There are two ways to defeat head on all-aspects without CMs that are semi-consistent.
1: Turning throttle to zero. I find this is very reliable on all
non after-burning planes but only works on select after-burners.
2. Shooting down their missile with an 9B. Defeating 9Ls with your shitty missiles feels like some ninja shit and is fun as fuck.
Both of these techniques only get you past the head-on but really that’s all you need in most planes facing the A10 and Su25.
Its basically a GR.3 with radar and AiM-9Ls. I'd say its good enough, do to it still has the bombload to take out a base, while still has 4 all-aspect AAMs, on a BR where its usually the top plane in the battle (tough it has the same flight performance as its 9.7 brothers, but that how the snail "bargains" for the better armament).

@@SilentButDudley Same frame, engine, and stats of the GR.3! The new cockpit might be heavier, yet still better stats than the GR.1 (on paper), and i 'm sure that it climb-rate is better even if not as good as on the GR.3.

The biggest selling point of this plane for me, is that it lets you skip an entire line in tech tree (2 if you're just going for the top tier cas planes) by being rank 7
Good to know you have a video about this specific plane because i went wallet warrior and researched it and bought it when it was at 2.200 GE with out even have a single second of experience on a Jet (my highest BR plane is a 4.3 Spitfire and i still take it to 7.7)
Anyways, this will be useful for my really harsh beggining into jets, i have watched lot of your videos before and learned lot of things.
I’ve been playing the game for two years, when I first joined a squadron I grinded the Squadron Firecrest, and then I started on this thing. I’m still over 160k rp away and I’ve been consistently at 360 activity in my squadron ;-;
Find an active squadron with a full player count guys.
Adore the Harrier. For sure it requires experience to fly. At higher tiers, it's like flying the speed and agility of a prop. And with the weaknesses, like not being to pull away. Brutishly beautiful!
I enjoy it compared to the other harriers and if you play it well you get 3-4 kills a match. If I go for bases I usually get 1-2 kills. But it does become a struggle bus when you get into the late game portion.
The hardest opponents are F-5C though. They shit on you in every way if you don’t get the drop on someone.
I think F-5Es are worst, basically the same but much more likely to be flown by a competent pilot.
Of course with the difference in flight performance even an absolute lemon can shoot down the Sea Harrier with an F-5C as long as they can use flares and avoid the dirt.
I love this plane so much. First every Jet, first 3 games I went 2-0 with it. Not great, but happy with it for my first jet experience

@@tensa.02 The chances of ARH missiles coming are pretty large, especially by the end of this year.
The devblog for the J-8F mentioned how Gaijin chose to omit the PL-11 from it, in favor of placing the J-8F at a lower BR for the time being, until PL-12s are added in a future patch. Typically, Gaijin omits mention of a future weapin or aircraft in a devblog if it ISN'T coming sonetime within the next few patches.
It would not surprise me if Gaijin implements ARH missiles via the J-8F (PL-12), F-4F/ICE (AMRAAM), Sea Harrier FA.2 (AMRAAM) (or Tornado F.3 for both Britain and Italy), AV-8B+, etc.
AMRAAMs are coming, but maybe not for the Harrier. *That* we don't know, yet.

Most british planes are not the best stock but that goes for most nations, try to unlock countermeasures and bombs on the planes that have them and use that to grind the rest of the modules, then spade the rest like a fighter
British top tier is just bad. Period.
The only good Aircraft is the Tornado F.3 and it’s like a B tier aircraft at best. The GR7 and other Tornado are CAS jets, and they are just incredibly difficult to unlock modifications for outside of Ground RB.

Tbh I was rlly excited to get the Sea harrier as I’ve waited a few months to get it but tbh, I can’t get ever get any good luck with it. But still love the aircraft.
This is pretty much how I fly the A4E at 8.7. I carry 4 napalm bombs, one external gunpod and one AIM9B. I climb high(6-7k metres), I dive down to a base, bomb it and immediately go vertical using the boosters. I can climb to 5-6k metres with it pretty fast this way and then I swoop down on people who don't expect me, which is how you play the harrier. If there is anything I can do to fly the skyhawk better, please tell me.

Play ground RB and be people's absolute nightmare with the Walleye ER
I do something called Jack-in-the-boxing. Fly low and careful and a stunning amount of folks will just go over you and ignore you. Then use the harriers thrust to get up nice and high and come down fast on their six. Doesn't work amazingly well against smart folks but it's a charm on wallet boys.
I’m surprised that they haven’t considered locking certain ordnance by certain BR for example an a-10 can only have aim9l 9.7 and above.
I've thought about that too; a system where certain weapons and loadouts change your BR range would be super interesting to implement, and I bet it would help out matchmaking quite a bit (for example planes with frigging AIM-9G's and L's clowning on literally anything without flares or equivalent missiles)

He’s done a video on it before, but everyone tends to forget it exists when talking about subsonics with strong missiles even though it is probably the most OP one in terms of Air RB and Ground RB strength relative to other CAS at its br. Really should’ve been 10.3 a long time ago.

The VTOL is an added perk for the aircraft. It's not smart in most situations, but sometimes you can switch to VTOL to lose a ton of speed and make the enemy overshoot, and you can abuse it to make real tight turns.
thats the thing, you slow it down and make a quick turn with the vtol, enemy plane over shoots and your at a better angle

I know that you have talked about it before but would love if you did another video on the viggens and how incredibly powercrept they have become. I am currently using the JA37C and its ok in it's own tier, just barely tho. In an uptier I have found it to be almost useless due to the bad loadout and non existent tracers. I am definetly not the best pilot but I know that sometimes there are firefights etc where there is literally nothing I can do about it. I honestly think this applies to all "top" tier swedish jets (except the J35XS). I wont even get started on the J29F. Even the J35A is absolute ASS

Getting the FRS.1 is a no brainer for me. Can't bother researching the Phantom FG.1, as I got the FGR.2 aced, but still need one more rank VII. And I can still spend the time researching for the GR.7, just not unlock it yet.

