This guy is rare. He was brave enough to go against the system to expand healthcare for dogs.
Thank you
Wish there was more like you in this world. Most doctors just rip people off their money.
Technically he may not be a doctor anymore. He has a video explaining it but basically I’m saying because he gives honest information he didn’t fit in with the rip people off club and his license to practice revoked.
He still is a doctor, just not in practice. You cannot take away the knowledge.@@brandonhenn5889
People dismiss a dogs unsteady legs for old age but sometimes it's just sore paws. When a dog has sore paws he wont want you to touch them so you have to be creative. The way I cut my dog's nails is I place a bowl with a little milk (can mix it with some water) in it in front of him, he has to be lying down when drinking. Then I cut one nail. It takes time. You have to repeat the process. Sometimes I only cut four nails a day. It's made a huge difference in his life. He walks with more vigour, he sits and gets up way faster and easily.
I love your videos, recently discovered your channel and it helps me a lot to prepare my Animals Naturopath final exams. We need more teachers, vets and natutopaths like you ❤ Thanks!
doctor, you really deserve a compliment! i can feel your heart in your work and that is the essence... much love and respect to you and your family, you helped me and my staffordshire bullterrier a lot! my dog has acl problems and we are waiting for braces to arrive and we will try it :)
Thanks
That's brilliant. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You're a good person.
I love this channel. Thank you so much for all your advice.
This was perfect. We just adopted a senior dog a few days ago and she has been in a lot of discomfort, getting up and down. It’s a struggle, but I also see the very audible clicking. We have occasional crankiness at our other dog who usually minds their business. The struggle to get up. This gives me good intel and points to share with our vet this upcoming week. To hopefully medication as needed to give her some relief.
Dr Andrew is heaven sent. Thank you for showing us
:-)
Chunky Father agree
Lewis is such a great dog!! Thank you for the video and the channel!!!!
Thanks, Doc! That was fantastic! So glad we found you!
Lewis is the most relaxed 😎 dog ever!! He’s doing so good during his exam.
He really was:)
Thanks for the great video,I’m going through the same thing with my fur baby. Your video was so helpful.
Lewis is a beautiful patient and would love to have him. He’s such a sweetheart. Thanks again.
You are such a special gift to the pet owner/lover world ❤
Louis ♥ One in a million. Thank you SO much. I also have a "Louis" . He is 10 and never seems to be in pain but his feet drag. He still loves to walk & often looks confused when his rear doesn't respond. I had no idea what was going on but now I do. Bless your heart, Sir. We didn't go to the vet because of Covid. I can't tell you how much you have helped.
I'm happy to help any way I can.
Can a skin bacteria cause my dog not to walk or his legs bend?
My dog got injured yesterday, this video is super helpful thank you
Thank you so much for this comprehensive video!! I was overwhelmed with information online but your video has it all in one place. I love the way you explain things. I am in my third month of no coffee and going strong!
What a good helper 😊
You are an amazing person and doing an incredible thing! Your very helpful, informed and straightforward. I appreciate the time you take to do these videos!
Thank you for the kind words! Hope my videos helped. 🙏🏼
This has been the exact information I needed for my German shepherd thank you ..
We adopted a senior 🐶 plott hound 11. She was the best match for my senior golden this past November. This video really helped me identify what was wrong with her. I knew it was more than hip displaecia, because of how upset she would get about a few areas in her back. She was crated at the shelter around 7 years; which had health impacts but she is just as spunky as can be. Joint support has helped tremendously. Our vet gave her anti-inflammatory Rx, but we only use it very sparingly because I don’t want it to impact her internal health (liver and kidneys) which is good. We also gated the stairs, so she doesn’t climb them more than to go to bed. We lift her also as needed. I am looking forward to watching some of your other natural remedies videos. Quality of life is of paramount importance and you definitely have some 👍 tips.
