You know what I like? I like that Michael can call up past cast mates for a show he did 20 something years ago and ask them to come onto his podcast thing and they say 'sure.' That feels like a talent and speaks to how likeable you must be as a person, even if you did play a ruthless villain (albeit in his formulative years)
I love that you guys had John on! Life is so short and all our talented older artists are slowly leaving us. So spending time with John now makes this even more special. #SMALLVILLEFAN4EVER #WORLDSBIGGESTSUPERMANFAN #CLARKANDLEX
@@TalkVillePodcast Please say hello to Michael and Tom for me. Tell them they have a huge fan name Chris just like Christopher Reeves! Also, I would pay good money to see you and Tom again on a show or movie! Possibly a Smallville reunion or reboot starring you both! All the best! 🌟
What’s incredible to see is how much folks like John Glover, Annette O'Toole and John Schneider love their craft. All three of them said instantly that there’s nothing else they would rather do than acting right now.
In the Pilot episode of the podcast, Michael had said this was the type of show you sat down and watched with your dad. I genuinely can’t thank you guys enough for giving me those memories, because that’s exactly what Smallville was for I (and many others), and now that he’s gone they’re memories I cherish a lot more. Thank you guys and I can’t wait to start season 2 with you all.
I'm just in love with this man, I could watch you guys talk to him all day. If you ever see this comment, please tell John thank you for all the joy he's given me through his performances.
Yay! Happy end of Season 1! It went by in a flash. So excited to see JGlo as the special guest. Love him. Thanks, guys! 💙 Hope you liked my homemade, "ask me about Talkville" buttons. Hugs!
Smallville will always be my favorite show. I don’t think it’s even possible for anything to ever compare. God, I love it. I still rewatch it over and over and over and over again. I can’t watch it enough. Never gets old. Awesome hearing Michael and Tom’s thoughts on each episode, along with guests they have. John Glover was freakin amazing as Lionel. Nobody could have done it better, or probably even as well as him. The whole cast was phenomenal. I’m a huge Lex fan, Michael Rosenbaum was absolutely perfect.
Thanks everyone!! This makes reliving the nostalgia Of smallville always the best!! Talk about a guest star!! He was an addition to the smallville family we all loved!!
John Glover is a national treasure, not only a terrific actor, but a great human being. Was so heartwarming having him on this episode. You guys are awesome. Love this show.

Thank you to Michael, Tom, and everyone involved in this effort! This show has brought me so much joy these past few months and I look forward to the future seasons!! Happy holidays!!
Wow was it ever nice to see John Glover. So glad he was cast in the role of Lionel Luthor as he was truly fantastic. For the first time I watched the 1988 movie Scrooged last night and was pleasantly surprised to see a very young John Glover. It's sad to see him older now and that he thinks about death so often. Hopefully he has a lot of living still to do!
Thank you for this season of talkville. Thank you for reigniting my passion of watching a series I grew up with, but never managed to finish. Thank you Rosey and Tom for being two genuine sincere guys. I look forward to seeing you every week and have looked forward to this podcast ever since your first episode of InsideofYou with Tom. It was like a wish coming true to see you watch and talk about Smallville!
Gosh, having John Glover on the podcast was an absolute joy. I love seeing the chemistry between you three is still there. Lionel was essential to Smallville. I hope he comes back for more appearances!
Said it before, but thank you so much for doing this show. It’s been such a light in my life getting to wake up to this every week and made me fall in love with Smallville all over again. Hope the wait for Season 2 isn’t too long.
I LOVED this finale......the tornado ending was a great cliffhanger.....ESPECIALLY WITH THE END CREDITS ROLLING W/TORNADO DISASTER SOUNDS/DISTRUCTION GOING ON......awesome!!
Not to spoil anything, but Season 3 is when Lionel was at his best. John Glover did such an amazing job being the big major villain for the whole season.
I knew it was going to be Glover! Hot damn! This is so nostalgic and awesome for us die hard Smallville fans! Thank you guys for this first season and Tom don't worry I'm joining you guys at Patreon in January when things get better for me personally. It would be an honor to support this podcast! Michael thanks for the Kristin Kreuk stream as well. We love seeing you all together and just talking. And finally yes Michael and Tom and cast and crew, this show helped and changed my life as it did yours.
