Question Time ⁉️ What is your favourite tip or shortcut for Procreate? Let me know! 👇🏼👇🏼
What about the apple pen
Does Procreate have a account system? I mean to ask,If someone gets a new iPad, can they use old Procreate? Or they've to buy Procreate everytime for a new device?
I meant does it work without an apple pen
@@meghnamondal9873idk if you found your answer by now, but if you use the same icloud between devices, you should be able to redownload it with out repurchasing
This is all the information I was looking for, thank you so much. Following right now! :)
You are very welcome, I’m glad it helped 😊
Fantastic review man ,.....Thank You , Subscribed ,...Looking forward to watching your channel !
Thanks so much, I appreciate all the kind words and support! A lot more content on the way!
I really love this video ty for the advice
Thanks so much, glad it was useful 🙏🏻
I really like that this app doesn’t do these horrendous in-app purchases
I know right!
Thank you. This was excellent.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
WWWOOOOOOWWWW!!! I love this! ❤️❤️❤️
Rockett … you are on fire, bro!!!👍 Thanks a million for these incredible tips. I will be buying an iPad in the next couple of months and will be definitely buying Procreate! Thanks again!!! 👌
Thanks Dora, glad you like the video and that it helped a bit as well, excited for you to get an iPad in the future 🤘🏻
Thank you, i'm getting procreate for getting all A's on my test! Thanks for the review :D
Amazing, good work!
I'm getting ready to purchase a 9th gen iPad and Apple Pencil for my 10 year old to take her love for art into the digital space. I was clueless about what app(if any) would be easy and fun to learn with and still powerful enough to create amazing art with. You've answered all my questions. I'm excited for her to dive in and express herself in Pro Create. Thank You!
Hey, that’s so amazing to hear! Procreate in the iPad is the most amazing way to encourage creativity, and one of the cleanest (no pencil shavings, or rubber bits). Thank you for the kind words as well 🙏🏻
aw your daughter must be so lucky, i'm begging my mom to get me one i've been begging for years 😭😭
@@idk...anymorepls ill give you some advice to maybe help persuade your mom. Make a challenge with her, challenge her with cleaning your room every day for 2 weeks straight and if you do it, you get your iPad as a reward.
Get creative with the challenge but make it something she wouldn’t expect from you. Haha, hope this helps 😄
@@Jaylou88 well.. in my country chores aren't really a thing to get gifts for so it would be pointless 😭 did your daughter get it though? i hope she enjoys it! hopefully i'll get mine soon.
This is exactly me right now, same age daughter thanks for posting this!
If I ever get an iPad I’ll definitely get procreate!
It’s amazing! Make sure to follow the channel if you do ever get one haha
@@RockettDesigni might get a digital tablet or an ipad and download procreate! Do i have to pay every month for something or not? (i know that if idownload pro create its one-pay,i mean for things like premium brushes that everyone uses)
@@Dinoayaka just a once off payment and it’s your for life with no extra cost 🙂
Yeah me too I get the ipad and i will buy a procreate
I need an update of this Guy! Did you get your IPad?
I have been purely pen, pencil and coloured markers for my whole life (39 years old now). I really want to get into this as my eldest daughter makes insane illustrations on hers. She even does requests at her uni where she sets up a booth and hundreds of the students come lining up to get pictures done. Seeing her and how good she got (way above me now despite me teaching her) really inspires me to get into it.
Hey, thanks for the awesome comment. Sounds like your eldest daughter is doing some amazing things, and people are loving what she is creating which is inspiring to hear! I'm glad it's inspiring you also, I think the best part about digital art is we have a truly adaptable canvas with the ability to keep practicing and creating wherever we have our iPad. when I made the jump from pencil and paper to digital, it was intimidating and hard, but if you put the time in im sure you will not only love the process, but create some amazing art at the same time. Happy creating!
@@RockettDesign Thanks. I posted my first attempt at realistic shading with pencils and smudging on IG yesterday. It really is cool how quickly you can move and change things and such. But yeah it feels like learning to draw all over again.