I'm so glad that I can text as much as I want in this comment section, Louis is such a good boy he knows he's helping you help others, I can read dogs very well and he is just letting you do the norm. He's used to this from you and plays along every time. RIP Lewis 💙. Thank you Luis for all you have done for us, you're such a good boy letting Daddy teach us how to take care of our fur babies. Thank you Andrew Jones for helping all of us help our pets. I'm sure you know how dachshunds front legs are and how it's hard for them to spread apart from the chest. That's the way my dachshund Chloe is and when I told the that's assistant that her front legs don't spread apart and be very careful when removing her tumor in her armpit. She told me when dogs are under they tend to be more relaxed and able to spread apart. As a pet owner I'm very aware of my dog in every way since I'm home everyday and she is my caregiver❤ I noticed her limping but I can't remember if it was right after surgery or a week or so later. If they accidentally put her arm apart more than it should go what muscle would they have torn or possibly hurt? I am not accusing I am just trying to figure out why after removing the tumor she now has this limp. When she walks her head Bobs up and down as she is not wanting to put too much pressure but yet she is walking on her left front leg. What's really strange is she prefers to run. I have noticed she will wait for me to get 12 feet in front of her when I ask her if she's ready to eat and then she runs into the kitchen. Now I know she has addictions like a cat does with a string. She has to chase the dogs along the fence when I'm outside no matter how hard I try to train her not to. She also still chases squirrels (God bless her) dachshunds love to Chase. I think I've wrote enough for now even though I have so much to ask. So reminder the question I have for you today is if her front legs were spread apart more than they should what muscle could possibly be injured? Should I be keeping her in the laundry room restricted of normal activities to help this healing process? Of course letting her out for potty breaks. Thank you for everything you do.😊👍💜 oh yeah one more thing, I'm able to pull her whole arm backwards towards her rear as she's lying down and if I were to try to stretch the arm forward towards her head she pulls back
Thank you so much for this video. I've just been looking for more information about degenerative myelopathy after my dog was diagnosed with it and came across you. My dog hates going to the vet, and with coronavirus I wasn't able to go in the room with him, so wasn't sure how much/how well they were able examine him. They said he had been difficult to handle, but it seemed that the pain was in his back. After going through your video, it seems the pain is definitely not in the back, but in the hip. Might film my dog's reactions to take with me to a future appointment so they can get a better idea of how to help us. Fantastic video, and very well explained.
Wow, I just learn so much from you - great and invaluable information. Thank you so much for sharing 😁
Brilliant channel, so helpful.
I love how calm this dog is lol
Thank you for all you do here very helpful
Thank you for the taking the time to differentiate the three problems. My GS woke up one morning a few days ago and was not able to move both hind legs , she is happy and is eating and is able to sit up , I use a sling to walk her. This is the most heart breaking thing to see. I did order 95% Curcumin which has flaxseed salmon oil and a few other things you mentioned would help. All I can say I hope and pray a cure is found for these innocent creatures. I noticed that this condition worsened when I gave her carprofen., which I have now stopped
How is your dog today? My girl just got diagnosed with hip dysplasia and the Carprofen I feel is making her more wobbly in her hind legs. We are seeing the different vet on Wednesday for a 2nd opinion
Been watching your videos since my boy was a wee lad, he's now a senior and for the first time I have found him struggling to stand or walk at some points. He has stopped jumping up on to surfaces he used to leap at no problem, and drags his back legs (and gets tired more) on walks... Tonight I had to literally slide him downstairs on his bed so I could get him on the same floor as to door out to potty, not knowing what was wrong, in a panic... Thank you for your videos on how to help him, first place I went to for advice when I realized the signs were adding up to arthritis, hip dysplasia or some such. With these tips, I can better source what COULD be wrong and help ease his discomfort, while we wait for the appointment with the vet to do an exam.
Gods all bless you, so glad I subbed to you all those years ago now! My boy Bran (like the muffins and Game of Thrones character... should have thought that name through better) and I both thank you.
