Another super video chaps! Loved every minute. Nice to see a few Codling on camera, especially so early in the season, hopefully a sign of good things to come! :-)
My prayers have been answered! Thanks for this episode!

great video guys
You should try beach fishing from Penmaenmawr one day. Usually there is lots of codling hanging round the shores in the Autumn!
Brilliant
well done.
great video .the longer the better
it looked like he was about to launch that fish back into the water for a second , when he said its best to get themback in as soon as possible >') lmfao (18.45)
We were fishing of the rocks at a place called mossyard on the solway firth ,pitch black
It's always nice to see anglers respecting the fish can't see much of this here shame I do enjoy the show though
I believe that man caught the salad for dinner. 18:10
nice video Graeme
Top video as always! Always enjoy the shore ones. Love the bit of banter at the end as well! Keep up the good work
Great video guys, made me think about the hook sizes I'm using. Might rehook some rigs tonight. With luck I'll be able to get more small fish back to the sea. Love the hair do, but the lipstick didn't match I'll have to lend you mine. What was the average rod length used on that day? They looked mostly over 12 foot but it's hard to tell. Many thanks!
Great video. At around 9 min theres mention of a "rotter" "s clip", any info on how these are made or where to buy, looks like an interesting rig Iv not come across!!!
Thx
nice Bass there and the Cod wasn't bad either.
I'd take that one home for tea !!
could you do a float fishing on canals video
can you do a float fishing on canals video
Always love your sea fishing videos, Graeme. Definitely need to take Mike down with you for another session with these boys.
Only catching Codling off the Cornish coasts at the mo (over the past few weeks)... and the odd Black Bream.. *cough* one Black Bream.
Watched this second time around and would like to know about that disgorger Charlie used. Also, can you tell me how to get the lug worms to go over the hook loop and the knot without bursting them. I tried to get a good view of the disgorger but couldn't, it looks really effective. I was pulling whiting out wholesale the other night, all small and doubt many survived. They can be frustrating at times and after an hour of them taking my bait more so than crabs. Many had swallowed the hook out of sight and had to be put down.
Use a grinner knot to tie your hooks on, the tag faces up the snood and the worm can slide over it easily. It also stops the worm from sliding back down over the hook too!
bustedcrunk Hey thanks for your reply. I do use those knots, I like the way the tag end points up like that but I still burst the worms it's costing me fish because I'm loosing the scent before I get them in the water. I have more luck with fresher worms but still too many burst ones. They either go inside out or burst. Maybe it's how I'm handling the whole thing. Anyhow, I appreciate your help, thank you.
Try using a baiting needle if you aren't already?
bustedcrunk OK, thanks. I do use one occasionally although they are easy to loose at night. I also have some crochet pins that are a touch thicker so might hold the hole open a bit more. Thanks again for your help and interest in my problem.
as a total noob how often do u recast wen fishing off the beach ???
Difficult to say.15 to 20 mins unless bait is being stripped by crabs.
Hi there can anyone give me the name of the music track u use in your videos please
I know its an old bit of footage , but where is this ? I live in Somerset and have only gone on the South coast . I would love to catch a cod in the Bristol Channel but havent got a clue where to go.
Contact your local tackle shop for areas. They know where to fish at what state of tide.I can't remember the name of this spot, but its quite close to Minehead
Thanks for getting back to me . Love the show , great tips and very funny in places . Tight lines .
Did you go to the left or the right of the car park?
I can't remember how long the car park was. There were guys catching to the right as we talked to them.I think it must have been the left side.