You did a great job teaching her the arts, and i hope you’ll leaen these skills and create a beautiful arts like your eldest daughter did❤
Thank you . Never tried it but yesterday ordered an iPad to have a try at procreate .
So good to hear, enjoy and thanks for watching and the comment ✅
ive been using ibispaint for a year and i really love it but there are so many features procreate has that i wanna try out. i might buy it and try drawing on it for a month to see which app i like more
Hey, oh cool yeah ive used Ibispaint before and liked it. Give Procreate a go and see what you think but at the end of the day just use what's you like the most and what gets the best results for you. Happy creating!
Good thing he did that thing with the dings while explaining why lack of vector support is a good thing.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I’m looking to get an iPad specifically for this… I have never tried a tablet for art! Is there a specific ipad that works best or is it just on any app store and works on any version
Most iPads will work perfectly fine, i would pick up the Apple Pencil as well as it will really make a difference with digital art. Procreate is a paid app, but a 1 time cost, no subscription which is awesome! Good luck and have fun creating!
How much space should I get? will I be okay with 64 if im using it to design mic ups and make designs for my clothing brand?
Yeah 64 should be fine for what you want to do 🙂
Hey pal I'm beginner to digital art so I'm thinking to get ipad 10 generation with apple pencil but i confused about storage like should i go with 64gb or 256gb? You think is it okay or should i choose some other ipad variant? Btw your video helped me to know about procreate ☺thanks
Hey, that’s so great to hear! That should be a really good iPad for you, and with the Apple Pencil you’ll be able to make some amazing art! I would say if you’re ever torn about storage size, maybe go the higher storage size just to be safe so that you don’t run out in the future. Thanks so much for the kind words about my channel, happy designing!
hey, can you please tell which pencil to buy with IPad 9th gen? and can we record screen and edit videos in IPad? ( i want to record my art journey and share for others)
Hey, great question! You will need to get the Gen 1 Apple Pencil which will work great on your iPad. if you want to record the screen on your iPad, you just need to open the control centre (Google: control centre for iPad 9th to see how to do it) and you will see a little record button, tap on this and your screen will record what you do. If you would like to edit your videos, I would grab iMovie and you’ll be able to do some basic edits in that, good luck 👍🏻
thank you
Your welcome 🙏🏻
I’m no means an artist but I would like to doodle and mess around with it. Would you still think it’s worth it for me even though I have no artistic ability? Thank you! And very nice and well put together video!
Hey 👋🏻 yeah it is worth it for sure, even just to relax and pass some time, and from there you never know where it might take you, worth it sir sure. And thanks about the video 🙂
You don’t have too be good at it cuz your good at anything!
Great vid, quick question. Can you get an image or PDF, trace over it and then relocate the trace so that it is no longer over the original? Then I would want to modify the trace further. I need to this to demonstrate things to clients
Hi, sorry for the delayed reply, yes you can, you just want to make sure everything is on its own layer, that way you can select each layer and modify it or move it and keep working on things individually. Import your image/PDF, then create a new layer for the trace and you should be good to go. Good luck!
Thanks mate, great stuff
When i will buy my first ipad, Im going to buy this app even if im not an artist 😀
That’s amazing, you totally should, it’s a fantastic app and can really take your art to another level! Happy creating when you do!
I have a question I’ve seen everyone use apple pencils to use procreate but can we use it without a Apple Pencil? Like with are fingers can we still use it
Hey 👋🏻 yeah you sure can, you might not get the same detail but Procreate works with just your finger and it’s a lot of fun!
I just bought another 2nd hand iPad with 128gb drive as my 32gb one is just not enough and sent most of my synth and effects apps to the cloud. As luck would have it, it came with an Apple Pencil so now I’m thinking it would be fun to draw my own album covers.
I have two questions please. A) what is vector cover? B) Can you import a photograph to use as a template to draw over/trace then remove it after you’ve finished your drawing?