Great video! Thank you
My GSD is 14 and has arthritis on his right hip. This video was very informative.

Lewis is in a whole other category unto itself ~ there is no way you can't fall in love with this dog! What a doll! This video was very helpful in trying to understand and evaluate symptoms in our dogs. Do you have a chart showing accupressure points on dogs?
I'll get a chart up on my blog
I'll get a chart up on my blog
On UA-cam?
Thank you, doctor. That gives much better understanding about what the problem is. Subscribed!
Thanks!
Thank you Doc. My dog is having hind leg problem. It’s so sad seeing her slowly not able to walk. We took her to the Doctor and they did MRI on her.
What happened?
You sure help me a lot can't thank you enough you I love watching your video thank you so much
Thanks Lillian
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much! I hate seeing my baby girl in any discomfort.
You're welcome. I hope she's feeling better.
@@VeterinarySecrets From what I can tell, it's arthritis. I give her children's ibuprofen every couple of days and it seems to work. She's a Boston so I don't give a large milligram. Thank you again.
Thank you 🙏
I’d love to see how to handle the front legs- ats what my basenji has issues with n being treated.
If only Lewis would relax more! He is lovely.
I was thinking the same thing. Like he need a horse tranquilizer or something lmao
Thanks a lot!
You are welcome
God bless you, doctor! after watching this video I feel like better to work on my dog, I wish you were in Rhode Island

Thank you for this, Lewis looks just like my boy Blackjack, and he’s 11 now.. he’s been dragging his back leg, and limping a lot, it’s gotten progressively worse within the past couple weeks.. massage seems to be helping quite a bit! 💖
Another great video! So helpful for us to be able to know how to help our fur babies! Smiling over the coffee thing the headaches in the beginning are the worst! I've found a product called Choffy that gives you energy without the ups and downs of coffee and nope I don't work for them!😉 Thanks for your videos!
Thanks Megan
You are an amazing human. I can see the big beautiful heart you have thats full of pain…. animals are my weakness too xo
Thanks for walking through these examinations. my vet's exam left a lot to be desired - no physical exam, just xrays which showed no spine or hip problems. So still trying to figure out the cause of limping and odd holding up of rear if running, some rear paw drag after 40min walk, not fully weight-bearing on left hind leg.
Hi again- in most cases this would be an ACL (cruciate ligament) injury
Darn it. Ok, I suppose going back into the vet is warranted. He prescribed Onsior (robenacoxib) 1 pill/day for 3 days to see if it helped (hasn't really). I reduced her activity and already give her turmeric though now that I've seen your pain management video, it looks like I need to be combining turmeric with another herb (forgot the name) to be most effective. Thanks for providing all this helpful information. It's great to have you and your series as a resource and to be able to refer back to it easily.
OMG THANK GOD FOR YOU SIR. My dog was just diagnosed with spinal stenosis. The veterinarian put him on a steroid, muscle relaxer, pain med, and antacid. She said it would help with the healing. She said hopefully he doesn't need surgery. Thank You!!!
You are welcome
My 2 year old pup is dealing with this now. How long did this effect your dog and did you end up having him do the surgery?
Thank you so much.
You're welcome.
Thank you 😊
Thank you for sharing this video .How long time (duration of massage therapy ) for daily massage ?
I love my coffee as well, Dr. J. ...
Thank you for all you do in helping us 'pet parents'.~ Link's Mommy

@@VeterinarySecrets My Golden Retriever, Link, will be 11 years old in April. He currently has Hypothyroidism, his Heart has a small amount of fluid around it, his inhalation and exhalation (breathing) was quite forced. About 6 months ago this all began to show. He's currently taking Vetmedin, Theophylline, Lasix, and Soloxine. I give him Salmon Oil w/ Omega 3 and 6, Hemp Seed Oil, as well as Turmeric as an anti inflammatory, also Hawthorn and Dandelion. It's quite amazing how the Herbs really DO HELP. I give him Acupressure at night on his hip area, as well as the Massage and work on his Hip Mobility everyday, which I learned from your videos. He will sleep with a pillow between his hind legs. He's my 'fur' son and I'll do whatever he needs! He's My Boy! ... Anyhoo, Your dedication to animals is Above and Beyond. Again, Thank You, You're A Godsend! Have a blessed day, ~ B ... (aka Link's Mommy)
Thank you!

