This really opened my ears to the sound of copper, which sounds so nice to me. Kind of a bridge between metal and wood specially with the gel on. Then again any one of these drums would make a nice addition to any snare collection. Okay wrap 'em up I'll take 'em.. Thanx for doing this that's quite the endeavor!

beautifully played, recorded, edited. Tbh i couldnt tell much of a difference between most of them to warrant the massive price differences between the snares, however listening with eyes closed, the BDC Talisman stood out. thanks, look forward to part 3.
Yes, please do these more often. Same impressions as previous video, except maybe more so. Now own both 5 and 6.5 versions of Gretsch Black Nickel Over Steel. A true sleeper drum, especially given the price. Ludwigs--as a group--all high performers, except for Pewter over Copper. Thank you again for putting this together. Edit: Three drums did impress me much more this time around: Tama SLP Stainless Steel and--even more so--Tama Star Reserve Brass (think it's the Aluminum model). And, British Drum Company Talisman.
Thanks your video. To my ears, almost all of them had some very ugly overtones. I see there was some moon gels on them but needed more muffling to get those overtones out.
Absolutely!!! GREAT video. I "watch" it with my eyes closed and open them only to see the type I like the sound of.

Perfect comparison, done by a great drummer. Take away: it's not the drum, it's the drummer! You don't need to spend a lot to get a great sound.
