When it hits about 1:30 it gets to me. I focus on my inner self and block out everything. The soft voice relaxes me, and its calming nature allows me to make a quick emotional attachment. I contemplate the fears inside me, feelings of loneliness and abandonment. But they are not alone. I know happiness, happiness achieved through a look into the book of memory's within my mind. Images of beauty and fantasy's of human connection and love. Your music, your art, has potential. The new me, the true me, loves this.
I love the track Ra, when the singer says "I am stronger than fear!" I get this feeling of immense power, juggernaut amount of productivity. Northlane is awesome.
It makes me so sad that people don't see the best from this album. Look at the lyrics. Take this whole work as one concept. Let it simply just flow through you. This is a piece of art - whatever you are, were or will be Northlane fan. I use to listen to some older stuff, but this hits me the most. No fence, but this is not something for just single listening. There's a lot behind it.
Fu king eh 40 years I've been listening to everything and this is the absolute best band with Marcus ever like from another planet no wonder why their next album was called alien the fucking bomb supreme mix and production
***** Oh I know he's a part of it now. I'll just not be following them anymore now that they've decided this is the music they've decided to make. It's a dissapointment though, losing the distinct sound they had.
+BoxOfSt00f it;s still distinct, its just different than what they did before, they are maturing as a band and making music that they like and branching out instead of sticking the the same thing. Adrian will be missed but it was his choice to leave. Who knows, maybe Adrian will come out with his own solo project in the future, either way, i still love Northlane. Looking forward to some more diversity :P

