Nice timing on this design, I'm considering getting barefoot ARs but I'm hesitant because there aren't any reviews of how well it works. I assume as this was specifically designed with barefoot in mind it should be good.
I love my barefoot African Rangers! Can y'all also look into a minimalist steel/comp toe for blue collar community? I use my African Rangers in my every day life and in my blue collar job, I couldn't be happier. There are some job sites though, that require steel toe boots, and that's something that the minimalist lifestyle hasn't quite reached yet. It is extremely slim pickings to barely find a zero drop steel toe, let alone them being quality material as well. The steel toe blue collar community is drastically lacking in a quality minimalist steel toe boot. I understand that steel toe takes away key mobility expected in a barefoot style boot, but if you are able to come up with something that just meets the typical work safety boot standards with a zero drop and wide toe box with quality leather, like @JimGreenFootwearOfficial. Then I believe you would be setting a standard and reaching a group that feels unheard. We would like someone to take up the challenge and I personally would like it to be y'all. Thank y'all again for an amazing product!
Next Collab idea: wide toe box MOTORCYCLE BOOTS! Still protective but zero drop with room for toes. Literally no one makes them. There is such a need for them in the minimalist shoe/rider community!
@@FishinFreak21 I really like having something with ankle protection and a stiffer sole, I have wrecked and ended up with my foot/ankle pinned under the bike and was totally uninjured because of the protection built into my boots... I sure would like some more toe space though!
Freaking amazing. I want them, but I don't NEED them. My barefoot Rangers are amazing and I need to find an excuse to buy these boots. Thank you Rose Anvil and Jim Green
I've been wearing Nicks boots for performing forestry work for years, but running and walking in barefoot running shoes is easier on my knees, so I just ordered a pair of the barefoot African rangers to try out at work. I'm worried they will be too short to provide the protection I need for walking through logging slash though. These African troopers look like just what I need! I also love how they do a throwback to WWII boot design.
I just received my ranger barefoot shoes today. Kinda wish I knew the longer boots were coming, but no time to waste…Im on my way to the Vet… cause these puppies are sick!
I have been waiting a long time for someone to make a barefoot boot like this it’s something that is absolutely needed in the barefoot market. Can’t wait to get a pair
I have plantar fasciitis, and can only wear barefoot shoes with wide toeboxes. The African Rangers are my favorite shoes of all time. Definitely picking these up!
these look so good. i really like how clean and streamlined the whole vibe is and i really like that sole. never knew about this style of boot before, but i really enjoy when there's a thinner sole
They have been a revelation. Took a week or so to stretch in my Achilles tendons but once I did they are the most comfortable boots I've worn. I rotate two pair as my everyday wear.
I have their barefoot AR. They are great for casual and work. I will wear them on projects that are in the finish stages. Wish I knew the Troopers were in the pipeline, i would have waited. These will be excellent for early season whitetail archery spot and stalk.
hope they add this to their customs page! love the AR8's if thats what theyre called off the top of my head, but not the cushioned top that they come with, this is essentially an AR8 upper without that cushion and I love the look
These are the COOLEST boots I’ve ever seen. I can see though from earlier comments that a BUNCH of people hate their feet and overall health. Guess they just like wearing high heels 😂
The black ones look sick. Looks like something I could wear to shows and be able to participate in circle pits with. Can't really run in my Whites MP...😅
Did you custom order them for the steel toe or comp toe? Or no? Also which ones would be more ideal for welding? These new tall ones or the short ones?
Love it. Please do a "how to care for these boots" demo with waterproofing, etc... Also, I would throw money at an insulated version for winter hunting or ice fishing.
Glad to see Jim Green is doing more barefoot styles. I love mine. Just noticed that they have a barefoot Stockman Chelsea boot. Gonna have to check that out!
I wanted a taller boot from my first pair of barefoot Rangers. Tried to special order a pair but that option was not available. I rotate two pair of barefoot Rangers as my everyday footwear and will absolutely get a pair of these. What time of day will the barefoot Troopers drop 6/27? I'd sure hate to miss out! I didn't care to wait until December so I ordered a custom pair of AR8's. I expect them by the end of July.
Bro! Those are 🔥! luv them. Is there a blkout pair thats all blk(eyelets and lace hooks included)(work requires all blk)and are there a composite or hard-toe style? Would luv to try these for work.
I'd love to see a pair of zero drop, wide toe box workboots come onto the market. Especially safety toe models with a beefy sole. I don't know of anything like that that exists currently.
Wuld love to see Weston and JG's take on a Tanker. Thant may be outside JG's wheel house, but i think with thier leathers and construction it would make for a great, decently priced Tanker that isnt really out there now.
Ultimatley, because of your video series barefoot february, I got into barefoot shoes. After a year almost all my shoes are now barefoot/ zero drop style. I have been looking to replace my traditional hiking boot for something zero drop and durable. I was considering the Lems SUmmit, but after seeing this, i might have found what i am looking for.
