My favorite short book is The Little Prince. I read it in 90 minutes and by the end I was crying. 150 pages was enough to hit me RIGHT in the feels. Love that book so much.
A Monster Calls was such a quick read for me too and I bawled my eyes out 💔 I think Becky Albertalli's books are really quick reads! They're also just so amazing!!
MC Monkey I read it in one sitting last summer (I got it the day the paperback came out) and I read it for like 2 hours and thought I had only been reading for thirty minutes
Thanks for the recommendations! For some reason I tend to read longer books & never go for the quick reads. I think we all need a light read every once in a while. The Red Notebook really stood out to me so I'll definitely have to check that out!
Fifteen Dogs is a really good short and quick read that made me want to start reading more and more quick read and explore further more other categories. Its short but filled with emotions and feels - highly recommended !
aah i just recently read We Were Liars, definitely a quick read which is good because after finishing it i wanted to go back and re-read it to see all the little clues i missed the first time!
The Perks of Being a Wallflower, anyone?! And Beastkeeper by Cat Hellison. The Maze Runner is pretty short too, and the Percy Jackson books are quick and easy. Also, Nimona by Noelle Stevenson, which is a comic sort of book, but still amazing.
Eh, you're probably right. It's shorter than a lot of the other dystopians I've read, but I guess in comparison to most books, it's not too short at all. The other ones I mentioned are, though! I recommend them to anyone and everyone!
Latest favorite quick read for me has been For This Life Only by Stacey Kade at 302 pages. It's about a boy named Jace who is living with the recent death of his twin brother Eli from a car crash. The accident left him alive but unable to play baseball anymore and he spends the book trying to figure out how to move on while also questioning his faith and figuring out what he believes compared to what his parents taught him to. I know it's over 300 pages but its a really fast paced book that made my cry a lot more than I usually do! Great video
Aristotle and Donte discover the secrets of the universe was a super fast read for me, I read it all straight through in one sitting. Not sure how long it actually is, but the characters in it were just so endearing, and I loved the relationships they both had with their parents! Bc in YA books now is mostly either dead, evil, or abusive parents and it was so refreshing to see those loving parental relationships for a change! Of course I loved the main characters as well, Donte is so not what you expect from a teenage boy. This story was just so simple and refreshing!
i rarely read books in a day, but the one that took me literally 5 hours to read fully was Wintergirls. I loved it, especially for a 14 year old mind not knowing much about the world, it taught me that not everyone is as happy as i am (or was when i read the book). That and Thirteen Reasons Why, a book i read in two days, was a huge game changer for me, i recommend them to anyone wanting a quick read (300 pages lol) but a mind opener as well.
I just read it yesterday and it only took me 3 or 4 hours!! Even though there have been lots of poor reviews, I really liked it bc it was v entertaining (plus, scorpious is too cute)
Haha that was me with The Upside of Unrequited, I had no idea it was a companion book for Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, I just thought it was by the same author lol. But like I was going to stop reading the Upside of Unrequited once I had started.
I read We Were liars super fast too, but it took me like a few days to realize what actually happened in the end and I was so shocked. The only reason I don't like reading shorter books that much is because I just finish them too fast and I feel like I didn't spend enough time with it and I easily forget them. Idk if that's just me. Although I prefer shorter books to the super long ones. Loved this video and thanks for the recs!! I really need these because right now I'm more into shorter books.
The False Prince. Finished it in one day. Couldn't put it down. One of my favorite books of all time. If you love sassy, clever, mysterious characters, this is a great trilogy.
The Perks of Being the Wallflower is definitely one of my favorite quick reads. It is so heartwarming yet heart breaking at times, it's remarkable. I have always wanted to read A Monster Calls. I have heard you talk about it so much on your channel and the more you talk about I feel the need to read it
These are great choices!! I love After Ever After! The first book Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie is amazing!! Oh and A Monster Calls is gorgeous, plus The Ocean at the End of the Lane is a whimsical masterpiece.
I recently read We Were Liars in an afternoon and I loved it!!! I kind of figured out what was going on before the curtain fell, but I still very much enjoyed it!! Great recs!!!! When I have been slugging through an 800+ page tome and need a palate cleanser, these books are GREAT!!!!!
The Sun is Also a Star is fantastic as is The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight. I finished them both in a few hours and sometimes its nice to read something you don't really need to put too much thought into
Lately for me I have not minded taking ages to finish a book. It does make me sad that I'm not reading as much as I could. But I like getting more invested in the story. Sometimes taking longer to read something makes you remember it more and spend more quality time. Of course I understand why people want to get through as many books as possible. But that's my view
Oh my gosh A Monster Calls 😭😭😭!!! I loved Ocean too! Included it in my faves I read because of booktube video :) oooh and I've been meaning to read We Were Liars! I'm so behind the timessss
Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce is always a quick read for me. That entire quartet is a quick read in all actuality since the books are all fairly small. I think they're all under 300 pages depending on which edition you get.