"i see the prism of a city, destined for collapse. i see worker bees buzzing in circles, fighting over scraps. i see a concrete garden, of lead and steel trees. i see the clouds swell, with synthetic disease. a vision-less man can't balance the scales, the code of conscience slips. secrets on the gavel written in braille, lie just beyond my fingertips." say what you want, but i really dig the lyrics in this album
I absolutely LOVE Northlane and Marcus, but those first like...10 words he's singing in the verse the first time totally reminded me of a 2000s era Fred Durst...
infoxicate Honestly I misunderstood your comment. I thought you meant vocalist. I will definitely agree with you that Marcus can sing better than Adrian. It's unfortunate that 85% of the time it's screaming and Marcus absolutely blows at it.
I wonder if it's something he can improve upon. I don't really dig screaming as a whole. But...just to appease those who DO like more aggressive vocals. I wonder if it's something worth actually making better. I would think that focusing on screaming might hinder clean vocals in long run. -shruggs-
Just realised I listened to the uploads backwards to how they're arranged in the album... looks like I'll have to listen to them all over again in the intended order. What a shame.
"A visionless man can't balance the scale, The court of conscience slips Secrets on the gavel written in braille, Lie just beyond my fingertips" Fucking. Beautiful. That it is.!
I'm glad this wasn't a single or teased at or anything because when I gave this album it's first listen and this opened things up, I knew the rest of the album was going to be good. Yes this does not compare to Discoveries or Singularity, but this is Marcus' first album with Northlane and I say he did a fantastic job. Can't wait to hear this live
@AJ Hosp lol it's different man. some people dont like alot of singing. the music is great and vocals are okay. Marcus is a BEAST LIVE. and actually was the perfect replacement for adrian. and josh wrote all the lyrics for this album. but what you dont understand is adrian's message was way different. bands have to make these changes to remain on top. look at every hard band out there. discoveries will always remain my favorite album out of any band. have you ever studied philosophy or psychology? read a book and re listen to their first two albums and really understand it. it's really third eye opening. this album is great but to tell someone off for having an opinion ( which is true) is weak and northlane wouldnt want that... you can be the change lol
all of the albums are awesome. i remember hearing quantum flux first, and not liking it for some odd reason. then iheartradio played keymaker, which was the turning point. dispossesion, abra sumente, etc... were so good. then i heard windbreaker and dream awake, then quantum and masquerade. hooked! and then i was turned off by marc but gave them a real listen and really really regretted not getting into them earlier. they are phenomenal
I'll be honest, im not disappointed, but nor am i impress with the vocals. The instruments are on point, but im not sure how to feel about vocals. Scream are great, but they feel iffy at times. tbh this is better than rot or obelisk. Im going through the whole album right now, so i hope i love it when i reach the end
+LIJ4Productions I don't know your final opinion, but i think the vocals are perfect, the screams and the clean parts alike. For me they're definitely not iffy :) I wouldn't talk about the instrumentals, because we can agree on their perfection.
Mátyás Juhász actually in the end, i really liked it. the vocals still are a little iffy for me, both clean and unclean, but i prefer the cleans more. i also really enjoy the instruments in this.
i'm not one of your best fan but i really enjoy the fact that you offer your album in full stream, i will buy it only to proove you it's better to give and ask for money after. pretty good moshpart/breakdowns however, and fucking awesome artwork, good job!
ReprogrammedToHate Jon kept saying in interviews he really wanted to channel a "90's" feel. I get what you are saying. There's certainly an art rock influence here. Cave In is a really good comparison.
I love northlane there structure in there songs to me make them a very progressive band and the somewhat simplicity is over ran by there unique ness. I love em(:
I'll be honest, at first I wasn't a huge fan of Node because the sound was so different from Singularity and Discoveries but after giving it a fair chance I have to say this song, and the whole album is growing on me. I still like the other two a little more but this sounds more fluid and put together by a mile. Kind of like of Prada's sound became less about how heavy they were but more about the way it sounds when you put all the parts together. Seeing them on Tuesday though, suuper stoked! lol
Tbh I'll never get into this album it's not northlane I've tried so hard the lyrics just kill me I hope since it wasn't Marcus who wrote the lyrics the next album will be better but the reason I listened to northlane(the awesome lyrics that shake me down to the core) Marcus is an okay vocalist but if the lyrical content doesn't improve I won't be able to ever listen to them again
Lol I hear you. I think Marcus fits with the band well and I think he's pretty talented in regards to his cleans, but Northlane will never be as powerful without Adrian imo. He brought so much heaviness and ferocity to the band it's irreplaceable lol
He is very talented but like I said the lyrics kill me and at a very lesser extent his screams idk the screams in my opinion don't fit the band I usually have to try thinking it's a different band before forcing my self to listen like I said before I'm trying to get used to him but northlane used to be my fav band for me it's like a beagle Marcus is butter while Adrian is cream cheese they are both good in there own rights but I'd rather have cream cheese on my beagle
These comments are all so relevant to my perspective of Northlane rn. But, Node is growing onto me. I'm just giving it more shots until I end up liking it. That's how it usually goes when I play a song for the first time anyways. It's a gradual transition for me. I'm trying to feel the distinctive sound of the albums, and being appreciative of their work.
Daley Smith its the same chords but the original is in drop b, this ones played in A# (with the F# muted) and the open note is played open instead of palm muted in this :) i asked jon :p
I rarely login to leave comments but I like this record and bought a copy and I'll play it LOUD an enjoy it. NO COMPLAINTS ! Thank You Northlane. I can't stand the crap pop and country and classic rock played millions of times on the radio. It's all terrible. Northlane is better. If you have to scream, you'd better have something important to say, and Northlane does, so Listen.
Why do they release whole album stream and even show the content of CD Box before the official release? Isn't it nice to see all the contents yourself when you buy it?
I love that people shit all of marcus's cleans and act like adrian had good cleans 😂 Adrian was a great screamer.. but he was not a trained vocalist/singer and had zero singing technique.. Did you all hear that cringey mess in the beginning part of quantum flux?
God damn, I like Adrian soooooo much more. Northlane was one of my absolute favorites. This, in my opinion, is average at best =/ The worst part is it's literally just the vocals. The instruments are still solid. I just can't handle the way his screams sound like a teenager who just started practicing.
I like the ambient sound but i think this is where the "no breakdown" phase might have started. PLEASE for the love of humanity, bring the balls back to the music. I feel like i get lead up to a breakdown but you guys decided to jump bavk to a chorus or main riff. Its like if my girl couldnt get me off anymore. Depressing. Keeps you waiting for sure lol with blue balls
***** lol Impulse is one of the songs that hit the hardest to me, plus the lyrics are cool. No fucking clue what you're talking about. Node and Ohm are a bit lacking though imo.
Marcus' cleans are absolutely amazing. He has such a great voice.
Opinions on Mesmer and Alien? Marcus just got better and better, it's unreal.
First song on the Album, first album since Adrian left...
"I refuse to die here"
That is epic.
That bass in the beginning is orgasmic.
MJKTool I know right!
+MJKTool I love there tones lol although for some reason someone decided to scoop the mids out
+Matt Magee yeah u_u
I played the bassline to my GF and she instantly got pregnant
RoseOfHizaki lol I’m dying

Blargman57
I actually was climbing S2 really fast. If anything I spent the most time at S5 until I came back to the game with a new approach.
I'm so proud I own the physical copy of this gem of an album!
1:12 is so architects, cool song
Jason LovesPWD
Its like straight outta Stay Young Forever :D
blubidiblubada Agreed, sounds very "Daybreaker" to me. Love them and love Northlane, so I have no problem with that mix!
Except architects is actually heavy
Jason LovesPWD old northlane was heavier than the new, but I'd still have to say architects is much more brutal
that riff is almost identical to one in Northlane's old song Keymaker! Check it out! Super cool
Way beyond it's time.
Feel these songs in my bones.....
It makes me so sad that people don't see the best from this album. Look at the lyrics. Take this whole work as one concept. Let it simply just flow through you. On a level of their own
You really only appreciate this album when you go back. It’s crazy
This song is so powerful. Especially in the beginning. Gave me chills.
The calm part tho.. Ears on ecstazy.
If you are a true Northlane fan this shit is hair raising! Great opening track
+Hershey Holman Sorry this isn't Northlane, this is MarcusLane
+BoxOfSt00f before Adrian left they already decided and publicized their new style so i think it is still northlane lol