Would you please explain how to treat east test you showed on this video thank you and God Bless you
I'm literally in tears right now because I thought my dog has degenerative myelopathy, unfortunately at the moment I am so financially strapped that I no way I could take my dog to the vet but knowing that she is not dying from a degenerative disease with your freely given information that she does have something that is more than likely treatable is a huge relief
Welcome - hope some of it helps
How is your dog doing?
My dog has weakness in her back left leg to the point of flopping her left rear down and scooting on her rear to get up. She is also walking with a curved spine. She has had knee issues in that left leg for a long time. Not sure what this is-will be taking her to the vet.
Thank you thank you....
My dog is a crossbreed staffy and bull mastiff and he is starting to get arthritis, and it is only pain in the morning and at night when he has been lying down for a while hopefully dad takes him to the vet soon
Thank you for the informative videos, truly exceptional. My 11yr old dog floats his hind leg, visibly limps and has trouble with stairs (even one). Vet said it was arthritis of the spine, hips were good (xrayed). Gave us pain killers and told us to come back every 6mths for bloodwork. Does this diagnosis sound accurate as he is getting progressively worse? I am going to try some of your more natural remedies but am thinking it may be degenerative myelopathy.
Last night, My Jadah Crusada got off the couch and started limping...I'm so nervous to find out what is wrong with my baby, tomorrow I will take her in...I hope it is not too serious... I jus love her so much😞

I really love your videos. I've been watching Bondi vet too and I just think it helped out my dog a little even though we have booked our dog into a hydrotherapy swim for tomorrow. its her first time. I really scared of her when she's gona be in the water.
Thanks
ha ha, the coffee deprivation + angry metal music so fits. IDK, go with decaffeinated coffee?
what can I do to reverse it
How do i get a vet like you in UK lol

AESOME VID MAN
I have a 4 year old border springer and she is limping on her right back leg and when we go out for walks and when she comes back in as a rest and then she gets up out of her bed she is limping and she holding it up please can you tell me what you think it is she has been doing it for a couple of months now she is on some tablets I got from my vets they are lintbells yumove for the joints but they do not seem to be working
Thank you for all the info Doc. My 12 year old Aussi is kicking his right back leg while standing, I don't know what that could be, he was just diagnosed with CHF and takes lots of med. If you could explain what is going on I would greatly appreciate it.
Great video with clear explications, and nice patient dog btw, who got the idea of making a video :-). What hollisitic remedies are there for DM? I m putting all emphasis on good food (80% meat and bones) and activity, swimming in particular. Do you consider this important or wishful thinking?
Hi and Thanks - i have a video on it here: ua-cam.com/video/0lRSDXdUriw/v-deo.html
2nd many vets are finding N acetlycysteine is helping 100mg/10lbsdaily
My dog sapphira is 13. Easter night after dinner she came and sat by me and as I reached out to pet her she yelped & cried & began jumping around all worked up. Now the night before easter/easter morning... sapphira slept in my bed with me. My mattress sits on top of a box spring and which both sit on top of a metal frame with wheels. So it is a bit of a jump. She jumps up and down when we play, she was still playing fetch which I frequently make her lay down, stay, sit pretty, left shake right shake and then go get it... she was jumping in n out of my vehicle...
