    This is so informative thank you!!! My girl has 2 copies of IVDD w cddy, AND hemivertebrae w kyphosis. She has weird "episodes" daily, where she will pace across the room,plop down, then pace across again, back and forth tons of times- she trembles, her tongue sticks out (with mouth closed), her eyes widen & look far away, she drags her Hind end sometimes, involuntary bead jerks.. Her breathing I is very different. It's very scary, and we don't Even know what the cause is after taking her in to 3 vets! I feel so helpless, I'm so heartbroken for her :'(

    i find a common problem in the dogs i treat,particularly Frenchies , they are on laminate floors or hard surfaces were they cannot grip and hurt them selves when they slip ,i always tell clients to get rubber or carpet down on the floor so they have less chance of slipping.

      Give our Frenchie “Cortisol” (injection one off and now tabs )one a days for the next 5days.
      Then we have to go back to the vets to see if any improvement

    Good afternoon. My bulldog is walking and suddenly falls on its side with rigid paws with its eyes open and sometimes when it falls it pees. It lasts approximately 30 seconds but soon after it gets soft. I haven't been able to jump on the couch for 2 weeks. I took him to the vet and he did an X-ray on the spine. There are small atroses and a small beginning of disc herniation. The treatment started yesterday because if it doesn't get better in 15 days, we'll have to do a magnetic resonance.Sorry Can you tell me what it could be?

    If they already had surgery how high is the chance of them slipping another disc?

    • @teddy-wu1nw
      @teddy-wu1nw 3 роки тому +1

      That’s a really good question. I had this surgery on my dog about 2 months ago. Although the specific disk was “fixed” (pardon me, I do not know the medical terminology), another disk slipped. My dog has just passed and he has just barely made it past his 4th birthday. Be aware that IVDD is a degenerative disease so it will happen again if it has taken effect once. It’s only a matter of time.
      Take it another way, even if you take all of the precautions in the world, there’s no guarantee the vet professionals will do the same when your dog is taken behind closed doors.

      @@teddy-wu1nwSorry for your loss. Was your dog neglected at the vets? Having worked in the veterinary field I can tell you that sometimes we have up to 5 Frenchies at once with disc disease and post surgery. Unfortunately, the problem is deep in their genetic make up.

    my dog started having symptoms this week (Monday), disoriented, walking non-stop, on Wednesday she was already leaning her head against the wall and screaming, she was sedated and intubated early this morning (Friday), everything happened very quickly... the doctors didn't She can undergo MRI because she has heart problems and cannot be anesthetized. It is not known exactly what is causing this, corticosteroids were started 7 hours ago. She is a 6 year old American Bully, I'm scared for her, I'm desperate.

    My 15 week french bulldog started displaying some worrying symptoms. After a walk he comes home (very energetic running around jumping all the time) suddenly shaking/tremors, looks confused, disoriented, he hold his head down a bit, loses control of his urination. Never had this issue before. Lasts about 15 minutes or so and then he goes to sleep like he's really tired. Took him to the vets and they said he could just be over tired/stimulated or have a virus. He's been on antibiotics but it's still happening after walks. I'm so concerned. I don't know if this could be the issue. But it's only after walks he has it. Do these symptoms come and go? Can they be playing jumping no issues then they get IVDD symptoms then go back to totally normal?

    • @chrismichelle8548
      @chrismichelle8548 Рік тому

      It's like he's totally healthy and fine but then has this weird episode after walking but then after a sleep he's completely find no issues. I don't know if it's epilepsy or IVDD. Hes out of control running around so he could have a slipped disc but after his episode he's completely fine like nothing happened.

      my frenchie is almost 6 months and about a month ago I noticed she did this when someone knocked at the door all the dogs started barking and running to the door including her, after all the commotion she kinda stopped in her tracks and did a little wobble and fell to the floor and just peed, while she laid there, I've noticed she does this when she gets to excited, not peeing all the time, I watch her closely and try not to let her get to to overworked, what have you done for your puppy?

    • @chrismichelle8548
      @chrismichelle8548 Рік тому

      @@roxanmarcelin3702 The vet believes he suffers from an auto immune disease causing his brain to be inflamed. He's on medication for it and seems to be better. Maybe take your puppy to a vet, issue is they will often want an MRI and lumbar puncture which costs a lot of money unless your already on a good insurance. My best advice is get on a good insurance now for her and then after 14 days take her to a vet for an opinion.

    My 11'year old Frenchie died yesterday from a Cluster Grand Mai Seizure, she had been on Phenomav and Levetiracetam for 3 months, It stopped working and started creating new seizures, my question is would have I been better off treating her with quality CBD oil only. I feel these medications are not the answer .

    • @SEVNeurology
      @SEVNeurology  Рік тому +1

      CBD likely would not have worked better. Studies that show efficacy and/or safety are currently lacking.
      I would wonder what the cause of seizures was. Did you have an MRI performed? Many times older French bulldogs with seizures have underlying causes that are progressive, such as a brain tumor. This could explain why things got worse despite medications.

    The french bulldog is a torture breed and must suffer from the bred restrictions all his life. He cannot lead a normal life. As a rule, the owner has to cope with high veterinary costs. Please do not buy a pug. Do not support the breeding of such sick dogs.

      @@wesleymichael9636 People are not bred, thank God. The comparisons you draw are perverse. The torturous breeding of dogs is created by humans because they get off on crippled dogs or are happy to have a dog that you can't take for a walk because it is so sick. Ask the dogs if they like it! Of course you should help dogs when they are there. But you must not breed extra sick dogs.
