When Rarran said “this is the first expansion I’ve played off camera in a while” I immediately thought of Rarran trying to get the hunter spell to work off camera

And is somehow not very good... well, not somehow, because it loses to Death Knight and loses hard to Paladin and Tony Druid. Doesn't matter it wins hard against Demon Hunter.
Videos like this are always a delight Rarran. Love watching card rates. My favorite are the yugioh rates with Stevie.
Stevie is just so hilariously funny that I think he's probably up there with Reynad as Rarran's most popular guest. When he yelled "MY BROTHER IN CHRIST THAT IS A BLOODFEN RAPTOR" I almost cried I laughed so hard
We need another video where Reynad guesses how good modern Standard cards are

Actually really good idea by Sunny how to buff the blackrock'n'roll - just add "draw a card". If not enough - "draw 1 minion card". Also not sure if Voone is a really good example of support card for that.
draw still means you're lacking mana. I'd probably instead add "summon a 3/3 taunt" or what not, so you get at least a single blocker to give you breathing room and profit off of the card.

Rarran, don't worry about Tony. Technically until you get him as a signature you can still deny having spent a single cent to get him since, obviously, you don't have him.
Until Snnuy actually said "Zilliax becomes an 8/7" I was very badly misreading Blackrock n' Roll. Thought it was setting their attack and health equal to their cost and you'd need to build your deck as though it was Evolve Shaman or something and was wondering how that could possibly be worth 5 mana.

@@impkiller5932 It probably is. It just doesn't have a deck to go in yet. This happened before with cards like Defile. In fact, this is a case where players are judging the card NOT based on the current meta.
@@vigge111111 that's mostly because there's usually no dramatic meta shifts and knowing if a card is good in a vacuum is less useful than knowing if it would be good now.
I love you for doing these Rarran ❤ You and Snnuy have such a good chemistry, and it's very interesting to see how those outside Hearthstone view the new cards. Hopefully we get Reynads take on some of these cards in the future too!
Stats-wise, Blackrock n Roll is actually the best card in every deck it's in.

26:30 A cool idea for a new card! Whenever you attack, gain armor equal to your attack. Could be tacked onto a minion, a weapon, or even a permanent effect like Inzah if it's costly. That would be a really cool card, and give life to some current cards in standard like the "gain 10 attack, can't attack face"

11:18 That being said, Paus-ik is arguably the best legendary of the set (At least is top 5) and is great addition to most aggro decks, most notably Face hunter, any mech deck, hybrid hunter (an agressive midrange deck) and Amalgam warrior (Altough that deck is tier 3).
@@somerandomgamer8504 I kinda forgot to mention something important: 3/4 of the new set SUCKS. The only new legendaries I would call good are "E.T.C.", "Paus-ik", "Fizzle", "JIVE, INSECT!", "Halveria Darkraven", "Zok Fogsnout" and arguably "Love everlasting" and "Tony, king of Piracy" which is only 8 out of 27. I guess it's them trying to neuter powercreep. Btw, Warrior did not got the worst legendaries, it was Mage.
When he mentioned the Seraphine card discounting the first card every turn I was REALLY expecting you to just show him Love Everlasting
I still can't believe they didn't make the minions summoned by Rhythm and Roots have taunt, it was the bare minimum.... it would still be bad, but not THAT bad

Rock master voone is so under rated. In amalgam warrior, as long as you copy one amalgam band and like 1-2 other good cards he feels incredible. My version is an aggro list that runs nellie and school teachers as a top end value generator and it feels amazing to copy those.
Demon Hunter was definitely emo/screamo/alt rock. Taste of Chaos was a live music tour and Going Down Swinging is ABSOLUTELY a reference to Sugar We're Goin Down.
I've never played a DH deck seriously before but I will just for this expansion.
Love the card guessing series! Although as someone who plays a lot of card games - E.T.C. gives you what other games refer to as a side-board. E.T.C. gives you a 3 card "sideboard" you can use in a BO1 format. MTG has cards which can bring cards from your sideboard (usually a BO3 thing) to the game right now - making it a BO1 "extra cards"
These are always golden. This expansion is so flavorful and cool...

Voone is not a support card for Blackrock 'n' Roll. Menagerie Warrior and Blackrock 'n' Roll Warrior are two different decks. Menagerie is midrange and Blackrock 'n' Roll is control. A "support" card for B'n'R is the 9 mana Trench-something that attacks three enemies and of course as you mentioned, Zilliax. Another support card is Finley to actually have the buffed cards in your hand.
That being said, B'n'R is indeed dogshit, and Menagerie is not good, but not trash.
Snnuy speaks really good English. But with my Dutch sensors I was still able to notice his accent a little bit! Great video btw, I really like these collabs with creators from different card games!

he just made a good design point about black rock 'n' roll, making it able to draw a card would be a really great buff to it
@Snnuy the other thing to remember is that removal spells are *way* stronger in Hearthstone. Small minions get popped for 1 or 2 mana with some form of development on the spell that popped them. It’s why minions have to either have some way to gain value the turn they’re played, or else have an on death effect, to be used. The only way a do nothing minion gets value is if it’s comically massive for the cost.

I think it would be really fun if you did some gameplay videos of each game together. But you have to use decks built by the person who doesn't know the game that well. So it's like the practical exam of rating the cards.
I actually got the signature tony in my first 3 standard packs, but at the time I had no idea what he did. Freaked out a bit when I looked it up
I was excited for outcast DH going into this expansion (cause I tried to play it a bunch in March of the lich king) and Halveria has let me kill people on turn 4…right after a rotation.
Congratulations Rarran between this video and your f2p streams showing the loaner decks am I now excited to try hearthstone again for the first time since 2017. But in all seriousness your videos are super entertaining keep it up.

I run Pozzik on my mech mage, I usually, most of the matches, don't play him, but usually because I don't draw it, but if anyone says that it can be replaced, I totally agree... I just don't know exactly what replace him with it...
I love Tony too, but I am satisfied with a mere golden version.

As someone who has absolutely never seen anything Heartstone, this looks really cool!
The thing about Leo being huge into music and putting a lot of effort into the expansion totally makes sense, I feel like the flavor is perfectly on-point for this expansion and some of the theming is incredibly creative.

Is there any reliable data regarding how rare the signature legendary cards are?
My only complaint with signature cards is that since I primarily watch HS on YT and haven't played it since, Descent of Dragons I think it was? I see someone play one of these cards and I have no idea what it does and can't even pause/rewind the video to read the text on it as it gets played.

One thing to keep in mind: Wild X Standard.
The guest was considering It as If It was Wild. So a card my be weak now and inevitably break the game at some point. Where in Standard It might rotate out before that happens.
I have a 65% winrate with amalgam warrior. Is that because 65% of ladder is blood dk and this turbo stomps it. Yes...

Runeterra player here. Stranglethorn Heart I would even put in if it was a 0 Cost: Trade this card for something in your deck. Just the tradeable thing is nuts and makes ur deck basically consist of 3? less copies

Rhythm and Roots is not that extremely terrible. I've been playing it in Tony Druid for a few days now and it works really well actually.
Also, the most underrated card of the expansion is Cage Head. I'm ~ 65% winrate with my unholy Cage Head deck in around 50 games.