I took her to an emergency vet hospital and then since then a thrive affordable vet who said they support the emergency hospitals diagnosis which is arthritis.... and in her case if so it is incredibly severe extreme arthritis. She does hurt standing up she starts backing up or trying to run from the pain while yelping and crying out... she does everything in her power to not get up... she drags herself around with her front paws ="( she's not eating really ( im barely able to get her to eat all her pills in wet food thats it) and she will NOT DRINK WATER! The biggest thing I try to stress is that this all happened basically over night.... and her meds are not helping at all. Shes still in excruciating pain, which in turn is making her so incredibly depressed its so heartbreaking. A week ago she was up and down perfectly fine... now she just keeps her down won't move except to drag herself and I can't get her to engage with me or anything: treats, toys, her bone, her ball.... she just puts her head down like she is in trouble... she is a collie mix so playing and running around is like, her livelihood... this is so heartbreaking...
Thanks for the video. My 10 year old chihuahua has become growly at me within the past month particularly when I touch his right side. I notice he tends to bite his right hind leg. His walking is normal but I don't want to try to move his leg because I don't want to get bit. I can't get into to see the vet for another 3 weeks. Wonder if you had a video or can do a video on what you recommend for supplements.
great video! Thank you. Can you do a video on how to use an electro stimulator (tens) and all the do's and dont's for
a dog? That would really be helpful too.
Perhaps in the future
Thanks! That’s how my dog is walking😢 it would be helpful to see more examples of the dog walking and how they walk depending on what the issue is… I’m k no it sure yet what her problem is but she doesn’t seem in pain so I’m just researching here a little first
Thank you for this Dr! Would you say when testing the "knuckling" test anything under 5 seconds is ok of putting it back upright?
Thank you doctor. This year my dog was diagnosed with Cushings. And around the same time showed muscle atrophy in his back legs. He quickly lost ability to get up on his own. I have to pick his hind end up and be sure his feet are flat. It's very stressful for both he and I. Now he is refusing to eat about 90% of the time. It's heart breaking. He isn't showing signed of pain, but I'm not sure really what signs I should look for. If you haven't done a program on signs of pain, it would be a good one to do. Many thanks.
Hi Sue,
Is he on meds that suppress his appetite?
Lewis is doing better than my baby she's hoping on one back leg. She is in so mush pain. I'm working with an alternative doctor now. So much money. If this treatment doesn't work i'll try the surgery. Doctor what do you think is the best of the two treatment ?
Thanks doc,
Our 14 yr old bubba has continuing hip dysplasia and i try to help him to get down or up in a car by carrying him. We have him on powdered joint care and natural pain meds. He yelps sometimes and when i tried to pet him this morning tried to bite me out of a deep sleep. I barely touched his shoulder. He's able to walk, and still enjoys walking in the dog park in our complex. Could the areas that he doesn't want to be touched nerve damage, cancer?
Your advice for castor oil when he swolled a plastic bag, saved us from putting him down. We went to 2 vets, they wanted to operate, $$$$. Last vet was Tennessee college for vet care. Sad what vets are all about today $$$$ not animal care
Wow you did more in this video than my vet did with my dog and I paid her 100. It’s heartbreaking for me. My dog seems to look like he’s loosing his muscles or something in his back legs. He goes on walks ok but can’t seem to climb anymore like lift himself to my car window so he can stick his head out which is his favorite thing to do. The doc has him on prednisone and pain meds. I’m not sure what to do. He seems to lost his appetite . Any advice ? Thank you
Kindly speak on leishmaniasis in dogs
Hi ..what is the best to do if your dog has TVT...is there any way aside of chemotherapy and surgery.?i Those are expensive..is there any other way to decreasing TVT? Hope for your great reply..Thank you very much
I have a mini pincher and he’s suffering right now from disc issues on he’s back,,, when to the VET and they send me to a specialist, those guys told me that it will be around 4K to 6k for MRI and medication ...
Any remedies you can tell me right away DOC?
