- Here is my solo etude dedicated to my former teacher Douglas Sommer who passed away in year 2014. He was an Atlanta Symphony bassist for 25 years, and was also an incredible role model for young bassists.

This is a fantastic and moving tribute for a spectacular man. I studied with Doug Sommer when I was in high school. He profoundly influenced my life. These many years on, I still live the lessons he taught me. Xavier, I've loved watching you play and listening to your music. Keep it up!
How do even compose something that beautiful? Love it, the small pauses, your expressivity, everything on point.

I love the harmonic movements in the double stops. I'm not sure if the quote of "Everything Happens to Me" was intentional, but it's beautiful. Thank you! We need more champions of the double bass like you! It is such a joy to have new repertoire for solo bass to work on.
