The S1-6514-BNS snare drum in the size 14 "x 6.5" comes from the "full range" series of Gretsch. This snare drum is especially characterized by the perfect balance between power, sensitivity and a great look at an affordable price. The black nickel over steel finish gives the snare its special character, which is also reflected in the sound. This model comes with 2.3mm triple flanged steel hoops, an adjustable snare suspension, 20 spiral snare strands, Remo Emperor X skins and a 45° bearing edge.

Powerful in every tuning range...Respect to Gretsch
Great video. I'm really impressed with this drum and you can't beat the price!
Wow!
I own it. If your a hard hitter this is a win!
I bought the 5 and 6.5 versions. Truly sleeper snare drums. Both worth much more than I paid. I put S hoops and 13" snare wires on both, for more sensitivity. I would put them up against snares costing 10 times as much, with the upgrades. There's magic in those shells.
You’ve made the same comment on every video of this snare 😂
@@alexg4284 Hopefully it will help others who might be considering this snare. I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't believe it. For a cheap snare, it punches way above it's weight. Ludwig Superlites are likewise amazing and underated. Need to post that on videos of those snares, as well. Just my opinion. Take it or leave it. ✌️P.S. This is actually the Taylor Hawkins Signature Snare, except they removed the badge. I figure they made a ton and couldn't move them at a higher price (due to being a steel shell) so... good for us consumers.
@@camerondean6804 I just ordered the Gretsch, went for 6.5. What are your thoughts on the 5” version?
@@alexg4284 Outstanding, like its larger sibling. If you haven't seen it you should watch both parts of this on UA-cam: Big Metal Snare Drum Comparison.
I cannot decide between this, the Yamaha Stage Custom Steel or the Pearl Modern Utility Steel (all 14x6.5). These videos are helpful :)
I purchased this snare a week ago and I’m surprised by how great it sounds. I usually do high tuning and have mostly played deep 14”x 8” snares but I’ve been playing drums for 17years and never heard a better sounding $200 dollars 💵
The Yamaha Is killer, the Pearl Is better the 5,5" version, the Tama soundworks steel Is great too.