Cheers
Gary
Hi! Amazing to hear you have a new iPad, and even better it came with an Apple Pencil! First of all yes you can import an image, trace over it and then discard the original image, just import the image you want, then create a new layer for your trace, then you can delete the original image once you are done with the trace. Secondly, Vector graphics are created so that there are no limitations on size once the design or graphic is complete i.e if I was designing a logo for a company I would create a vector so they could use it on a business card or a billboard, no size limitations. Procreate specialises in raster images using a grid of colorized pixels. If you zoom in on a raster image, the individual pixels become pronounced and visible. Nothing to worry about here as you wouldn't need to create Vector images unless you knew you did. Most of my design work is not Vector therefor I create in Procreate, hope that helps!
Which IPad should I take? For the Apple Pencil (the new one )?
Whichever one you are most comfortable with, iPad Pro will give you the most power but a long as you have the pencil you’ll be good to go 🙂
I live is a complete different country where the price is around 60,which is reallyyyyy expensive for an app but ill still save up to buy it!!!
Yeah it does vary from country to country but it is a fantastic app and I think you will really love and enjoy it!
okay but not supporting vector graphics means that, if you're a graphic designer, that you're going to need multiple apps, because now you're going to have to bit trace it and make corrections to that.
if you're doing graphic design everything you make has to be able to be scaled, you need to be able to change color palletes quickly, and you have to be able to send it to other people and they need to be able to do the same thing.
it's not a positive that he can't do vector graphics it's just fine that it can't because it's more for illustration anyway, And the features that it has in that regard are really good. it's not a predatory subscription.
affinity designer is a one-time purchase that does vectors. I think I'm going to try clip studio though. It seems like it sort of does everything, But apparently the complaint is that the app is incredibly inefficient now because it has so many extensions that you can't turn off. so we will see
I already worked with Procreate some years ago on an older Ipad. I wanna buy a new Ipad Air, but i have no idea if 64GB is fine. Would it work (mostly pencil like sketches and work pdfs)? Thank you for the great video tho!
Oh nice! Yeah 64GB will work fine, the big difference between storage sizes is the availability and number of layers, bigger storage size relates to possibly more layers available on bigger canvases. But for every day drawing and sketching, 64GB will be fine, enjoy 👍🏻
Thank you!@@RockettDesign
Hi! I am really struggling with finding the right iPad. I'm new to degital design and new with Apple. Is there any iPad you would recommend. I only want to use it for procreate. Any help?
Hi 👋🏻 that’s a great question and a hard one to answer, I would go something like an iPad 10th gen as it will give you a good size to draw on and do you well for years to come, you could also do the iPad Air as it will have a better screen and uses Apple pencil 2 🙏🏻
@@RockettDesign this helps, thank you so much!
Do you think it's okay if I used Ipad generation 1 for procreate?
Is it an iPad Pro Gen 1?
The amazing hand flipping us off is amazing
Haha yeah gotta love the hand 😂
@@RockettDesign 😂
What I wanna know is the workaround for my damn ipad heating up like crazy when I use Procreate. It's a real problem. When I kept it plugged in while using the app, it's even worse!
Yeah it’ll do that if you keep it plugged in like that, no real way around it, just a huge screen and when it’s used for a long time it’ll get warm for sure
I’m having problems using the brushes. I’m not able to download them
I’m sorry to hear that, the brushes should be pre-installed so if they aren’t working I would try deleting Procreate and re-installing it, if you do this make sure you have saved any artwork you have created so you don’t lose it, good luck
Does Procreate have a account system? I mean to ask,If someone gets a new iPad, can they use old Procreate? Or they've to buy Procreate everytime for a new device?
Once you buy Procreate you won’t have to pay for it again. If you get a new iPad then you just re-download it on the new one and you will be good to go
When we purchase on iPad does it save the credit card details?
You will need to purchase the app through the App Store on your iPad, and yes they will need card details
Do we have to buy it only one time or we have to buy it again another month?
