Had my In2 for 2 weeks now, it’s well worth the money and so easy to use, the pads are ok and there are plenty of them. It’s great for the piano black trim both inside and out.. the only thing that’s missing is an extension bar to get behind the door handles
If I hadn’t got the the Autobrite Direct MP9 last Autumn, I might have considered this. The MP9 is an SPTA type but I’ve been pleased with it. It does the job well and although my other machines are Rupes, I couldn’t justify the extra cost for the premium offering. One thing the In2D is missing are the rotary extension tubes. I find them very useful.
Really good to hear I was watching this review because I want to get the autobrite mp9 and figured they’d be similar but I’m not a fan of in2detailing had a bad and rude experience from them thanks for this
I bought the DAS 6 one, which looks to have a lot of similarities to this, and it's brilliant. I didn't even know I needed it but the shop I bought it from suggested I might need it as well as the das 6 pro, and I'm glad I got both as this is good for all the small areas, and touch ups.
Just recently got the cheaper Chinese version and to be honest it does a decent job for me and it was £95.12 delivered Batteries and charging unit look exactly the same Unit seems a bit heavy but other than that seems a decent machine
I just couldn't justify the price for either the flex or rupes so this was right up my street. For how often I machine cars probably about 3 to 4 a year I think it will be a reliable good piece of kit. I've used it once so far trying to take bumper rash off a Pal's car, and in all honesty no complaints from me it's a decent piece of kit.
I use a air sander/polisher so this maybe something I might buy as I don’t polish a lot , only just got into detailing scene and I already spent probably £2k on products and accessories and tools , I can’t stop buying stuff on offer or stuff recommend in videos but this is something I want
I have the spta and it’s brilliant for the money. I don’t have a detailing business I just use what tools I have on my own car or my friends car so I cannot justify the $500 for the flex if I’m only going to use it a couple times a year the SPTA or The In2 detailing machines are just fine
Great review and price point on this tool Jon! Not quite ready to pull the trigger on this one, but will keep a close eye on how this sector of the market and products develop 👍🏼
thanks for your great videos.. i am going to get the mp9 so i can use the meguiars ultimate compound and polish to do my headlamp eye brows mirrors and skirts .. thanks so much
Those batteries look exactly like the stick style batteries that are in all the smaller power tools so I suspect it would be very easy to pick up a few more
Just a thought John, I've seen on other channels that changing the factory grease on the gearing to a more premium grease helps with the heat in the neck and the vibration. Not sure if opening it and changing the grease would void the warranty. Might be something that Imran could sort at the factory. Also the charger and batteries look very similar to SPTA ones, so is this based on the SPTA polisher meaning there may be a better battery option.
Great little tool for the money it’s unbeatable, my one gripe is the trigger lock, I’m a left hooker so my thumb is on the opposite side to the lock button, could of done with a button on both sides of the tool. Apart from that does a great job at a decent price 👍🏻
Hi John , Very interesting about the in2detailing nano. I purchased the Carbon Collective from Clean and Shiny last week. A bit disappointed with it. Opened the box , looked like an ex demo, scratches on the batteries , marks on the blue rubber parts . Not clean and shiny's fault at all, as they are sent to them direct in a sealed box , and resold. I informed them last week, and tried sending them pics, but for some reason I couldn't send them. So I ordered some Koch Chemie products 9.1 heavy cut, and one step and polish , Koch pads etc , wheel woolies , and some rupes heavy wool cut pads. So I decided to drive to clean and shiny today to pick them up, and Tina could not have been more helpful. I pointed out about the marks, also battery life is poor, on fully charged batteries , 10 mins max on full charge. Also the pads the came with it, particularly the wool, when extremely light pressure is used, the machine virtually stops or drags. I put this down to the nap of the wool being to long , and poor quality pads. Tina showed the boss, and he said he will no longer stock the Carbon Collective, and was shocked by the marks etc. They offered me a refund, but I said I will keep it for now, to use as a backup, and buy some quality pads for it, See how it goes, as I'm detailing an Audi A4 at the moment. They refunded me 10 % which was nice , as a gesture anyway. Also I will be reporting to them in a couple of days , on more details on the tool. Because they would like a report to send to Carbon Collective. Now it may just be a one off that I received. Another annoying thing about it, it has 7 speeds , which you adjust by a digital button. However , no matter what number you are on , and switch the machine off , and then back on , it sets at speed 1. So if you are on speed 7 beforehand , you have press several times to get it back back there. I only bought , due to price point , and a few good reviews , and didn't really fancy forking out for the Rupes Nano or the Flex. But I think I may have to. Fabulous communication with Clean and Shiny though . I've been purchasing roughly 4 years from them. Anyway, I look forward to using your recommended Koch Chemie products , on a heavily swirled a Audi tomorrow ! Keep up the great informative videos John , all the the best , Adam at AJS Detail , give me a like on FB !
Also the batteries do not have a charging station , only a charge lead which just plugs into the side of the battery....and they look exactly the same as the In2detailing one.
Great video John. I have a Flex PXE-80 myself and I believe that it's certainly worth the extra money over the cheaper alternatives. I think the better charger, more vibration dampening and my favourite the quick release to change your polishing heads is an absolute game changer for me. These cheaper units definitely have their place though and seem decent for the money. Just a quick one, Autoglanz have just released 2 new products. A water spot remover and panel wipe, i'd be really interested to see what you think of the water spot remover as I'm after a good one!
Hi John thanks for the review. Using letters instead of numbers on the control…..and in black not white!! It’s inexplicable design flaws like this in products that are so annoying. What were they thinking? I note the badging is in white text.
I've used the Flex one and Rupes iBrid when I worked as a detailer, and I own the long neck iBrid. I'm quite intrigued by this one, I must say. And the price is very good too. But I don't see me buying one anytime soon. I have enough machines for my needs now. I polish maybe 3 cars in a year, including my own :D
Hi all. I was looking for smaller/nano polisher and found DAS-6 Nano Cordless Mini Polisher. Anyone have experience with that one? I guess extension bar can be the most important point to choose that one. Working times looks both about 30min.
Hmmm, odd one this. It does get the job done as intended and there is certainly nothing comparable on the market for less than double the price. But there are things about it that bug the hell out of me. The case is nice but there is too much stuff in it, main gripe is that you cannot store the polisher in the case with a backing plate attached, so get used to the fiddly assembly process, and when you do removes it, there is nowhere to put it! Same with the spanners, they are fairly bespoke and if you have to assemble/disassemble every time you use the machine, they are going to get used a lot, they are also going to get lost very easily without anywhere specific to keep them. Probably best not to keep the pads in the case either, if you are taking the machine out to a job you can put a few in there, but as supplied there is not enough room for them all so the foam gets deformed when they are squished in. Price has gone up by £5 now they are back in stock but you do now get an extension bar, so fair enough. Just gone to mount the charger on the wall with my others and there is a super handy marking on the back that tells you the distance between centres of the mounting holes, it would be even better if the mounting holes were of any use, they look like the normal keyhole cut outs but that’s all they are, there is nowhere for the screw head to go, crazy. I do like this machine, and I know it is built to a price, but there are some niggles that would not have taken much to solve.
the lack of extension bar is annoying, the little SPTA comes with the extension bar and its cheaper than this and i imagine the same quality really. I want something to use on my motorbikes, not sure if i should buy this or one of the SPTA or even one of the mini 3" DA machines?

Has SPTA released a new edition recently? The one on their site doesn't come with trigger lock. Maxshine as mentioned in another comment has an identical to this in2detail one.