The selection series is such a quick read. I must admit it is doesn't have the best plot or writing style but it is so addicting I finished the first book the night I started it and the second and third the next day.
I definitely need to read The Red Notebook. I have never heard of it before and it sounds really REALLY interesting! This is why I love watching your video's, I always find good books to ready!!
omg I was about to read after ever after b4 I read drums girls and dangerous pie n my friend legit screamed n snatched the book out of my friend and said NO U HAVEN'T READ THE FIRST ONE ULL SPOIL IT FOR URSELF n I still thank her to this day ... this is friendship
I feel the same way about we were liars! The ocean at the end of the lane has been sitting on my shelf for a while but if it's a quick read imma pick it up asap:)
my fav quick reads are The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, Bridge to Terabithia, and short stories collection Berjuta Rasanya (by Indonesian writer Tere Liye)
kindred spirits is a 62 page read by rainbow rowell and cost me £1 its from world book day 2016 and i really enjoyed it WE WERE LIARS GAVE ME LIFE i loved it so much
I've actually just finished We Were Liars. I have the most beautiful hardback cover from Waterstones - it's like a dark blue with patterns on it. My friend and I bought matching ones xD
I really enjoyed We Were Liars! Cut was a really amazing book and it only has 168 pages then This Song Will Save Your Life has 273 but you'll fly through the pure awesomeness!💙 Have a great day and thank you for this video!💙
I love We Were Liars and I read most of it during a lunch break at work. Thank goodness I didn't finish until I got home though-- bc tears. Lots of tears.
I am such a slow reader that I am going to say: the shades of magic trilogy is probably one of my fave quick reads right now :D The fact that I finished it within two weeks next to a life and school stress is very quick for me :D
I loved We Were Liars. It does seem to be hit or miss! Another good quick read--Every Heart A Doorway. Oh, and 5 to 1 by Holly Bodger--really enjoyed that one, its written in prose and its under 200 pages.
also, you should know that as soon as you recommended we were liars, i asked my friend, who was in a trip to USA, to buy it and i totes fell in love with it, it was amazing to read a Real book in english ( since i am from Argentina ), a whole new experience, so thanks for that! have a nice day!
I just recently read We Were Liars and I fell into the "hit category... It was amazing but really sad and I cried at the end (I tend to get super emotional while reading books that are remotely sad)
The book "we were liars" is called "Maybe it´s all you need to know" (kanske är det allt du behöver veta) in Swedish, an I absolutely LOVE it. (I cried so muchhh)
With reference to 'The Ocean at the End of the Lane:' "This book is trippy" - my thoughts exactly "What the poop did I just read?!" - my thoughts again. :P Honestly though, I was reading the entire book with a scrunched up face of confusion, but at the same time, something about the story struck something within me that got me scared. A monster calls! Story time: my cousin wanted me to watch the movie with her. But it was a really long day so I fell a sleep in the first 10 minutes. The next day she told me she had a copy of the book, she asked me if I wanted to watch the movie or read the book. I read the book, but still didn’t watch the movie😂. Such a good book
I remember checking out After Ever After from my school library , and turning it in a couple hours later on the same day. The librarian got really mad at me for constantly coming to her 3 times a day to check out books 😂
Most of my favourite books all turn into quick reads because when I start them I can't put them down!
same and then I'm like "i probably should have paced myself" (especially with books with sad endings)
So true. Like I need to get ready for school and I'll be devouring a book

My favorite short book is The Little Prince. I read it in 90 minutes and by the end I was crying. 150 pages was enough to hit me RIGHT in the feels. Love that book so much.

Just wanted so say that I always admire your enthusiasm and great, quirky ways of explaining books.
With reference to 'The Ocean at the End of the Lane:'
"This book is trippy" - my thoughts exactly
"What the poop did I just read?!" - my thoughts again. :P
Honestly though, I was reading the entire book with a scrunched up face of confusion, but at the same time, something about the story struck something within me that got me scared. Like, really really really scared. I think some of the elements within the book were sort of like the things that visited me in nightmares, but I'm not too sure ^^; It was a trippy read indeed
love all of these books!
If you like fun quick reads you should read the selection series by Kiera Cass! So good and all the books are so short!
I read The Handmaid's Tale which is just 311 pages. Took me less than a week to finish, and I was also reading it with the audiobook. I recommend. 👍🏼 Scary and sad, but overall a great book.
My favorite quick read is The Leaving. I just finished it today and I don't know what to do with my life.
