Hired a 2021 330i a year ago and was amazed by it. Would I spend 100k on this 2023 model if I had the coin? Doubt it. I'd either get the 2020-21 model or fork out the extra and get the 340i as mentioned.
Im from America but im about to get this car paying about 52grand USD. The fact that this car is 100k usd In Australia is INSANE!! Deff not worth 100k.
93k AUD doesn't convert to 100k USD. It converts to around 62k USD. Still a 10k mark up on USA pricing though, not including luxury car tax, on roads etc etc.
the 330i is a b48 2.0L and the 340 is a b58 3.0L. paying more for the car performance is great, but hardly you can test out its full potential on aussie road as there are plenty of speed camera at every corner
Nearly all cars (and properties, houses, apartments) are much more expensive in Australia right now because the global supply chain is still unstable. Cars and construction materials all need to be imported from overseas. And because of the chip crisis, many new BMW cars that come to Australia this year do not have options like 5AU L2 driving assistant, ACC, parking assistant plus (360 view cam) and Harman Kardon sound system.
Actually I think times like these gives the manufactures the excuse to gouge and gouge hard as a 30% price hike is way beyond the pale. The comment about the missing options due to lack of supply should in theory make the price cheaper, not more expensive.
Yes but how long are companies going to continue with that excuse? It’s like they’re just riding the coattails of Covid to continue unmitigated price gouging.
keep the car for a day and you will realise where that extra money has gone. this car is smooth, fun to chuck around the corners and very quiet even on shitty melbourne roads
One of the biggest issue of 330e is that it's EV range is only around 37km. Nowadays, even those cheap $20k - $56k cars like BYD Qing or Han DM-i PHEV Hybrid sedans have 55/121/242 km pure EV range.
Trying to replace my 2016 206tsi Passat Rline with a comparable engine is really difficult given wait times and not liking the new arteon. Stuck between the price of a 340i which I'd love but can't justify the 90k upwards on dealer demo or new and interestingly came to the same conclusion as you guys. Pre face lift 330i with shadowing pack, just have to find one now!
And that's just another problem with you car reviewers. You comment and care about stuff the typical buyer wouldn't care for. Anybody that wants fun will buy a gocart not a sedan.
Sarcastic comment, sure, but a Ranger is not a car. It's a commercial vehicle bogans consider is the latest and greatest, like they used to with Falcadore Ute's.
If that had a manual i'd buy in an instance!! Why BMW!!! Why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you really don't care for your enthusiast market that made you the company you are today...✊
In Australia, this is the best handling rear wheel drive 3 Series option before the M3. You have obviously not driven any of these cars to just consider "power".
@@leemace9638 Hardly. Went from an M2 to an M340i because I needed the back seat room for a baby seat. Nice try though, maybe one day you could afford a $100k+ BMW as well....or maybe not.......🤣🤣🤣
@@baysidelad1 haha as a qantas captain and a wife as a barrister I can afford it but I still prefer value for money u could say tight ass lol and I’m not a brand snob but nice try if you could afford it you should have brought an M3 🤣🤣🤣

geez, it’s 50k€ in europe
It’s cheap in Australia. In Singapore it’s 169k USD
@@TaanielMalleusIt starts(!) at €60K in the Netherlands…..
Are Americans dense on purpose? Genuinely baffling
Just saw one on the road, in black. Looked great, even better in the flesh!
The cupholders are removable and can be place further up where those two dividers are. Those can also be swapped to the back.
The standard remains the benchmark. I have always loved the 3 series and I am getting close to getting one!

Are there any hardware differences over the 320i or does the extra power just come from pushing more boost through the same turbo?
I know for a fact you could chip boost 520i/D to gain additional 40-50HP with a software update only
All non m 3 series use the b48 which only differs in Software so yea, even the 318i can have 330i power which a stage 1 remap
for a lease of about 600 a month i’m getting this in late fall early winter

The whole world is similarly affected, actually

I bought my 330i with an msport kit for 82 k in 2020
Loss of physical climate controls and that price are instant deal breakers.

nah it's more then 37 km. It does about 50 km, 70 in perfect conditions

340i is amazing
this car for every indian CPA accountant
this or BYD Seal Premium? hmm
The BMW is a much, much nicer car to drive, but it's also a lot more money!
1:19 100 grand for 2L 3 series? Is that true? Lol
Sure is!
A 330i and a M330i are completely different beasts. The M will. make it stiffer with more HP.
I got my 2019 m sport for 50k cad last year
This is in Australia, not Canada.
Awesome review
This is what I'm getting when i win lotto

One car to do everything , so it competes with the Ford Ranger ?
What? How can you compare a luxury sedan to a work Ute? That is like comparing apples to oranges.

An expensive option compared to my 2021 Passat but a lovely car
Haha! Yeah, or compared to a Barina.
Glad to own the F30 generation. The new design interior design language from BMW is a joke.

The right car at tooo high price. Cant afford 100k for weekend drive.
Pre-LCI was a bargain
4 cyl and that price🤮
Mate even c63 and 4 cylinder these days. But yea doesn’t seem right.

Got this car with 4k miles from the dealer for below 25k. Market is breaking boyssss
Buy a Kia stinger GT before they end production 👍🇦🇺