Is there more room for the big toe to splay on this vs. the first Jim Green / Rose Anvil collab? That was the only reason I had to return mine and I'd love to hear this one is more barefoot oriented.
Hello. I have pair in my cart right now. Just curious if I can split the payment between two credit cards or PayPal Pay in 4. I can't find those options on the Jim Green website. Just wondering if my question is a possibility. Thank you so much for your time. The boot looks freakin' AWESOME. I absolutely LOVE it.
Wish they came stock as double lasted but I am definitely getting a pair. Looks like the upper hugs the ankle a little better than the AR8s. My stock ar8s and custom pair both max out around my ankle when I since them down. These look to have more of the PNW curves that match the body. I'd love to see a durability comparison between the different JG leathers. Cheers guys, love the work you are doing 🤙🏼
I’d like to do away with the midsole altogether with a Norwegian storm welt, the same outsole with recessed stitching. Any midsole gaps can be filled with loose cork
looks like an amazing boot! it's great to see more flat soled, wide-toe leather boots out there. So how wide is the insole in the toes? and how will it hold up in mild to moderate rain? is there any insulation or it's just a single sheet of leather?
@@Podjr I'm with you though, if a 670-1 compliant boot of this quality was available I'd buy it instantly. Wearing through the mass produced stuff every other year is getting old.
I would love to have a pair of these. I would have bought some previous collaborations but actual wide sizes are never offered. "Wide toe box" is not enough. EEE on my left, F on my right for Whites. Had my Nick's fitted and I have been a Russell customer long enough to have my own last. Show a little love to the flipper footed?
Wide toe box EH composite toe boots In the construction industry you are required to have a safety toe boot. They do not make them with a wide enough toe box for soo many people. So the solution is to upside your boots to a point to get your toes back in the safety toe cap enough so they are bearable. It would change people in the construction industry’s daily lives significantly wearing something compliant and comfortable.
I've been wanting a pair like these since the original BF dropped, granted I would want the fudge with the fuzz on the outside then the would be AR670-1 compliant so I could use them for military use. The only 0 drop wide tb is the mini mils but they don't hold a candle to my JG
I just returned from an over 2 week hike in the Himalayas... Every step I kept asking myself why don't we have a decent pair of barefoot boots made? Would love to own one pair of it doesn't break my bank
Would you say the Russell was the first barefoot boot? You can't deny some of the similarities between this and the Russel. I love my barefoot Rangers, I'll pass on this but very much support the brand.
Love barefoot shoes and sandals in summer. Love GYW/Heritage style boots in other season. I've been dreaming of a crossover that would look good. Haven't found it yet. This looks as bad as the other attempts I have seen so far. I suppose it's not possible to make a good looking barefoot boot. I'm sure these Jim Greens are great quality, very comfortable and great value! But they still look horrible to me. I guess I'll continue to keep these two hobbies separate. Closest thing I've found to what I want so far are a pair of Nicks in their Thurman last. As from all the "barefoot" elements I find the wide toe box to be key. Zero heel drop, no arch support and a thin flat sole are a bonus in my mind. I think the zero heel drop is the main thing that makes me dislike barefoot boots aesthetically.
When I first saw the thumbnail pic, I thought these looked like a ruggedized JG version of the boot-height Minnetonka moccasins that one of my high school friends wore everywhere...
Would these be a wise choice for someone with a flat foot, but skinny. I am a C width in Allen Edmonds, but I have fairly wide across the ball/widest part. I usually find, if a shoe doesn't fit me well, it is about heel slip and just having to strangle the laces to shore up the width.
I love the idea but hate the execution. The tow bow doesn’t have the same toe bump as the vintage paratrooper boots. Hope a second version is made available in a year because philosophically I love them but the silhouette from the side looks so comically absurd.
I don" t understand how the heel area wouldn't wear out in a couple of months. For me it would. Maybe if I trained myself to walk a certain style, which is unlikely. I dunno, it doesn't seem workable to me. Now with a wedge sole, or low heel or something, it seems like the uppers could be a nice boot....
Barefoot African Troopers live now get them here - bit.ly/3zyGNQh
Delivery starts early December
hey rose, are you able to sprint (not run) in these boots? I have the og african ranger 8s and tbf they are too big but i cant really sprint in them.
They looking good! Love how the boot came out in the end. All the samples and time paid off 🥾 looking forward to this one
As someone with flat feet, is there a chance there will be a non-zero-drop version of this? Perhaps with a custom order?
Nice timing on this design, I'm considering getting barefoot ARs but I'm hesitant because there aren't any reviews of how well it works.
I assume as this was specifically designed with barefoot in mind it should be good.
What would you recommend for casual to work use, the barefoot or standard African ranger?
Bravo Jim Green, bravo! Love from your home town (well Dargle to be more specific)