When i fished here the tide came in and out so fast didnt seem that long to fish. Thats the only reason i don't like bristol channel goes in and out to fast and i hate lumping my stuff up and down the beach. Is there a ledge bit further out that can be fished for longer? I live between here and chesil but its chesil most the time. Im looking to get my first bass? Cheers
its the right of the car park
It does seem a shame with the effort of getting to the water, cost or effort of bait , the heavy weights used and cost of tackle and the average size of the fish is what we catch on our local canals.I suppose its a sure sign of the damage commercial fishing does, not only to the fish stocks but also the reefs and prey food .
how good is Shakespeare beachcaster beta 3 piece .... HOW MUCH CAN IT HOLD........ please do reply

Love the video. Where I fish for bass you can get 10lb bass However I keep getting 1lb bass instead. Is there any way to avoid this?
bigger hook, bigger bait maybe
Fish a whole mackerel, bigger the better. Cut away the flesh on the sides so the guts hang out and use 2 large hooks (pennel rig) to present it. You wont be able to cast that far due to the size of the bait, but you dont need to for Bass. Your mates will stop laughing at you for the size of the bait when you start pulling in the lumps! Trust me, it works for the bigger fish.
Thx for this. I tried it once and had no success but I will keep trying.
ok
TAFishing Hi i am looking for a decent and robust fixed spool reel as i just managed to snap my other one in half (God only knows how it happend???) Please could you give me any ideas of reels that are any good for around my 30 to 40 pound buget. thanks, keep up the good videos lads !!!
Try ou the penn surfblaster
thanks mate! i just bought a mitchell 8000 reel and it is just what i was looking for but thanks again for the response! cheers
do cod fight hard?
Peter G a bit. It's like pulling in a big weight. Sometimes they give a good fight tho
Not really
A mate of mine said when you are bass fishing at night ,you have to avoid shining your head light onto the water as this spooks the fish ,any truth in this
+Jim Mcgeachy Could well be on a dark beach, but Bass around piers, jetties, fishing boats etc see plenty of lights and movement so are less likely to be bothered.
yes that is correct mate! especially if you are fishing a shingle beach like the famous Chesil in dorset. If you are targeting bass at night then you'll need to make your light as dim as possible, or even turn it completely off.
theyre blow lug, baby black lug basically
Im not so sure about that as black lug are a totally different species to blow lug 😊
Why don't they eat the fish? Granted some of them are too small but a few of those bass were big enough.
they might not have really wanted it. Only take a fish if you are 100% going to use it, otherwise just put it back to get bigger for future catches
I think i met that girl from Burnham as well... thank god for penicillin 😂
Should of put that Bass back alive
ChalkysPlanet defo not
Sadly enough our bait shops NEVER seem to have fresh worms. Usually they are on the verge of dying. Even the frozen ones are utter crap (completely flat and literally stinking up the place from miles away once thawed). The rag worms are very tiny too, as in not even the length of a child's pinky and only last for maybe 2-3 days, even when taken care of them properly at home (fresh newspaper every day or kept in cooled and aired seawater that is changed daily). Just had to throw away another batch that I had bought just two days ago. 8 euros down the toilet. SMH
Tonight I'm going to try a combination of mackerel with razor clams. Who knows, maybe the fish will like those better over here than those crappy worms (Belgian coast). There are literally millions of empty razor clam shells to find on our beach, so my guess is that fish here do feed themselves big time with those. Wish me good luck! :) Maybe tonight will be the night to catch my first keeper (wife has the frying pan already set ready on the stove LOL).
I have to say I have been buying pretty shocking worms all this year..maybe it was the hot weather, but they were soft and never seemed to keep or last, even when kept cool,so I can sympathise with you.
@TaFishing
Well, strangely enough today I was able to get my hands on very nice looking black worms. They are still moving, plenty fat and no stinky-stinky situations. But I have to admit, I did order them in front (yesterday evening) in a bait store about 25km's further than the one I usually get my bait from. And got them this morning. Beautiful fresh worms that will attract fish without a doubt, yet cheaper than what I pay for them in my local bait shop. So I'm starting to get really suspicious about my local store. It starts to feel as if they are willingly ripping me off, simply because I'm a female in a man's world, if you get my point. I know it sounds corny, but my suspicions are being enhanced by the fact that the 10 men fishing alongside me at the shore yesterday DID have very nice looking worms, very lively and fresh. Yet bought at the local shop without pre-ordering them and some even bought them after I got the reply that "they were out of worms". Pisses me off, for real. Luckily my fellow fishermen were nice enough to "sell" me a few lugs (traded them for a few cans of beer LOL), so that at least I had something proper to fish with. *Shout-out to those men!!*.
