And iphone for social media (he's an influencer after all) since android app developers can't get their crap together and fix social media photo compression and cameras without doing some dumb partnership (which is stupid considering they're gonna use the same chips as everyone else anyways). That and I can see some productivity things being better on iphone as Google is basically schizophrenic when it comes to their services and some things just feeling better on iphone (I use both as well)

@@mittromney6052 social media compression is legitimately just an issue with the social media companies not caring enough coupled with the smartphone companies not caring enough.
Samsung cared enough, Google cared enough. That's why they partnered with Snapchat.
Instagram is just them being assholes.
You know it costs nothing to just upload uncompressed images for Android... There are literal mods that do that by just the flip of a switch.

As a Nigerian I find the two phones question so funny. You almost need two phones or at least two sims by default because carrier networks fail so often. Personally I use my iPhone for general personal stuff, iMessage, FaceTime, videos, entertainment etc. I use my android phone for all work related things so I can turn it off for work life balance lol. So android for my work WhatsApp, email, business calls, navigation as well because my iPhone connects to my car speakers and I HATE the google map voice interrupting my music. Also because my android has space for two physical sims, I house my UK sim in it incase I need to verify things while I’m in Nigeria. Very very convenient set up.

I just started carrying around 2 phones one day and got used to it very quickly. It's made it very easy to compartmentalise my digital life. One is a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the other is a standard iPhone 13. I use the iPhone mostly for chatting with family and for certain apps that are either exclusive to iPhone, or where I prefer the iPhone version of the app, and I use the Galaxy Note 10 which I've had for longer, for communicating with co-workers, and it's generally my "main" phone that I set alarms on and do most daily tasks on. I know you can do all of that with just one phone/one number, but I actually like having two active phone numbers on different carriers on different phones, and being able to switch off one of them to avoid work stuff when I'm not on the clock without being cut off from my other phone, which I'll use for chatting with family/friends. I don't think I can go back to just using one phone.

The sony xperia 1 iv is my primary phone and the z fold 4 is my secondary phone but I mainly use my z fold 4 as a tablet. I used to put 2 phones in the same pocket and a nexus 7 in my second pocket tablet because I wanted to carry a tablet with me and use my phones as the mobile hotspot for the nexus 7. The z fold 4 is my substitute for a tablet since I use it when it's unfolded for faster texting and watching videos. I barely use it unfolded when watching youtube videos and I always select zoom to fill the screen to get rid of the black bars and crop the videos since the black bars on the top and bottom bother me since thats what I was always looking at when there are videos since the black bars distracting. When something is obtrusive like black bars and a notch exist, it's what I look at the whole time since I'm distracted by it. I'm used to watching media and playing games when there is nothing obtrusive on the screen. For my z fold 4, I use a usb c to usb c cable to plug into my fiio q3 dac amp than into my z fold 4 when using my wired headphones since I used wired headphones all the time. For example the zte red magic 8 pro phone would be a perfect fit for me since it has the features and specs that I want from a phone plus it's all screen with no notch or hole punch camera cutout with an under the display camera that is barely noticeable. I still have my vivo nex s with the pop up camera and I barely used the front facing camera or any smartphone and the speakers are under the display when talking on the phone with the vivo nex s. I would actually buy a phone without a front facing camera include a headphone jack, a charger in the box and have a 100% screen to body ratio. I would just attach a camera by plugging it in with a usb c adapter since there are already accessories for smartphone camera attachments like external lenses or maybe an external display with a usb c attachment as a substitute for the front facing camera.

On the useless tech question - smart washing machines definitely fall into this category. Some were being promoted with the benefit of ‘start the washing cycle’ remotely - ignoring the fact you still need to go to the machine to load the laundry and any detergents. The only use case where that is of any use is if you’ve left the house and forgotten to put it on. And a lot of people I know wouldn’t put a washer on whilst not in the house anyway.

