I'm glad Weatherby customer service is still top notch. They did you a huge solid by providing one of the finest pronounced straight-grained stocks I've ever seen on a Deluxe. Although the aesthetic appeal of fiddleback or tiger-stripes is a draw to many, they cannot outweigh the benefits of straight grain stocks in reference to long-term stability for your action and barrel. It is a really, really nice stock! I wish you the best with it! Now that you have it back, brass incoming!
Good afternoon! What a great feeling you must be having. Man I'd be like a kid. Personal victory for you. Good for Weatherby taking care of you. They have impressed me so just moments ago I started shopping for one!
To a serious gun guy this is porn!! Freaking AMAZING!! And the highest performing cartridges to go with it. This is what American rifle building is all about! Your content is AMAZING 👍👍👍
I am happy the Weatherby did you right and replaced the stock for you. It is a beauty for sure. The burl was pretty but brittle I think, this straight grain stock has much deeper coloring.
I would say the new looks better between the two. Nice rifle and Congratulations. Me I would probably get one in 7mm or 300 Weatherby top it with a Meopta Optika 6 series scope either 2.5-15 by 44mm or 3018 by 50 mm .
I like the old one better, but fiddleback walnut “especially California” greatly increases the likelihood of a “check”, the type of crack that you had. It’s a major reason why walnut isn’t used a lot in instrument making despite having great properties and being incredibly sustainable. Tye new one is great though, I got a cheap CZ shotgun with a similar piece and I love that thing.
This one by far, far and away !!! I prefer the contrast. In the smoking pipe world, this would be a Comoy’s Blue Riband or a Tom Eltang. Sorry for those of you who have no clue what I am talking about. 😂
Wow That is a gorgeous work of art. The fit and finish looks amazing. I don’t know how anyone could not be over the moon with that beautiful rifle. I hope it shoots as great as it looks. Weatherby did a stand up job for you. I will definitely consider weatherby for my next rifle. Congrats and enjoy ! Cheers
It doesn’t matter. You’ve got your dream rifle and you’re happy and that’s all that should count. Have a very nice JP Sauer and son from the 80s with a doctor optic rifle scope. The stock quality and finish are comparable to what you have here and I am as nervous as I can be every time I take it out to the range or the woods. Sometimes I have to laugh at myself and ask why did I buy something that makes me this nervous.
That’s a beautiful tool. But knowing my luck I’d beat the f*}%k out of it on my first hunt. Not to mention soaking in the rain. I hope it shoots as good as it looks. Well done sir!
I just ran the videos side by side & once you put the new one into better light it is definitely a more attractive rifle overall, congratulations. Now hurry up & show us you sighting it in. 👍
I liked the first tiger stripe stock, but that was clearly inferior from splitting. I'm glad Weatherby stepped up on the warranty. You are their best advocate for the classic Weatherby cartridges!
It would be nice if they communicated what the defect of the first stock was. Like, was it a manufacturing defect, not having the recoil lug recess aligned properly, or a natural defect? The second stock is pretty, but the original had fiddle wood in the butt end. I like them both.
Weatherby uses Kiln dried wood which weakens the wood. Roy's number one warranty issue was cracked stocks. I've collected Mark 5's for forty years had 4 cracked stocks myself, seen many others. I remove the barreled action to inspect for cracks. Epoxied all thread rod repairs the crack.
Dang R.Dubb... I'm still waiting for Winchester to send my 6.8 Western back that I had to send in to them because they screwed up the scope mounting on one of their combo deals. Whoever mounted the scope broke off one of the ring mounting screws in the pic rail, and the screw protruded into the bolt receiver so the bolt couldn't pass though. Its been six weeks now and counting!... and you got yours back in less than half that time.😭 😭
Of course this new one is better. Actually it's much much better. The old one looks a little cheap, like a DIY product, someone chopped a piece of wood and painted by self. Happy for you bro! And way to go Weatherby!
It looks to me like they cherry picked the stock. I like this one better than the other one. Extremely happy to see you taken care of so well once again, congratulations on owning your dream rifle.
Good God that rifle is unbelievable. I was almost under the impression I was amongst the very few who loves a beautiful wood stocked rifle these days. One day I'll own a Mark 5. Definitely jealous lol
My main hunting rifle is a carbon fiber Backcountry which I love. Always been a fan of high gloss wood. They show the scars and story’s over time. I want a Deluxe myself but it will not be a safe Queen.
That tiger figure is called fiddleback. It’s really common on maple not so much on walnut. Both of your stocks are art pieces. Love the maple trim they put in.
Like the look of the original one a bit more myself but it's a personal preference thing. This stock is absolutely beautiful too. They did the right thing here.
I actually really like that more horizontal striping. Vertical or slanted is very common. This is very unique, and super nice. You might have come out better thanks to the issue, in my opinion at least.
That's one beautiful rifle!!! I love the tiger striping in the wood. Weatherby has really taken care of you, with how quickly they took care of the problem. I looking at a new weatherby 307, in 257 weatherby.
Also, props to weatherby for building rifles with stocks built for a cheek weld with a scope.
This stock has more character. Glad they did you right......
No offense but you could shart a video out and get lots of views... you are just a likeable fella.
New stock I like more
Second stock hands down. The contrast from the darker grain lines looks amazing.
That sir....is absolutely beautiful. Glad they hooked you up.
Now shoot it with muzzle BRAKE ON this one is super ++ looking. Take no chances..
IT NEEDS A GLOSS BLACK LEUPOLD!!! That’s awesome man. Yes, I will say that on every video with this gun until it happens!
But....will it crack again?? Did they bed the action to help prevent a crack??
They did
@@ReloadingWeatherby should be standard from weatherby with 300 up magnum in a wood stock. Prevent splits, improve accuracy
My mark 5 fibermark is still my choice every time I'm in the Oregon woods. What a beautiful piece of wood that is.