Hello, I am new!!!! I am a new pet mom since Jan. My dog is 8. I took her to the vet because she had started eating only half her food one day midday and night and she was shaking and panting all night. She could not rest well. She looked as if she was cold or something. She would even squint her eyes at times. The vet examined her and x-rayed her. She said something she may have a pinched nerve. She found basically she may have arthritis. And to keep a look out for some other stuff as she went through a heat cycle in Aug. She gave her something for the pain and so forth but what can I do to help her rest at night.
There is no link to your previous dog's degenerative myelopathy, my Golden was just diagnosed with it, and I am interested in learning some natural ways to keep him strong
My five year old beagle was diagnosed with a sports injury in his right rear leg after two vet visits due to coming in limping. After resting for weeks and taking anti-inflammatory drugs he seemed better. That is until he goes for walks for more than a few mins. He has has periods of tail drop since he was about 2 or 3 years old. Now he is five and has periods of walking like one hip is higher than other, especially after walks. Any recommendations? He is going to vet early next week and is on glucosamine and cartilage supplements. Any recommendations?
hi, i have a 10 year old 48 lb lab/pointer mix and she developed an acute limp. Shes very athletic and active up to that day went i noticed her limp. After 2 weeks on carprofen and short leash walks it didnt seem to be getting much better. On the 16th day she tried to chase a squirrel and has been limping worse ever since . She got x-rays 3 weeks after the initial limp showing no arthritis, nothing broken, all knee tendons seem just fine. She has some back pain and some spinal vertebrae fusing as shown in your video. her hips dont show dysplacia. the one hip that is the bad leg shows a little seperation within the socket which may be an indicator of a dislocation possibly? the day before the xrays she tried to get on the bed and lifting up from a full squat i heard a Pop ans she winced... shes has a hard time squatting to defecate and almost to the point of falling over. her muscles are already atrophying on that leg. the vet wants me to do an mri which is $1500 and he says hes 90% sure its a torn muscle. for some reason i feel its more than that. should i put a ehmer sling on her? should i just wait a bit longer? today she was pretty much only using her 3 legs to hop around... Im very worried because normally nothing would slow her down. Thank you so much for any insight!
Can you discuss a torn ACL in a 85 pound Samoyed husky...
Gee Lewis really loves you
Thank you for the video!
Suggestion: eternal dilemma: dry food or home cooked ( human) food for dogs, namely small breeds ( I have chihuahua and my pet was diagnosed with immune mediated polyarthritis) . Thank you in advance 🙏
I say home cooked. Also add in 95% curcumin at 100mg/10lbs twice daily
Thank you Dr. Jones
Welcome! Happy to help!
My GS is 13+ years old vet saw him yesterday. Said because he’s aging he has rear leg weakness plus his hind end is wobbly. What is best therapy for him? Vet did blood work w/electrolytes and urine analysis and suggested therapy. Vet did referral hopefully we get call soon?
Hi Dr Jones! Thanks so much for your video! My dog is starting to have some problems with her legs too. She's 12, and she's starting to put her legs behind than usual when she's standing, starting to scuff her paws on the floor, to letting her legs fall when someone's interacting close to her. Do you think it can be some of these diseases?
Anyway, I'm calling the veterinarian tomorrow for a more decisive diagnose, but I would like to have some ideas. It's hard to know if she's in pain. Thank you!
Hi- it can be a variety of one, with arthritis being most common
Thank you for this video. What about nerve twitching (fasciculation) in all 4 limbs and muscle atrophe along with going paralyzed in the back legs and then slowly going paralyzed in the front too?
My dog had this happen but made a seemingly full recovery with a round of Prednisone with no issues for 7 months with no medication, then it suddenly started again with the back legs and now moving to his front legs again. He has responsiveness but no strength or control left. Any advise or opinion would greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Do you have a video addressing why dogs may drag their front paws and how to assess their shoulder and neck area?
Please check this video: ua-cam.com/video/A3Tid78yNcs/v-deo.html