From high school, I've had 2 phones with different numbers from different carriers. At one point, I had 3 phones (2 from the same carrier, but one is postpaid and the other prepaid), but I lost the (prepaid). In a country like Jamaica, where there are currently only 2 networks, there are areas where one doesn't work and the other picks up.
I'm always an Android junkie and my current daily driver for the last 6yrs has been an Honor 5X. I'd normally have 2 sims in it and for my 2nd number, the whatsapp (which I use for personal business) is on an even older LG L70. But last September, I bought my 1st iPhone (a 7) to retire the L70 and I started using it more than I expected. The 2nd sim has been in it and it is what I use for music and multiple apps that aren't compatible with the 5X. Also, anything to do with work, people have that number, especially those with iPhones. Sometimes I use 2 different data plans. But with my postpaid data update for the Droid, I use hotspot for the iPhone.
After 6yrs of usage, 1 battery change and a ton of misery, I am changing my daily Droid this coming week to a Google Pixel 3a. Lets see how that works.

Every time I've travelled with multiple cameras on a trip, I've hated it. Unless I have a specific photo shoot planned ahead of time, more lenses is always more useful and comfortable than multiple cameras. Multiple phones also seems annoying and I feel bad for people who have to do that because of work.

I don't think that person was asking how to know what to do on which phone? Lmao. The hard part about carrying two phones is the actual logistics of carrying two phones around with you.
Like where do you put them? One in each front pocket? Back pocket(s)? Do you carry a bag? Is it harder to keep track of two phones without losing one? Etc. Etc.
I carried two for about 4 years and it drove me insane.

I use to use one phone for both but I was getting calls from work when i was not on call all hours day and night and did not care at all for any of that. Now when I am off and not on call I keep the work phone on silence and may or may not check, but not compelled to answer.

"Being able to look into the fridge while at the grocery store to see what you need to buy"
I would say, make a grocery list before leaving lol.
And lets say you can see what's missing in the fridge while you're in the store. What about the things missing in the cupboard or pantry? Do you then go home to check and come back to the store?
Smart fridges, not useful yet. Maybe 10 more years it will be able to do some weird item target temperature things which keeps each item at it's own desired temperature despite being stored the same place. That would be smart.

    • @toptiertech7291
      @toptiertech7291 Рік тому +1

What you just did was make up an example in which it is not useful. I can do that for any item. But I can also give you examples of uses. You’re at work. You wanted to make a pasta dish. You aren’t sure if you have heavy whipping cream. What do you do? Go all the way home to check then go to the store? Or just check the app and find out?

I do think that smart fridges could have its uses. But for it to become widely accessible i also think that the app (to check whats inside of your fridge for when you go out to make groceries) should also be widely available on any smartphone and not just on Samsung/Samsung Smart things...

I carry 3 SIM cards. 2 prepaid on 2 different networks because the way my country works, there are spots where data works better on one telco but not the other. I have non-expiring prepaid data on both so there's no unnecessary spending. The prepaid SIM cards are for personal use on android. I carry an iPhone for work. So personal stuff on one phone, work on the other. EXCEPT navigation, which goes on the iPhone so I have a free screen to run other apps on the other phone. Waze on the iPhone with turn by turn audio directions on, and UA-cam or Spotify on android to just play in the background while I drive. So I never have to interrupt my navigation (lots of turns in my area due to trying to get around traffic so it's great to have a dedicated screen so I don't miss a turn).

Been using 2 phones everyday for years now. I change phones from time to time, but currently, I'm using an S21+ (my spare) and the other an S22 Note Ultra (my main).
When I'm driving, I use my spare on the dash with Google Maps running, while my Note is on a magnetic cradle plugged into the lighter (I use this one for music / video while in the car).
When I'm at home, since I don't have a phone line, cable, broadband or anything of the sort, I use my data from my phones via mobile tethering.
Both my phones have separate plans but share the same account. My S21+ is on the cheapest data-only plan, while my Note is on a data call plan.
I've become so reliant on 2 phones, that it would take some time to get used to using only one XD

This is how I can fly just about anywhere for a week with only a backpack and maybe a small camera bag if I have camera gear. And even then I can usually single-bag it.