I believe the trend from cold aluminum chassis & carbon fiber will eventually trend back to the beautiful wood rifles of the past..
Weatherby thinks wood is coming back
The new wave will be micarta
Never. Wood is too heavy for what you get out of it.
I used to dream of the Weatherby Laser Mark.
Good afternoon! What a great feeling you must be having. Man I'd be like a kid. Personal victory for you. Good for Weatherby taking care of you. They have impressed me so just moments ago I started shopping for one!
Weatherby came through!!! Now you just need an Alaskan hunting trip on your bucket list. What does a box of shell cost.
Probably a lot
$90-120
Both are beautiful but the second one has much darker lines that just absolutely pop 🤩
I swore, no more pretty rifles, stainless and synthetic only. This Deluxe makes me reconsider. Gorgeous.

Wow that stock does look a whole lot better and props to Weatherby for fixing it
I would say the new looks better between the two. Nice rifle and Congratulations. Me I would probably get one in 7mm or 300 Weatherby top it with a Meopta Optika 6 series scope either 2.5-15 by 44mm or 3018 by 50 mm .

Almost looks like Zebra wood. Fancy. Glad they did the right thing.
I just ran the videos side by side & once you put the new one into better light it is definitely a more attractive rifle overall, congratulations. Now hurry up & show us you sighting it in. 👍
Ya, you are going to cost me money with this. I want a 340 so bad. Trying to think of what I can sell...
Beautiful rifle ❤
Love this stock just a bit more
Other one was great
But this is now your baby 🎉
Don't put me through this again...she's beautiful. Hard to say which is nicer because both are so easy on the eyes.
NGL it’s a beautiful looking rifle mate, cheers Yogi 🤙✌️
The other stock, I told you to split the cost with them. Just kidding it’s super sweet congrats 🎉 🎉🎉
Unboxing my dream rifle take two*
Didn't show the actual unboxing the first time
I liked the first tiger stripe stock, but that was clearly inferior from splitting. I'm glad Weatherby stepped up on the warranty. You are their best advocate for the classic Weatherby cartridges!
Good deal! I’m glad you got it back so quickly

I like the new one. Never been as into curly as opposed to grain personally.
That is one sweet looking stock. Very nice work thors hammer with a side of class
Awesome! I am glad they made it right for you. I thought that they would.
What a rifle! Congrats. I like the new stick better.
I knew the replacement stock was going to be better than the original,
That stock is absolutely awesome.
To me the grain stands out more on the new one, so I'd prefer it.

I was very dubious about Weatherby's response time regarding your rifle. Thankfully, Weatherby proved me wrong - congratulations!
Nice😊
Wow
Congratulations buddy, beautiful piece. I knew they'd take care of you. Weatherby is a good bunch of folks.
