I love how Monty never calls it a mind slayer, even though everyone knows. It gives "the creature" a little more of a sinister air about it, than just calling it by name.

rewatching this.. just noticed that the flamekeepers while under the influence were followers of the fallen fire, but after are back to traditional Alerian flame....hmmm interesting... Monty's level of detail always amazes me. lol
To me it has seemed like Monty has been pushing the Ilirians as not as bad as the players view. In campaign 1, I would have sided with them over the Academy any day.

I was actually surprised he went with a mind flayer for the big bad. I was totally prepared for an aboleth, given the setting and the whole "town full of thralls" thing.
@@redqueen8816 There are groups that aim for some realism in fantasy. It bugs them when something that is not magical or supernatural still works without any logic behind it just because it's fantasy. For example, studded leather armor probably evolved from misinterpreting the brigandine, where the studs are actually holding metal plates underneath the leather. The leather is there to give form to the armor, not to provide defensive layer. The plates are worn under the leather to make it harder for enemy to discern where the gap between the plates is. This means that "studded leather" would be a medium armor and would have higher AC. And it wouldn't be called leather armor.

If I were playing Wrath, I would have cast a spell to shatter all of the windows and absolutely turn the environmental tide against the eldritch horrors. Monty would have probably found a way to counter it, but as soon as he hinted that sunlight upset the enemies the D&D player in me lost it trying to manifest that into happening
They forgot to tell them that the Delerium fell in other smaller chunks. That's where some of the delerium is coming from. This direction on the trade of delirium is something else entirely
Stil like 25% on the episode but i do want them to make more connections with the stuff from tierhaven. The flying jellyfish (like the mindflayer or water monster) at thr cave, Horace and the shard of delirium etc
You guys are amazing I've watched all your episodes of untold tales and dungeons of Drakenheim and I am here now. However one thing has been driving me crazy for months now, I need to know, the puzzle in dungeons of Drakenheim with the glasses...... Was the answer to drink from an empty glass, this has been on my mind for literally months. This me shouting into the void hoping Monty hears my prayers for forbidden knowledge.

I'm an historical arms and armor enthusiast who has educated and converted his players over time. We mostly use the mechanics of the armor chart, but cut the chaff and change the names and descriptions. The only significant mechanical deviation we made is that Heavy Armor has a +1 Max Dex Bonus. This puts proper respect on full plate harness, and moves heavy armor clear of light and medium armors.
I was just thinking about the DD MOTW episodes earlier today-they’re what introduced me to that system and now I’m in a forthcoming MOTW podcast. Would love to see more from this crew!
As someone who was born in a military hospital in Aschaffenburg back when there were two Germanies, it amuses me that Aschaffen and Schaffburg are two different cities. Also, I'm really worried that Aschaffen is Innsmouth....
I always heard Todesfeld as Todd's feld... Todesfeld is German and means Death Field which could hint towards a graveyard or a battlefield. So idk if their stay there would be more pleasant than the one ins Schafsburg (meaning sheep tower)
When there is no door make a door. Yea, within one of my campaigns there were a indestructable, magic resistant and unpickable door, but there were still walls, floor and ceiling to go through... That's a good rule.

The story is the interaction between players and DM narrative. For it to succeed, the DM also needs to know when to yield, especially in a conversive portion of the story.
So I’m guessing drows and eladrin are rare to see compared to high elves like sun or moon elves in the westemar, woods elves maybe are common in westemar as well

Just curious... Was the Shaftburg segment based on Cthulhu, for obvious reasons, or Glaaki from "The Inhabitant of the Lake" who infected people, turning them into zombie worshippers in return for otherworldly enlightenment.

I think I like Wrath, Rudi, and Wilhelm better than Veo Pluto and Sebastian. It almost feels more natural for the cast to play them. I could be entirely wrong however.
I think this is actually my last favourite Jill character. She's kinda mean. 2:05:59 for example situ the flamekeeper. No shade on Jill herself. The best actors can play unlikeable characters. I do miss Veo in this campaign.
I love how they all the players are so afraid and desperately trying to not meta game knowledge of how dangerous those Intellect Devourers are if they fail that INT saving throw.

@@tpaul2409 It never really existed. As the studs offer effectively zero protection. Brigandine is the closest armour to it in reality.

We all live in Toronto, near major streets, there are sirens all the time everywhere. Sadly it’s unavoidable.