@43:27 The kiss between Chloe and Clark revealed another one of Clark's superpowers. His breath is fresh since his regenerative powers prevent him from getting bad breath. After Chloe kisses him, she replies why is my breath "so" minty? Not just minty, she added a "so".
Clark's has a lot of other abilities as well such as he doesn't get dirty e.g if you threw a bucket of oil over him in about hour it would slide of his body leaving him as if nothing happened He smell great all time, only beings with heightened sense of smell can detect it. Lana in Smallville when she was a vampire commented on how amazing he smelt. He very intelligent - Kara in Smallville learned how to hack after watching Jimmy do it once He has a photographic memory He can see the electromagnetic spectrum, he once tracked radio waves across a city ( He can see in dark He has telescopic and microscopic vision and can see an atom He learned a Kryptonian martial arts called Torquasm Rao and Torquasm Vo which gave him incredible mental defence and the ability to see someone's soul. Later he developed the ability to see in four dimension.
@@cainabel2009 Yes, there are a few of Clark's powers that he never used or he used one time and never used again. The first is his telescopic and microscopic vision; he never developed that, or they never showed it. He mentioned it once in season 9 or 10 when he told Chloe he could see fifty miles in any direction. The second is his intelligence; Clark is super bright and can learn anything in minutes, if not seconds. They started with his brilliance in the early season but never progressed further. Below is a clip of Clark doing a long calculation in a fraction of a second. ua-cam.com/video/ixqqIxSwHbc/v-deo.html
Smallville is the one that started everything The Flash, Green Arrow, and the Arrowverse, and I have nothing but love for the show, but if I could make one criticism is that they never explored his intelligence. He is much smarter than Chloe. His intelligence is greater than any human who has ever lived by light years, but you wouldn't know it if you watched Smallville since he leaves everything to Chloe. He once told Kara back in season 7 that Chloe was more intelligent than he and Kara combined lol. Kara hacked into a government organization after she saw Jimmy do it once.
25:35 this is why Glover was amazing in the role, my top tier list when it comes to tv characters that play that role jumping between hero and villain; he has such a crazy arc that when we get to his end with Lex and Clark stare off, its a highlight of the series
best episode so far on talkville smallville has been my fav show of all time and still till this day i have a tradition where i watch smallville once a year and have been doing that for the past 8 years
So surreal to watch Lionel and Lex having such a strained relationship on the show for many years. Then to see Michael speaking with John so glowingly. Very very cool.
I hope this goes on for all 10 seasons. Ryan is a great addition to the smallville team. Thank you guys for making Wednesdays bearable. Enjoy your day !!!! ❤
The depth and dimension John Glover gave to his character and any scene he was in was incredible, it was like he'd come out of the television at you, it's something that's really rare in television.
Both John Schneider and John Glover's respective characters somehow grew into becoming two father figures to me as a kid and teenager, back to the early 2000s to early 2010s. So glad to see John Glover doing well.
So lovely to see John Glover on the show. Lionel was such a fascinating character and the show definitely wouldn't have been the same without him. His relationship with Lex, his relationship with Clark and how he influenced both to be who they would become was so incredible. How he was so harsh on Lex and essentially caused all of his bad traits and turned him into a monster (and as we saw from the mirror universe in S10 he would have done the same with Clark had he raised him). But then Clark had a positive influence on him and led to him actually having a redemption and striving to do the right thing. It was so fascinating how he saw Clark as "a man you'd be proud to call a son" and he constantly called him "son" even in front of Lex which further infuriated Lex and caused his downfall. But only when Lionel had redeemed himself did he realise what he'd done to Lex and the monster he'd created. His death really symbolises everything he'd become. He died protecting Clark's secret at the hands of his son who hated him more than anything for everything he had done to him. "No one will even remember your name." Fantastic
I know this is the end of Season 1, and I have kicked myself for not know about Talk Ville before now, but this episode brings a lot out in John Glover. He truly is an amazing person and you can tell that Michael and Tom really love him, not only as a co-worker, but as a member of their own family. It almost brought tears to my eyes hearing him talk about death, but seeing him smile, you can tell he is very appreciative of his life and his accomplishments throughout his career. We love you John!
