Great review. Sparklehorse is a band I definitely need to dig into further. I have the 2011 pressing of Good Morning Spider on vinyl and love it, but that's about it. Very excited to check out this album even more now.
The first 3 tracks in particular are all bangers. Stuff that should be on the radio. “Evening Star Supercharger” especially and of course “it will never stop” should be hits. But good stuff isn’t popular anymore.
I suffer with self-deletion thoughts and Elliott Smith and Mark Linkous are people I can listen to and know they truly know how I feel. Not just because they actually ended their lives, but because they’re both obvious geniuses if you take the time to listen. Basically they rip out their insides and turn it into poetry and beautiful music.
I remember back when nobody really talked about Elliott Smith, and then he gradually got bigger and more popular posthumously, obviously. Sparklehorse is def more well known now, but I’m hoping in ten years people will realize what a genius Mark was. Fantano didn’t even bother to review this album.
This is great man, thanks.
Thank you for stopping by! Enjoy that record.
It’s a brilliant album…….a great tribute to Mark🐴
Glad to hear you’re enjoying. I couldn’t agree more.

Thank you very much. I think you’re about to have a hell of a journey!
They’re amazing. As far as depressing geniuses go, Mark Linkous is up there with Elliott Smith. Most of it is less depressing than Elliott, though.
