolts for fixtures with the correct tensile strength.
Do you have a link for the swivels? Also which single seat did you use Mini, Audi, etc?
just google Kira Vans and they sell them! good price! I actually used a seat out of an older Vauxhall zafira or something but I did need to modify the fixing rails and use the correct strength bolts etc. the advantage of using a different seat is that it reclines and everything.
i am looking at completely removing passenger seat and fitting a fridge and extra battery facing into back my van may i ask when disconnecting the cables for passenger airbag system does it show on dashboard airbag light fault thank you
hiya - my vivaro did not have seat sensors and as I recall I don’t think it had airbag either - but I certainly didn’t remove any cables - what you see in the video is what you get really - literally no cables. sorry 😢

Hiya - yeah they are. If you think the double seat has these two ‘top hats’ welded on the back side of the seat and it has two ‘movable’ ones on the front that offset the seat from the rubber flooring. The single seat base has none what so ever - so I used the two loose ones from the double and then cut off the two spacers off the back of the double seat to create four spaces for the single seat base.
Where, did you get the seat to replace the standard double seat? Was it a vauxhall seat?
Just got it off facebook marketplace - yeah they were normal vauxhal seats but you have to make sure the mouting holes are the same distance for the single seat base. Got all 5 seats for £30 lol and took them allto the tip and kept the reclining seat. I would 1000% recommend getting a recliner seat as its way more comfortable flipped around.

thanks I think it was from a 2008/2010 one I’m not sure. but I still had to drill the spacer box section in any case! just make sure to use the 10.9 rated bolts and do your own research 💪🏻💪🏻

I used the ones from kira Vans just Google them. reasonable price and solid as a rock! also crash tested.
You didn't say what you did with the sensor wires, otherwise you will have a panel warning light come on. The single seat swivels easier and you have easy access to the rear, but that double seat is very useful. But good job...by the way you won't die, but I get the point.
the passenger seat (in my van) didn’t have any wires what so ever! so absolute win! every time I removed the driver seat I was mega careful not to turn the engine on and throw a code. wouldn’t matter anyway as I have a code reader - but yeah no wires for the passenger side!!

@@richard_builds_it Mine is an 08, so I don't know, they must be doing it some other way. Our double seat is the dog's bed.
Those swivels are stupid expensive, they're just two pieces of steel.
I know right! maybe because it has a crash test certificate - no idea just just need to test one lol. it was only about £200 so not super mad. but the doubles are twice that
