I used to get free starts on my 23 and 24 model t roadsters frequently, more so on the 23. I drove my 23 year around and one specific occasion I got ran over. If you press all three pedals down at the same time and press hard it pushes the oil out of the clutches. If done correctly you don't need to jack up the rear wheel and then it could be cranked up. However I didn't push hard enough on the pedals, the car started immediately and ran me over. It knocked me down and I slowly watched the car drive over the top of me. I didn't get hurt in anyway and after the car cleared me I had quite a good laugh

We all wonder how did these machines sound the day they left the assembly plants. Your Super A had the smoothest operation, until the last minute. That's when the little cub woke up and said hear me , just think what I be like when I grow up. All the best wishes for 2023!

Nice video. Interesting to see the different and varied starting procedures on these old machines. Thanks for posting.

@@AntiqueCarsandStuff Thanks. This was the first time I actually put the scoop to use. My nephew had a blast using it (of course it was after I took my turn using it). I need a better camera and a better internet to really get serious about posting videos.

very respectable video. was doing research for a compilation video of my own cold starts and was comparing to others and was surprised to find someone else uploading there own original content in compilation form. almost all other compilations are stolen content from other channels. very well done! also figured since you had a question on international paint colors you'd like this bit of info. Fairbanks dishpan engines had two colors, red for hit and miss engines, and green for throttle governed ones originally! great video!

I think GM considered using a “free start” system in the 1980’s but decided not to because of public opinion surveys. They would have still needed a smaller back up starter system. Of course in the earlier years Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler and others had the “silent starters” which was a reversing generator. In the early 1950’s Dad had a 1937 McCormick Deering he bought new for $802. I have the bill of sale.

After having worked on so many older tractors, what do you think of the John Deere 2-cylinder engines in comparison to the others?

John Deere is not my favorite, but the 2-cylinder engines are impressive. They run well and I love the way they sound.

Me and my dad just picked up a fordson f. It is in rough shape, with an incorrect carb and magneto. Any advice on fixing those?
