    The Rupes BigFoot LHR15 Mark II is a dual action random orbital polisher. It has an ergonomic design and is 30% more efficient than the model it replaces thanks to its 500W motor. It has a 15 mm orbit which allows you to get more correction done. It has a 5 inch (125 mm) backing plate. The perfect balance of this tool makes polishing comfortable and vibration free. It’s one of the world’s most popular polishers among professionals.
    The Rupes BigFoot LHR75E Mini is a random orbital polisher for difficult shapes and for spot repair operations. It has a 12 mm orbit and is ergonomically designed. It has a 3 inch (75 mm) backing pad and has a powerful 400W motor. Perfect for A and B pillars, mirrors, door edges, bumpers, and other hard to reach areas.
    The Rupes BigFoot Nano iBrid is a super compact and lightweight cordless polisher. It comes with a choice of either 1 inch or 2 inch backing plates and a choice of parts giving rotary or dual action modes. It comes with Ion-Lithium batteries and many different accessories and polishing pads to get the job done. Perfect for emblems, headlights, tail lights, A and B pillars, bumpers, and other hard to reach areas.
    The Rupes system consists of their polishers, polishing pads and polishing compounds. We will present the Rupes foam polishing pads, the Rupes microfiber polishing pads, the Rupes polishing compounds (Zephir Gloss coarse compound, Quarz Gloss medium compound, Keramik Gloss fine polish, and Diamond ultra fine finishing polish). We will also have a look at the Rupes swirl finder pen light.

    Not only is your presentation crisp, and thorough, your personality is among the most gregarious on all of UA-cam.
    I also appreciate your use of their pads and compounds. I use them often and really enjoy them. A lot of guys don't have the patience to dial the system in. They end up throwing a washer in it, grab some pads/polishes du jour, and start grinding away - which is fine - just not for me.

      Yes you can use what ever pad/compound you wish. The Rupes pads and compounds are great especially when used together as a system. It's also a question of personal taste. If you're used to your 3M products and are satisfied, no need to change.

      I have both the Flex 3401 and Rupes and love and use both. The Flex is a great machine and thanks to its direct drive motor the pad never stalls. I haven't had issues with the Rupes neither, you just have to learn how to polish with it I found. Apply about the same pressure as the weight of the machine, no more. Plus the Rupes allows me to do quicker paint correction thanks to its much taller throw. Both excellent machines, really high end. Both stay in my arsenal.
      If you like forced rotation machines, Rupes have their new Mille which looks promising.

    Hi Pan, I have been using a TORQ10FX from Chem Guys for years, however, thinking about upgrading as one day my DA just stopped working after 2-3 years of use, not sure with normal use with a Rupes, their lifecycle? So my question is, and I cannot find this answer on Rupes website, is the standard 5" backing plate that comes with the Rupes LHR15 MARK III ES, changeable to a larger or smaller backing plate, just like on my TORQ10FX, or do you need to purchase a smaller Rupes DA? Thank you.

      I should have been more specific, I'm referring to the ibrid nano. I don't polish my car often like I said, but I did just get a new Civic Type R that has TONS of hard angles and small areas that my porter cable just can't reach. It's also black, so I'll probably polish it more than my I did on my other cars. I just ordered the long neck nano kit. I can't wait! Really without the nano, the hood, doors, and roof were the only areas on the car I could polish. The 5 inch pad on the porter cable just isn't meant for those small areas.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  6 років тому +1

      Oh you'll loooooove the iBrid Nano for the intricate and hard to reach areas!! And yup, perfect for the Type R (nice car by the way!!).

      @johnd9357 6 років тому

      Thanks! And that's what I wanted to hear. I thought it would be perfect for this car so I'm glad you agree. It's an expensive tool for someone who isn't a professional detailer, but if it gives me at least a few years of service I feel like it's money well spent. Especially because the Type R is almost entirely intricate and hard to reach areas. Haha

    Hello Pan! I’m a mobile detailer, and I’m looking too invest into the Nano Ibrid! I haven’t seen any videos regarding the Ibrid, using it too sand down headlights and polish them? Right now, I’m about the hour mark wet sanding by hand and polishing out headlights with my 5.5in harbor freight polisher. What’s your opinions on using the Ibrid too restore headlights with? Do they make, small sand paper pads for the Ibrid? I’m wetsanding by hand and I’ve done several sets in the past few days and I’m sore as heck. Would you recommend this set up by Rupes a viable option for headlights? I just want a kit, I can haul around and not use my clients electricity. The Ibrid is all battery, which I like. But just don’t, I’ve been trying too find some answers but haven’t found any yet.

