    I just installed the 13" shocks in my 2015 Tri Glide which also has the comfort lift already installed. The results were amazing! My trike truly glides now and it is fun to ride again. Even my wife is asking to go for rides when she did not before due to how harsh the ride was no matter what I did. I was going to also work on the front suspension but now I don't have to. All the issues I was having was due to the poor stock suspension. Worth every penny!

    I bought a pair for my 2016 Tri Glide. First thing I noticed was it didn’t kill my back going over the rail road tracks by my house. Took 2000 mile trip to WV riding through the mountain roads and gravel to get to our cabin. Big improvement over the stock shocks.

    I'm glad that those shocks are U.S., and not just assembled here, or with parts made somewhere else. I have 2 stock 2003 883 Sportsters, one with a wide glide triple tree. I have no idea what I should get. What can y'all tell me, to help me know which size and type to get? I don't want to lower my bike. I do want it to handle well, in the curves, but I don't want that weird look of an extremely high rear fender, with the top of the tire showing. I don't weigh a lot, but I want to be able to carry a lot or a passenger, without any issues.
    Also, will y'all be making continued improvements, based on feedback, like the guy on the trike had?

    • @DKCustomProducts

      Last question first....we just finished a 2 year R&D to get them the best we can. That is not to say that we are not constantly looking to improve, but it is going to be awhile before we go down that road.
      Your Sportys either have 12" or 13" shocks. If you like the height you have now, measure them with a tape measure, center to center of the top and bottom shock bolts, and that is the length.
      Then go to this link for the Sporty Shocks- www.dkcustomproducts.com/rear-shocks-c651-258.htm

      The best option are the AK-20's, the next are the FST's and the best bang for the buck are springs and Intiminators. The data is in the report linked above.
      Below is a link of a deep dive video into the Intiminators. This is what I am running on my Tri Glide. Previous Tri Glide I ran the AK-20's and they were great, but they are not 4 times better than the Intiminators, I am quite happy with them.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Рік тому

      I see you are probably asking for a Touring model, specifically about the 14" shocks that need a lowering block.
      The valving is the biggest difference. The deluxe are very good shocks, some of the best prior to the NEXGEN™. But the NEXGEN™ 13" shocks have the same 4" of travel as the taller deluxe shocks, so no lowering block is needed, AND the IAS discussed in the video is a Major step forward in shock tech, delivering a much better ride quality.

    Hey guys, several thoughts. Wondering if you did any testing that compares to the last time you did shocks, like go over that bridge bump and measure. Wouldn't it be advantageous to do that and then compare these new results to the old ones? Instead it seems you are basing results on personal "feel", which we all know is subjective. So I have your comfort lift on my "21 TriGlide with stock shocks, which I believe are 13" shocks, so if I upgrade I'd have to get the 13" ones? And if I wish the 14" shocks I'd have to get a different Comfort Lift? I heard you guys....... they have the same amount of travel (4"), but there's got to be some kind of advantage to having anther inch in a shock. Most, if not all, videos you do are top rate, with facts backing up your products with tests and even some third party verification (like your breather systems). If this was meant as just an introductory video, fine. But it didn't prove anything to me to go and buy these based on being better than what I have. Maybe something else is coming??

    • @rfuller5657

      Thanks for the comment and for your business. We appreciate it.
      If it were me, I would use the Comfort Lift you now have and use the 13" NG Trike Series Shocks. Saves $ and time installing, AND gives 95% as good a ride improvement as going with the different lift and 14" shocks.

    One things for certain, there is always something better out there. My focus was simply to have a ride quality that my wife and I could go out and ride all day and not be beat up when we got home. I am of the older generation I’ve got low back problems as well as a bruised tailbone that requires me to get off the bike once in a while to relieve. we are on our third set of shocks including the stock garbage that comes on a new M8…. Buying the second set, a pair of progressive 444’s was a noticeable improvement, took those off and spent another grand on a set of Legend…. Doing that Swap over the last two years has cost me roughly $1600…. Not to mention the Legend Axio front end to the tune of $1600 again…. Needless to say I won’t be upgrading shocks again. This shit is bloody expensive. That being said, I love my Legend setup and have no reason to switch out (and if I did my wife would divorce me)

      @@DKCustomProducts I guess my point is, when does a person stop? When do you realize that you’ve spent enough money? I had no personal idea what it was gonna take for me to get this bike comfortable for us until I was about three years into it and my wife took detailed spreadsheets of all the money and items spent on my bike. To this date I think I am somewhere around $20,000 over what the bike originally cost….. none of these items were in my budget. I quickly realized that I had fallen in a pit. I wasn’t soon to get out of. I will say that I have learned enough to make my own UA-cam channel and a lot of content on it.🤣🤣🤣

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Рік тому +1

      @@jeffreyengle2762 I hear ya for sure.
      Example: On my 2014 Tri Glide I had the AK-20's for my front suspension. Easily the best front suspension for a Harley. I really liked it too.
      However, on my 2019 I made the choice to go with the intiminators and springs, which are 1/4 the cost of the AK-20's, but 60% as good as the AK-20's.
      I asked myself if I wanted to spend that much extra $ to get a 40% improvement....if I was a younger, more aggressive rider, I probably would.
      Priorities change, evolve, what is important to one is not to another. What was important 10 years ago, might not be anymore. What was Not important 20 years ago, may be very important now.
      It's a question everyone has to answer.

      Good to hear you are happy with your Bitubo's. 👍😎👍
      Everybody has different sensitivities on what they are looking for in suspension. When we tested the Revo-A's we were very disappointed. So much so that we thought the front and rear we got were defective and we got another set. Same results. But we were comparing 13" with 13".
      The 444's have FST and shim valving. For whatever reason, the FST tech in the front works very nicely, but did not experience that in the rears.
      Is it worth it to upgrade from the Bitubo's? What is worth it to one may not be to another. If I had Bitubo's and was happy with them, I would not spend another grand to get a 20% improvement. If I was going from Stock, I would spend the grand to get the best possible ride.

      @@fslade4444 Lots of folks do that. I have done that. There is no downside on handling for doing that.
      You can do that with most shocks on most bikes.
      However, you cannot do that on the 13" NexGen™ 13" shocks on a Touring model, because with the 4" of travel you can have rear tire clearance issues with the fender. You can run lowering blocks with the Sporty and Dyna with the 13" NexGen™, and you can run the 13" Twin Adjustable with any model, including the Touring.

    I have a 2022 SgS and need shocks desperately.....how are these shocks I can't find any reviews on them and for the price point, I don't want to spend the money and then now like them. I have a ton of money into the bike to not want to ride it. are there any reviews. I have so many questions that need to be answered...