I got to meet John Glover at RICC 2022 this year and he was everything I thought he'd be. No better guest for the season 1 finale than John Glover. I hope to meet him one day at a con. It's great to see how much of a father figure he played for Michael both on screen and in real life. Can't wait for Talk Ville season 2!
John is of course irreplaceable. I personally never cared about Lex's personal life until seeing Glover's acting. Lionel is just an enigma and John brought that out. That being said, Michael is still the best Lex and I can't see anyone else filling those shoes. Omg, the chemistry and the way they are able to play off of each other is just magic. 😍
Also John Glover is an incredible actor! I loved him in smallville obviously but he was also recently the best part of season 6 of Fear the Walking Dead

This is a brilliant finale especially with the inclusion of John Glover and the season as a whole has been inspiring, educational, emotional and a joy to watch. Thank you for a job well done😊
A great episode to finish off season 1. Smallville fans are so lucky/grateful to have John Glover as our Lionel Luthor (of course that goes for pretty much the entire Smallville cast). Still hoping that we see Tom get some lead host duties for season 2 (I'm obviously biased as Superman has been my favourite superhero since I was a kid, but didn't fully appreciate the character or mythology until I watched Smallville). Looks like Tom and Michael are starting to realise how much fans love both Ryan's character and the episodes he's in. Cant wait for season 2's guests and all the behind the scenes stories.
So excited for this! Love John Glover, amazing way to end season 1! Thanks so much Michael, Tom & Ryan for everything that you do for this podcast! Season 2 here we come! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Best Glover scene for smallville is him and Clark changing bodies in transference. John and Clark's mannerisms were very well done
As well as becoming the vessel for Jor-El, embracing Clark and it driving a further wedge not only between Lex and Lionel, but Lex and Clark.
"Julian's in the cradle and the silver spoon,
little boy Lex and the man in the moon..."
We need Glover to return for the season 4 episode Transference!
Amen 🙏
@@TalkVillePodcast Please say hello to Michael and Tom for me. Tell them they have a huge fan name Chris just like Christopher Reeves! Also,
I would pay good money to see you and Tom again on a show or movie! Possibly a Smallville reunion or reboot starring you both! All the best! 🌟
@@Christopher25S Michael is responding to our comments🙂.
@@misoboskovic oh, cool 😎
What’s incredible to see is how much folks like John Glover, Annette O'Toole and John Schneider love their craft. All three of them said instantly that there’s nothing else they would rather do than acting right now.
In the Pilot episode of the podcast, Michael had said this was the type of show you sat down and watched with your dad. I genuinely can’t thank you guys enough for giving me those memories, because that’s exactly what Smallville was for I (and many others), and now that he’s gone they’re memories I cherish a lot more. Thank you guys and I can’t wait to start season 2 with you all.
John Glover National Treasure. LOVE love love the guy! Meet him at a convention. It will make your day!
Hugs!
🤗🤗🤗🤗
Smallville will always be my favorite show. I don’t think it’s even possible for anything to ever compare. God, I love it. I still rewatch it over and over and over and over again. I can’t watch it enough. Never gets old. Awesome hearing Michael and Tom’s thoughts on each episode, along with guests they have. John Glover was freakin amazing as Lionel. Nobody could have done it better, or probably even as well as him. The whole cast was phenomenal. I’m a huge Lex fan, Michael Rosenbaum was absolutely perfect.
John Glover national treasure.
Amen
Thanks everyone!! This makes reliving the nostalgia Of smallville always the best!! Talk about a guest star!! He was an addition to the smallville family we all loved!!
🙌🙌
John Glover is a national treasure, not only a terrific actor, but a great human being. Was so heartwarming having him on this episode. You guys are awesome. Love this show.