1 payment and you own it for life 👍🏻
The middle finger in the background tho- haha!
Good eyes you have haha
Very interesting. I have two questions. 1. Does it have ads on it?
I used MediBang Paint bad the ads are SO annoying even when I draw, they are at the top and I sometimes accidentally touch it when not to take me away from the app.
2. Layer combine. When I combined all my layers into one, then add another for painting under it. The combined later has a white background on it that I have to erased it, wasting time on finishing my drawing and possibly ruin the final design.
So does Procreate have that? If not, I’ll bite it and get that and delete MediBang Paint on my IPad
I’ll tell you when I download it on my ipad
Nope no ads
@@JellyKittenszs ok then, that’s good. But you saw the 2nd question I n there as well? Can you check to see if the combined layer has a white background under the drawing. MediBang Paint has this issue and it’s so annoying to erase it WITHOUT ruining your drawing. Also if you need to add another layer under it to paint, it’s frustrating.
Hi, so no ads ever at all. Also the only ‘layer’ that will have a background I’ll on it will be the background layer, anything created above this will be completely clear until you draw/paint on it, it’s a fantastic app!
@@RockettDesign alright then. I also should of reword my second question. When I combined all the layers into one layer. There is a white paint on it with it. So when I add a new layer, put it under the combined layer, and then paint on the layer. The white paint on the combined layer blocks it and then I have to erased it without doing any deletion of the drawing. I have MediBang Paint on my IPad and it’s been decent on it. But I’ll change to another drawing app that doesn’t have issues on it. Also l do you need an account on there for saving your drawings on there?
Hello! Hopefully someone can help me with my concern 😅
I don't know much about iPads, but I can't afford an iPad Pro or the Air. I'm just starting and among my options is the iPad 9th Gen and the iPad10th Gen.
Of both I don't know which is more feasible in regards to Procreate 😔
Hi, any iPad will be great, but the 10th gen will give you more screen size and has a faster all-round system, that’s the one to aim for I think, good luck and happy creating 🙏🏻
@@RockettDesign thank you !!! ☺️ may I ask another question? What do you think between the iPad 10th gen and the iPad air 5th gen? I'm kinda curious about both devices too 😅
Both are great but the Air has the better screen and better Pencil option as well 👍🏻
I've been thinking about buying procreate for some time now, but I don't have an ipad, do you think buying one bc of procreate is worth it?
Hi, sorry for the late reply, yeah Procreate is amazing and getting an iPad just to use it is very worth it in my opinion. I would say 95% of what I do on my iPad is Procreate based.
Ipad is expensive for me and I like do it so Is procreate for Android also? If no so which android app is like procreate in android for animation maker?
Procreate is not on android unfortunately, look into Infinite Painter for android, I have heard good things, good luck.
Im only buying a ipad for procreate 😭
Nice! Worth every penny!
Same😂
Same 😭 lmao this app has been all over my fyp and I rlly wanna try digital art bec I’ve been doing traditional art for a long time now
Does the app ever go on sale?
Unfortunately, no, I’ve never seen it go on sale, but it really is worth every cent if you do end up investing it 👍🏻
Can procreate work on any generation of ipads?
It will work on the following iPads:
iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th generation)
iPad Pro 11-inch (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation)
iPad Pro 10.5-inch
iPad Pro 9.7-inch
iPad (5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th generation)
iPad mini (5th and 6th generation)
iPad mini 4
iPad Air (3rd, 4th and 5th generation)
iPad Air 2
@@RockettDesign thanks.
How much u need to pay for the app
Hey, depends on what country you are in. In Australia it’s currently $19.99 and that’s a one time cost which is great

Nice review, have decided to not buy it.
I wish all the reviewers will provide all pro and cons withouth brushing it off in 1 sentence.
Thanks, and fair call, do what’s best for you and hopefully you find something that suits your needs 👍
Procreate does not cost only 15$..it costs from 600$ upto 1000$..if you think about it😉
Guess it depends if you already have an iPad or not 😂