I researched the sea harrier during the grind to rank 8 Britain(which I did, but is still waiting for the sale) but I did enjoy the vehicle, does not require a GE and here comes a half decent fighter

I haven't been able to spade it... Every match is an uptier and when its not you get swarmed by F5C's. Definitely one of the BR ranges of all time

This issue also ruins lower BRs, where you have stuff at 9.3-10.0 who have mediocre performance, but good missiles for that BR. As well as vehicles at 8.0-8.3 vehicles that just have missiles in the first place
I feel like we should focus on how planes perform in downtiers specificity, not just the average

Fuck the: A-10A, A-10A Late, SU-25, SU-25K, Harrier, AV-8A, AV-8C, Yak-38, Yak-38M, AMX
It does great in squadron realistic and ground battles with bombs and missiles. I would not take it into air realistic as it is relegated as a support fighter which swoops in for the easy kills against players who are not paying attention.
10.7 is honestly my favorite BR at the moment for jets. Downtier central!
And yet this is the only decent10.x UK jet.

@@kingghidorah8106 I should hope you'd see them coming from the front and if they aren't in rear aspect they are easily defeated with flares.
From the rear simply dropping flares may not be enough (depending on your plane) so you'll need to spot them sooner.
But in general if you have flares and use them 9ls are not OP.
@@commandoepsilon4664 yes, no IR missile in game is OP with flares. Especially since they nerfed it's tracking segregation where they would prioritize heat signature size over intensity, not anymore. They however pull a lot harder at short range now.

6:21 idk, that's sus because every missiles ( R-60MKs or AIM-9Ls) do nothing and everyone flares once and the missile goes for it like a champ, or they simply pull to one side and do nothing
the premium ones seem like they might be better or maybe that's because it a lower BR but it still heats up like a junkies spoon to the point of almost overheating if WEP is used more than you have to use it, which is more often than not with these things. The Harrier is what pretty much started this downhill with jets in WT.
The Shenyang is a 9.3 has no flares and constantly faces A10 and Su25 with DOGSHIT.... Pl-2 AAM and no flares no countermeasures but out of 10 games I might MIGHT get 1 bottom-tier game and that's only if I DEEPthroat Gaijin......
I still think that since the UK got this harrier, the US should get the AV-8B Harrier II+
Yea and no. This isn’t the harrier that should’ve heralded the addition of Harrier II for USA, the GR.5 onwards are the Harrier II for UK. So yanks should’ve got it alongside the GR.7 being added.
However it makes sense it didn’t get added at the time as GB was DESPERATE for top tier CAS options while the USA was (and is) spoiled for choice in that regard.

I think it's terrible that the Aim9L can fight vehicles that have flares. The reason I quit playing top tier air rb is because my favorite vehicles tend to have no flares in a matchmaker with all aspects
For some reason its radar doesn't have IFF even tho it had it in real life. I really wanted to fly it in sim but not having IFF even tho it is supposed to have it is really annoying.

@@CrustaceanAllergyEnjoyer identification friend or foe system what basically means that you can tell whether or not you see an ally or the enemy on the radar (one horizontal line is an enemy and two lines is an ally). Its useful for sim because you can fire your aim9l before you make sure visually that you are not firing at a friendly

yeah flying the A4E against a mig19.. is just unfun.. im slower, and less manuverable, and if i get behind it, it just outruns me until he gains enough distance to turn back and its basically impossible to kill, obviously if he makes a massive mistake i can kill but its pretty hard to fuck up that in that thing
There is one thing the A-4E can do. It's roll rate is so much higher that the A-4 is very dangerous in any scissors that isn't a flat scissors. Of course if the Mig-19 just drops throttle and sits there you are screwed but it is the only real chance the A-4 has and there aren't enough players that bother to drop their throttle.

The solution to this issue is changing the matchmaker across the board to +/- 0.4 BR rather than +/- 1.0 BR. This not only makes playing in uptiers/downtiers more fair because you'll no longer really be facing shit that has a massive technological leap compared to you, but it also makes balancing current and future vehicles easier since they affect less around them. It also gives us decompression across the board instantly in the best way possible.
This community is borderline retarded, sometimes more than Gaijin; and one of the best examples is people asking for "decompression" by raising the max BR. Its the worst method possible. (raising max BR should be reserved for addition of more and more advanced vehicles only)
They dont realize doing that only helps the top end and does nothing for anything below that. It also will inevitably require a complete rework of the BR system, ruining the number ranges veteran players are familiar with; which just outright destroys familiarity across the board even for relatively new players.
The BR system we have now is a wonderful foundation, it just needs to have the cracks fixed. Asking for BR decompression by raising the max BR will just destroy it outright.
Lowering the MM BR range to +/- 0.4 will basically allow balancing with a scalpel rather than balancing with a sledgehammer. But at the same time in order for any balance to be truely achieved, we would also as a whole have to make Gaijin stop using "statistics" to balance and place vehicles and use veteran player opinions instead. Statistical balancing hasnt worked, and never will work; and gaijin has proven that over the last 8 years.
Plus on top of that lowering the MM BR range is EASY and could be done quickly.

Oh boy. I feel that one. I'm playing Japanese tier 6 now, and I'm pretty much done with them. T2, F1, F104J; all completely flareless, and going up regularly against Aim9L's, R60's and whatnot...
Equip air-to-ground missile pods if you can, they can work as makeshift flares
