    This must be the first van conversion I've seen that has zero mistakes. I've seen better-looking ones (even though this looks fine to me) but with huge mistakes (bad insulation choices, wrong sealant on the roof vents, poor electrics choices, etc). This one is truly flawless. Good job.
    Guys, if you are watching this, feel confident to copy everything this guy has done because everything was done right.

      cheers my man! if you’ve done a build yourself you know but for me - every single thing that went on the van was a result of perhaps many hours of research to get the right parts. there are a few mistakes here and there but for the most part I’ve solved them all now. thanks a lot appreciate it. need to find the time to build another van!

    Great job mate, love your electrical panel, very neat, I was horrified at so many videos where the electrics looked like a bus load of ADHD kids have gone mental in a spaghetti factory, so much so I’ve decided to use a 3100 ah power station system with the charge controller and inverter built in, just the fuse box and hey presto, can be powered by alternator, solar and shore power, my ride will be a VW T4 LWB, when she comes back from the garage hopefully engine sorted, nasty bits welded, sealed, new suspension, hopefully a bare canvass ready for the build, thanks for your video picked up a couple of tips.

      sweet sounds like a great build!! I figured making it neat makes it easier to sort any problems if they exist! so far no problems - currently on a month trip in Europe and no issues what so ever 🤣🤣 I am electricity heavy now running fridge freezer fans all the usual chargers but the solar is really earning its keep!!!

    We are modeling our T6.1 camper conversion off this video :) Only difference we will have is that we plan installing the Clayton Powerunit. The Ply Guys do awesome work. Great looking van.

      that sounds amazing! I am currently in the Allgaü in southern Germany for a month and can confirm the ply guys pull out kitchen unit is so so useful! make sure to make a small ‘stop’ when you slide your bed units in it stops all the bed prices flying everywhere when you brake! good luck!!

    Great job buddy , I did one around 3 years ago , on a vauxhall vivaro short wheel base, I should have put a different configuration of the bed , situation, I put a rock and roll bed in , but not enough room , the next one will be a high cube long wheel base vehicle, any advice would be appreciated , keep the videos coming ,

      of course I’m currently doing the NC500 - so will update when I get home but all the furniture and the floor came from the theplyguys.co.uk based in Scotland. they also did the install and it looks so good.

      Yeah for sure - if you check out the seat instal video i think i make refrence to it - and also in the finishing touches video. I have used two spacers - and one of them is 40mm xox section i ordered online. You have to make sure you use crash rated bolts etc - do you own research on the requirements.

      Google the Ply Guys - Scottish based company - just google it and you’ll find them super easy. cost - many. 🤣🤣 about £3500/£4000 all in. expensive. but that included instal. worth it? absolutley. but on the pricey side.

    Hi there ,
    Do you have the measurements for the ceiling panel you installed, on another video you mentioned what a pain it was as you have to keep trimming , I’m currently converting my LWB and would be helpfull if could share aprox measurements to help save me time .
    Thanks

    • @richard_builds_it
      @richard_builds_it  5 місяців тому

      yeah sure thing let me check it tomorrow and get back to you. what ever you do don’t use 12mm ply 🤣🤣🤣 I reckon 6 would be okay depending on the thickness of the batons you use.

    • @richard_builds_it
      @richard_builds_it  5 місяців тому

      Right got them. It’s 245cm long by 151cm wide. but make sure to check the measurements. I bought a non standard sheer and had it cut to size but still had to trim it which was a pain. And I know I already mentioned but don’t use 12mm thick ply it’s far too heavy haha. Perhaps 6/9 but it’s your choice.

    • @678diego1

  • @vanlivingjoe
    @vanlivingjoe 21 день тому

    Not going to say you did a bad job on the sound proofing etc just unnecessary. You literally could've used half the amount on the walls. 1' squares and that would've been enough. Only place you need to cover are the wheel wells if you have them. Unless you don't like the rain it was a waste to sound proof the ceiling. Doing the cab was also not really needed.

    • @richard_builds_it
      @richard_builds_it  21 день тому

      I followed the videos from
      Combe Valley campers - they sell the ‘cab kit’ and l personally find in the winter it’s important to have the whole thing covered and insulated - as it was super warm and I had almost no condensation. also would of been a waste if I only used half of it 🤣
