Kitesurfing is a big sport, normally practiced on the coast, its also big in the US. You should check out big air kitesurfing, they can make uge jumps when the wind is right.
It's a wakeboard, just like behind a speedboat. And then another kite with 2 lines connected to a stick with a base line through the middle. Raising the baton means letting go of the wind. Stick, going down means making more use of the wind. Just like windsurfing and sailing a sailboat. I will be participating in the "Zuidwal " BOTTER competitions on Friday and Saturday. In Spakenburg.