This project of Talkville helped me get through some rough times this year. Rewatching the series along with you has been the best decision I have ever made. You're great company and I anxiously wait to share this fun moment every Wednesday :). Thank you Michael, Tom, and Ryan, and keep up the good work!
Glad we could bud. Much love. Always
Y'all definitely hit the jackpot with bringing in thee great John Glover 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾... I see that Tom agreed with me on giving "Tempest" 🌹🌹🌹(3 roses)... Awesome episode as always, fellas!!!... I can't wait for y'all to get Annette O'Toole on here and Sam Jones III as well... #KeepItUpMyBrothers #TalkVilleWednesdays
🌹🌹🌹 thanks pal
John Glover! This season has been so amazing to rewatch, to watch my daughter watch it for her first time.. seeing nostalgia through her eyes has been amazing! Thanks Tom, Rosey and Ryan for all you’ve done!! 🌹 🌹 🌹
❤️❤️
it's great to see John Glover still sees Tom & Michael as the young actors from back in the Smallville days & still as close
THANK YOU for having John Glover on! He is so funny, and insightful. I love it that his acting is so deep and that he believed he was giving Lex love when he gave him the shock therapy! He's a hoot. I did a video chat with him recently and he's always funny and witty. I was happy to see you guys give Tempest some love with the roses. I give it 3 Roses, right up there with the pilot. Can't wait for season 2. Any idea when that will be available to watch? Love you guys.
Just finished watching this episode it is so bittersweet please don't be too long with the second season I know y'all need a well-deserved break! I'll be here waiting. Take care everyone. That's a wrap season 1 baby! Always hold on to Talkville!!
Will be pretty quick
So ready for this part. Love John Glover so much. Having the special guest on is probably the best part of the episodes. Always love hearing what they have to say. Thanks for having him on.😀😀🙏
Have been so looking forward to John Glover being on the show. There's a guy who just elevates whatever scene he's in. Thanks Rosey, Tom and Ryan for putting on a great pod. Looking forward to season 2!
❤️❤️
Here's to 9 more seasons of Talkville. I can't wait to hear Rosie's take on the later seasons that he wasn't on and Tom's responses to those takes.
John Glover is my spirit animal. I hope I have a modicum of the class and joy he has as I grow older.
Love John Glover, love Talkville
Appreciate ya pal
Gosh, having John Glover on the podcast was an absolute joy. I love seeing the chemistry between you three is still there. Lionel was essential to Smallville. I hope he comes back for more appearances!
Said it before, but thank you so much for doing this show. It’s been such a light in my life getting to wake up to this every week and made me fall in love with Smallville all over again. Hope the wait for Season 2 isn’t too long.
Appreciate the love bud
I LOVED this finale......the tornado ending was a great cliffhanger.....ESPECIALLY WITH THE END CREDITS ROLLING W/TORNADO DISASTER SOUNDS/DISTRUCTION GOING ON......awesome!!
Great seeing John Glover on the part 2 show! Keep Talk Ville going!!
❤️❤️
Not to spoil anything, but Season 3 is when Lionel was at his best. John Glover did such an amazing job being the big major villain for the whole season.
THANK YOU ALL SOOOOOO MUCH FOR DOING THIS!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
I knew it was going to be Glover!
Clark's has a lot of other abilities as well such as he doesn't get dirty e.g if you threw a bucket of oil over him in about hour it would slide of his body leaving him as if nothing happened
He smell great all time, only beings with heightened sense of smell can detect it. Lana in Smallville when she was a vampire commented on how amazing he smelt.
He very intelligent - Kara in Smallville learned how to hack after watching Jimmy do it once
He has a photographic memory
He can see the electromagnetic spectrum, he once tracked radio waves across a city (
He can see in dark
He has telescopic and microscopic vision and can see an atom
He learned a Kryptonian martial arts called Torquasm Rao and Torquasm Vo which gave him incredible mental defence and the ability to see someone's soul. Later he developed the ability to see in four dimension.
@@cainabel2009
Yes, there are a few of Clark's powers that he never used or he used one time and never used again.

@@cainabel2009
Also forgot to add they never quite utilise his photographic memory. Clark can never forget anything he read, see, watch or hears.
