  • Hey everyone, heres a quick video of how I removed the bulkhead in my Vauxhall Vivaro. Now... I wouldn't consider this a tutorial of how to remove it as such, more of an insight into my 'method' as I'm sure there are much better practices for removing it.
Either way, if you're thinking of doing the same in your own Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic etc I hope you find it helpful to see what you might need to do!
Below is list of basic tools I used:
    - 1/2" Socket and Ratchet Spanner
    - Makita Impact Driver with Philips drill bit.
    - Torx/Star Head Screwdriver
    - Hammer and Flat head screwdriver (used for knocking the rivets off, in hindsight I would drill these out)
    Hope this helps!

Great stuff! Even just the rundown of how many fasteners needed to be removed is such a massive help! Thanks for uploading

Thank God I didn't have a bulkhead in mine. When in doubt use welly and wallop. Great video pal. Looking forward to more.

Thanks for the video, Alasdair. I noticed the panels were drilled and screwed into the vehicle walls. I did not drill a single hole into our van. I used "Nutserts" to use the existing holes in the vehicle.

To get the round bolts off you could have used a mole wrench, locked on then just turn and they will come out. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🚙

Handy to see it having a split bulkhead. You get the option of retaining the lower bit for some safety.

Heya, yes part of me was tempted to leave the lower section but I am planning on putting a rotating base on the passenger seats eventually, so took the entire lot out, cheers for watching!

@@alasdairpurkis5629 "a rotating base on the passenger seats" is that possible on the double seat? One of the reasons I am looking at Vivaro/Primastar range of vans is the capability of carrying 3 people upfront, (unlike the Mazda Bongo/ Ford Frieda) but the abiltiy to make the double seat accessible from the living area would be great.

The best way to remove pop rivets is to use a drill bit around 4-5mm (depending on size of rivet) and just drill the head a little bit until the head falls off. The way I learnt during my apprenticeship

Bit of advice for removing rivets - just use a drill with a steel drill bit and drill straight through it

Thanks for sharing. Like your sliding window in the back. Where did you get it?

What would you do if the key fob battery died and you got locked in the van? Serious question as I got locked in the back of my work van recently

Isn't there a handle on the inside to open the door?

What did you do, or are you still locked up in your vehicle? I would try to check the user manual..
