    You seem happier in this video, almost like you've learnt the mentality and the ways of Ghana. I couldn't agree more, Ghanas progress is slow yet sure so it takes patience to live there. Ive heard many testimonies of the healing power of Ghanas sun. Good to see you

    Love your energy. Any developing country will be easy to build a home because there's a lot of flat, unused land lol hence why it's 'developing'! :) It's like Philippines, where my Mom's from. she got people to build a nice house from the ground up. it's a blessing that we are able to even do that kinda thing in these days . I agree wit u! then when u go back home u have a nice place to stay too.

You seem sure of yourself that's good, I think it's good you promote your country especially ghana ... in your previous video I saw your construction and I am very surprised that you have too many outputs to connect contacts or electric breakers, they are too many, you do not need so many, with a single power down is enough to have barias exits, take care that god bless you ... kisses

    May I ask what kind of visa you have? Are the visa laws strictly enforced? For example, in many countries you can obtain a long-term "business" visa, which does not technically allow you to work. However, in practice you can do some forms of "work" in the sense that you have to guide and oversee the development of your business and even doing some of the things that employees need to do... simply because sometimes they don't know or have not been trained to do the task yet. So, is a person allowed to take on these roles in a small business he or she creates? In practice is it allowed?

    They still ask for a couple of thousand dollars in property taxes to pay for their overpaid police, fancy pig cars, and prison plantations where whorprations work their slaves.

    The fruit?, You've got to be kidding! Oh, OK, you live in the UK, so I suppose I should give you a bit of leeway there. Having spent over a year in the UK recently, I can say that finding good quality fruit was not easy, and finding fruit that was good quality and affordable was sometimes impossible. So yes, compared to that situation, you could be forgiven for saying fruit in Ghana is a Positive. But really, you mention bananas, pineapple, and mangoes, and that is in fact all you have. I suppose it is possible that, being a UK resident, you've never actually seen other good fruit in your life.
    But where are the strawberries, cherries, melons, grapes, apples, pears, oranges, tangerines, etc, etc? The average Ghanaian has no clue what a real orange is, as the stuff sold as "orange" on the streets looks to be some orange-lemon-grapefruit hybrid or something like that. The only real orange I saw was in Accra Mall supermarket, at a price of about 14cds a kilo in about 1999. The watermelons are poor, as they are always small and relatively tasteless. I don't know if it is a poor variety or if they are picked too early because the people can't wait to get them to the market for sale.
    And now the prices: there is always the argument that some things are expensive in Ghana because they are imported, but how can locally grown produce be more expensive than in some places in Europe? For example, the aforementioned oranges; the poor quality watermelons are also high; the bananas; even freaking onions and tomatoes are expensive!
    It appears to me that only a relatively small percentage of the population in Ghana is aware that they are being royally ripped off. Given the relatively low cost of labour and real estate compared to the West, many things should be much, much cheaper that they are.

    • @poetwithabrush
      @poetwithabrush 7 років тому +1

      Bill Friedman you should have a Ghanian assist you. I had no prob with fruit and GMO is outlawed. I never got ripped off

    • @bxf99999
      @bxf99999 7 років тому +1

      +Essence Champagne Well, I was rather specific with my comments. Which of them do you disagree with? And, what is your frame of reference? If UK, then I've already indicated that you may be forgiven for not realizing that your choice in fruit is very limited. If only Ghana, then your opinion is not worth anything, as it has nothing to compare it with.
      "I never got ripped off". Again, what are you basing that on? If I say that I can buy fruit and vegetable in Europe, where people earn much more than in Ghana, for less than I have to pay in Ghana, then that is a rip-off. What is your definition of a rip-off? Compared to levels of Income, food in Ghana is wayyy overpriced.
      Oh, and my wife is Ghanaian, and I've spent months driving around Accra, Tema, Prampram areas. I suspect that PART of the problem is too many middlemen between grower/fisherman and the final seller, each one adding their profit to the price.

    • @poetwithabrush
      @poetwithabrush 7 років тому

      Bill Friedman if we are going with the basis that my opinion is not a strong reference for an argument than that destroys the basis for your rant. As it is the same as mine: opinion not fact. Also I think it is lovely you have a Ghanaian wife I have a Ghanaian husband. Now I can't compare any of my experiences to those in UK. That's your experience...so if you feel you were ripped off based on that ok.. Fine. Im from the US and I don't think I was ripped off based off what we pay for organic foods here. I just found that when I went to the market, any market place, the prices were negotiable. I loved that when my husband was with me, or anyone else that was a native, would assist me with haggling.

    • @poetwithabrush
      @poetwithabrush 7 років тому

      Bill Friedman I spent my time in Accra and Cape Coast. Accra was more expensive than Cape Coast but again I was able to haggle.

    • @bxf99999
      @bxf99999 7 років тому

      Essence Champage I said your opinion is not worth anything IF your only shopping experience is in Ghana. i.e. for all I knew when I was writing, you are a Ghanaian who has never been anywhere else, and hence have no basis of comparison. I was not trying to be insulting.
      What I said about fruit in the UK is that it is not very good, and very expensive, so that in comparison to that, Ghana may appear OK. Also, my rant related to the relative lack of choice. Again, where are the cherries, strawberries, real oranges, melons, etc, etc?
      I don't know if your reference to US organic produce prices is necessarily the most valid comparison. Why organic, which is always more expensive in the West? 14cds for a kilo of oranges (seven years ago) is not ridiculous? 5cds for a kilo of onions (five years ago) when I can buy that in Portugal for 60 cents? How much do you pay for watermelon in the US, and how much in Ghana? Again, take into consideration the much lower incomes of Ghanaians compared to those of Westerners. It's not necessarily always practical or convenient to go to Accra market, where I suppose prices would be better. But when I see piles of hundreds of watermelons along the roadside, outside of Accra, and they want 5cds a kilo (several years ago), what is the justification?
      I took the time to rant because I perceived the video as confirming the fact that many Ghanaians are simply unaware that they are being taken for a ride in many cases, and it could be useful if enough people were to wake up to this nonsense.

  • @danielarthur6974
    @danielarthur6974 5 років тому

    Oh really??? All the negative you said... And all you can say for positives are "sun", "food", "meet new people" 😳
    Are you Ghanaian??

    • @TheOnlyWayIsGhana
      @TheOnlyWayIsGhana  5 років тому +1

      There’s no ‘all the negatives’ it was 10 of each, so don’t get your point 🤷🏿‍♀️

    • @danielarthur6974
      @danielarthur6974 5 років тому +1

      okay... But by "all the negatives" I meant the nature or kind of negatives you said about Ghana.. I was expecting something more soothing than just "learn a new language", "meet new people" and "sun".. These are basic things I believe will even exist in hell lol.. I just wanted you to do the Ghana hype better than this.. 🤔 and i think the price for "a malaria tablet" you gave in the negatives was wrong.
      I think you're doing a great job though.. Next time show the nice things and places Ghana 🇬🇭🇬🇭😊. I will finance your 'expensive' cost of internet.. Even though I don't agree it's that expensive as you stressed on? I think it's affordable
