- A ceasefire in Sudan appears to be holding after taking effect at midnight (22:00 GMT on Monday).
It is the fourth attempt to stop the fighting which began on 15 April, with previous truces not observed.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the 72-hour truce had been agreed between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) after 48 hours of negotiations.
At least 400 people have been killed in the hostilities.

@Ahmed Not an attack but every time there’s a conflict somewhere, there’s people saying the UN or western countries should do something. But when they actually try to take down repressive governments they get backlash and are told to get out of the country.
If your from a country that didn't take the snake oil during the plandemic then your country will be on the recieving end of war. All the populations must be reduced. For the safety of everyone.
I’m the first to give our government a dressing down but thankfully this video has come out saying why it takes so long. The EU has already got 1300 people out tho, not including all the non-Eu but allied nation citizens evacuated by France. If we had started out earlier we could have gotten hundreds out earlier. Oh well it's happening now at least
Lesson to learn again how we move British Citizens out of conflict. Readiness information of every British embassy around the world in case conflict arrises. This should be on the agenda of discussion in the parliament tomorrow. What if there is a conflict arrises in India tomorrow? What is the contingency plan of the UK government to evacuate the British Citizens back to UK.