Kara hacked into a government organization after she saw Jimmy do it once.
you guys got me rewatching the whole thing again. 3rd time.
25:35 this is why Glover was amazing in the role, my top tier list when it comes to tv characters that play that role jumping between hero and villain; he has such a crazy arc that when we get to his end with Lex and Clark stare off, its a highlight of the series
best episode so far on talkville smallville has been my fav show of all time and still till this day i have a tradition where i watch smallville once a year and have been doing that for the past 8 years
I adore John Glover!! Thanks for a great season Rosie, Tom, and Ryan. You guys rock! ❤
Thanks Christina ❤️
Look forward to this podcast every Wednesday! Keep up the great work!
❤️
Happy 1st season lads! Job well done! It was amazing to see and listen to the talented John Glover
Thanks buddy
I got to meet John Glover at RICC 2022 this year and he was everything I thought he'd be. A gentle & caring man, made the few minutes I got to talk with him feel amazing, and loved that I got to get some pictures with him. Thank you guys for bringing him on! Love the show and can't wait to see how the future seasons go too.
What a way to end the season with John Glover!!!! ❤️ Can’t wait to watch this!!! It’s been an amazing season one of Talk Ville ❤️ Thank you so much Michael, Tom, Ryan and the whole Talk Ville team for all your hard work!! Can’t wait to see what you guys have in store for season 2! Thank you for letting us be a part of this ❤ So grateful ❤
Happy Talk Ville Wednesday ❤️☄️🌽
John glover is a national treasure , I’m an 80’s kid and always watched things with him in it. Such a superb actor , and I love that he and rosey are so close
No better guest for the season 1 finale than John Glover. I hope to meet him one day at a con. It's great to see how much of a father figure he played for Michael both on screen and in real life. Can't wait for Talk Ville season 2!
I am shocked how sweet John Glover is! Love it!
One down, nine to go! Great stuff! It was fantastic to see John join the three of you on Talk Ville today!
❤️❤️
John is of course irreplaceable. I personally never cared about Lex's personal life until seeing Glover's acting. Lionel is just an enigma and John brought that out. That being said, Michael is still the best Lex and I can't see anyone else filling those shoes. Omg, the chemistry and the way they are able to play off of each other is just magic. 😍
Also John Glover is an incredible actor! I loved him in smallville obviously but he was also recently the best part of season 6 of Fear the Walking Dead
This entire cast is amazingly talented. The show is a timeless classic.
Part 2 Man Season 1 ending of course You guys definitely need to cap it off with The Legendary John Glover! "You might have more episodes" Man I'm glad he did! This Show was a Amazing thing The World needed Smallville especially at this time 2001🙏 Tom Michael to all guest stars Thank You so much I'm a Patrion for TalkVille and Honored to help🙏 💙 ❤️ My vote 🌹🌹🌹On season 1, Bring on Season 2 "Always hold on to Smallville"
I love how honest Michael is
This is a brilliant finale especially with the inclusion of John Glover and the season as a whole has been inspiring, educational, emotional and a joy to watch. Thank you for a job well done😊
Couldn't agree more🙂👍
A great episode to finish off season 1.
❤️☕️
I cannot believe I found this podcast I've shown my brother and were both in the idle of rewatching smallville anyway, were on season 4 ! Thank you Michael and Tom , thank you Talk ville podcast !!
This was such a delightful way to start my morning. I enjoyed hearing John’s perspective on different scenes. I always wondered what Lex and Clark would have been like if they were step brothers. Those would have been fun scenes. So many great moments from this season. This is such a delightful podcast and I look forward to watching more in the future. Y’all rock

Oh wow! This is it! The final episode of Talk Ville for Season 1. You guys went out with a BANG!!! Part 2 was worth the wait. I felt the excitement of anticipation all day today during work and sat ready at 10pm to tune in. What an awesome finish to a podcast that was something that I didn’t know I needed 💕
This is what I have been waiting for and it just seems to validate my love for Smallville. Hearing you two (and Ryan) going over each ep with a fine tooth comb is a dream come true.