Awesome song.
I REFUSE TO DIE HEEEEEEEEERE
I absolutely LOVE Northlane and Marcus, but those first like...10 words he's singing in the verse the first time totally reminded me of a 2000s era Fred Durst...
northlane is the best, marcus is amazing . Cannot wait for there next album. Node was insane!! NL4LIFE!
The lyrics actually reminds me of the psyfi horror game SOMA, 10/10 game imo! the bass in the background of this song
1:35 chills for days.. so powerful.
At 1.33 they have such a limp bizkit sound. I love it!
Northlane will always be legends in rock history. It's a shame Adrian left because the rest of his band plays really fucking well regardless.
Marcus is the superior singer. No contest.
LMAO, monotone screams that are so boring. He absolutely hurts the band.
Previous "vocalist" had some good screams. But he sounds like a 15 year old kid when he sings.
infoxicate Honestly I misunderstood your comment. I thought you meant vocalist. I will definitely agree with you that Marcus can sing better than Adrian. It's unfortunate that 85% of the time it's screaming and Marcus absolutely blows at it.

Well done boys! This is now my favourite album and I refuse to not repeat this album. ;)
Just realised I listened to the uploads backwards to how they're arranged in the album... looks like I'll have to listen to them all over again in the intended order. What a shame.
Northlane will always blow my mind wide open, with the intro of their 1st track
The bass at the start has such a good full sound! this new album is killer
Best song from the whole album
danny worsnop i hope not
"A visionless man can't balance the scale,
The court of conscience slips
Secrets on the gavel written in braille,

Fucking. Beautiful. That it is.!
Anyone else slept hard on this album only to realise it's fucking quality?
Yeah I believed it was bad and after I listened it I realized it was a masterpiece
@@Greenignitor
True
I didn't like it at first but now i think its masterpiece

Why am i just getting to this album in 2018 😭
Such positive feed back by everyone. I love it. Can't wait to see you guys live again.
Awsome album. For me, is the best. Good work Northlane but specially Marcus. I miss you Adrian, but Marcus do the things right like you Adrian.
Adrian
Love this Killswitch Engage style cleans in the chorus!
Now or never, Northlane. Prove you're still amazing without Adrian, this will be an exciting listen!
+Charlie's Drum Corner so, whats the response?
Left a comment on "Animate" ;)
+Charlie's Drum Corner Unfortunately they couldn't prove it. R.I.P.
but wtf is this cleansing like pop music ? :/ ... musicians still good but damn .... RIP RIP RIP

This is more like a very nice reminder of why i pre ordered the album.
Northlane has done it again !! :D
this whole album is so amazing. Very nice job
The riff is crazy powerful. Power to this band. :D
I love this song! Reminds me of PC gaming for some reason

Jason LovesPWD yes
TheCuffufle Seeing them on that tour too, on the 26th of August for me. Can't wait for these guys and IHW. Enjoy!

Best song so far. Northlane did a fantastic job.
This is pure Northlane to the bone - so explicitely...🤘
that bass tone is fucking amazing holy shit
Best song on the record and the most Northlane sounding song on Node.
best song on album, this and Ohm. leech, node, animate, and impulse are up there too,
+OMGIDestroyedMatter I literally like all of them, except for Nameless, but that's because it's the instrumental, and I only like Discoveries...
It's got good meaning to it. They're all good, I just don't listen to them regularly. Marcus's interpretation of Singularity is really fucking good.
all of the albums are awesome. i remember hearing quantum flux first, and not liking it for some odd reason. then iheartradio played keymaker, which was the turning point. dispossesion, abra sumente, etc... were so good. then i heard windbreaker and dream awake, then quantum and masquerade. hooked! and then i was turned off by marc but gave them a real listen and really really regretted not getting into them earlier. they are phenomenal

Wow, this is actually really good.

Not really.. Tool are something else
Brendon stacey Maybe Cave In or Tesseract. Idk, the "progressive metal/art rock" influence is strong on this album

Always been a fan of Adrian but damn this is beast!!!!

Brad Marsden I don't get this?

Brad Marsden what? Northlane released music before Quantum Flux? I thought their careers STARTED in early 2013(!)
Aye, you want soma dis💪😂
That part 2:16 - 2:40 ... fuck.
sounds tough
2020 Still waiting for the China tour.
Do you know that there are 301 miner died in coal mine in my country and the place where they died is called Soma

less synth and more gtrs in the mix please
Holy fuck guys...

Anyone else thought it was a cover of The Strokes?
Shit.... congrats!!
Linkin-lane
Good song writing ruined by horrid production. Fuck. Was so hype for this album, too.
I feel like the vocals are just way too loud and the guitars feel kinda shoved in the background in some parts.
+Zach Ingram i agree
yeah, they sound too dark and lack presence
The drums sound so weak :/ as does the over all depth of the audio.
LMFAO VINYL? HIPSTER MORE XD XD XD

This is good but it just doesn't sound like Northlane...
