  • Hello everyone :)
This week I’ve been thinking a lot about #communication and what it means to share.
As #minimalists, we might not always have a lot of ‘stuff’ to give - but we can still share in other ways.
And the beautiful thing about #minimalism is that when we share these intangible things,
We’re able to allow others to discover what they can share as well!
    Enjoy🤍

I appreciate your philosophical views on life. You are a thoughtful thinker who really seems to appreciate and understand all the complexities of people and life ❤

Thank you :) I try to think about life & why people behave the way they do. Of course I don't believe in enabling negative behaviors and it's impossible to meet everyone's needs. But trying to understand others and at least wish them growth knowing we're all flawed in some ways definitely helps me stay positive. Have a lovely day!

Hi Joy! You make a great point about communication. For example, when you said being busy to you means more than just work. I know you work on multiple things like your business, your degree and teaching job and I think it's great that you clarified that going in nature or spending time with people is also included in that statement. It's important to keep balance in life but it seems to be difficult the more things one has going on.
Will you do a declutter of clothes when you switch over from winter to summer?
Thank you for the nice home tour, as always!

Hi, thanks always for a thoughtful comment! Yes I’ve learned to include things like resting & spending time with people I like & playing in the definition of “being busy”. I’m not sure if I’ll declutter any winter clothes, because I’ve already decluttered quite a bit of them🤭 These days I declutter little bits here and there instead of “one big declutter” events I used to have! Glad you enjoy my videos, have a great upcoming week!

i think communication is in itself consideration, which is a form of how we can give or receive love! it takes work & i'm trying to get better at it in my friend & familial relationships. hope you have a great week, joy!
I also appreciate what you said about potentially being able to not be defensive when hearing the same advice twice. with my adhd I usually need to get advice twice in order to thoughtfully take the same constructive criticism. for example if my sister tells me to clean up better after doing crafts in our common space, I need to hear it once or twice before I can start consciously paying attention to my actions where she feels I can contriute more, so I can intentionally focus better.
I often feel shameful about needing to hear the same thing twice and it has hurt some relationships I've had in the past, but your words made me feel a bit more confident about taking up the space that I need to do my best & learn from my friends. Communication is something that i'm sure will be best done in this case when I do it beforehand, or if I don't have the ability to forsee a potential miscommunication before a conflict can happen, remember your words so I can communicate that I appreciate getting the same advice twice to my loved ones.

Right? It takes effort to communicate for sure, that’s why I appreciate it when people do it :) I also find myself communicating only if there’s hope it’ll be heard🤭 Hope everything’s going well with you Haley. Have a wonderful weekend🙏💓

@@gallerybyjoy i understand that. Being heard was not a common occurence in my past so i'm working on trusting my friends to hear me out now despite negative past experiences. live & learn lol

@haleyh9875 I think I can relate Haley. Learning to speak up while also being careful not to get hurt too much or put ourselves in unwanted situations is a balancing act🫶 Glad you’re working on this aspect as well. Take good care ♥️♥️