      Hi! It's hard to tell how long the pads last because nobody polishes the same way, with the same products, etc. If you take good care of them and clean them after each use, they could last for years if you only detail as a hobby. Yes you can put any brand of pads that you like. As long as you select the appropriate pad size for the backing plate (5 inches for the LHR15, 3 inches for the Mini et 1 or 2 inches for the iBrid).
      Thanks for your comment!

      You don't polish ceramic coatings as that would damage them (mechanical abrasion removes coatings). The only exception is CarPro Essence+ which is meant to correct VERY FINE light swirls and scratches (not the regular Essence).

    Pan the man! Do you think I could get away with just using a Nano iBrid and the 15 Markll? Mainly detailing sedan and small SUV's. I have the 15 and love it! I bought the LHR75 Pneumatic but I didn't realize how much more compressor I need to appreciate that. Im pretty sure using it killed my 4.5 gal twin tank CAT compressor. I really like the iBrid but at that price I can only go with one right now. So would you do the iBrid over the 75E for now?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  6 років тому

      Hi Tamith! It depends if you have a lot of small, intricate, hard to reach areas to detail. If yes, than of course the iBrid Nano is the way to go. The LHR15 is already a versatile tool and gets 80% of the job done. The last 20% is where the Mini or the iBrid are needed.

    Hi Pan. How does the Flex PXE 80 cordless mini polisher compare to the Rupes Nano in terms of build quality and performance. Thanks

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 роки тому

      In terms of build quality, I place both Rupes and Flex on the same level in general, as they are the two top polisher brands in my opinion. I prefer the ergonomics of the iBrid Nano as it's smaller overall (thinner) and comes with a lot more accessories. And I like they have the long neck version which is the one I have. So if I could only keep one, it would probably be the Rupes.

    What are your thoughts on the Nano system and how is it holding up after logging some hours with it? Is it more of a light duty polisher, or is it powerful and durable enough to be capable of serious defect removal and paint correction in small areas, like door jambs? How does it handle and perform when using the 2" pads? I thought the plastic back plates were very off putting, and the motor sounded kind of tinny and "electric toothbrushy," especially given the price. But it is super detailer nerd cool, would love to have one just to play with it on emblems and clean seats and stuff if nothing else.. 🤓

    Greetings from Greece and thank you for the very informative videos! One question: if someone decides to wax his car

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  6 років тому +1

      Yasou Dimitri! I'm half Greek, living in Canada. My dad is originally from Messolonghi. It is always important to prepare the paint correctly before adding any form of protection (wax, sealant or nano coating). Of course you could apply wax on top of a contaminated paint, but that would be like adding moisturizing cream on top of dirty oily skin. You're preventing the product from bonding correctly.
      So ideally, you decontaminate manually with a claybar and lubricant, and chemically with an Iron remover and Tar remover if needed. Then, use an isopropyl alcohol mix (like CarPro Eraser or Gyeon Prep) to remove any left over contamination or polishing oils and you'll maximize the performance of your wax.
      And yes if you wax without claying, you could potentially pick up particles embedded in the paint and mar and scratch your paint.

    • @PanTheOrganizer

      For water spots, you can use acid based cleaners like Meguiar's Wheel Brightener (yes it's safe even if it falls on your paint, just don't spray it on glass). You spray on, rub on the surface, rinse off immediately. Your metallic trim will sparkle. You can also use dedicated water spot removers like CarPro Spotless or Gyeon Water Spot (chemically breaks down mineral deposits).

    I was just wondering what your thoughts are on the Rupes Mark 3 LHR 21 is? I’ve never seen a video of yours that reviews or talks much about the Mark 1, 2, or 3 LHR 21. If you haven’t reviewed any of the LHR 21 would you please? I want to hear your opinion on it before I possibly purchase it. Also do you suggest t the “washer mod” for the 21 or both the 15 and 21?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  4 роки тому +1

      Only difference between 15 and 21 is the throw. 21 has a longer throw but you would only really use that on a large flat surface like a big flat hood. The 15 is more versatile. I don’t have the need for 21mm throw.
      I wouldn’t recommend the washer mod. After speaking to reps at Rupes, it’s clear to me that the engineers at Rupes engineered it that way for a reason.
      If you don’t want your pad to stall, get a Rupes Mille or Flex 3401 forced rotation polisher.

When i let it go by itself it starts to "jump", does not want to go as smooth as in your video. Even when I'm holding it at the top, It dont want to go smoothly. What am I doing wrong? I'm using the green pad with the green compound.
    BTW you motivated me to get LHR15 MK II and also do a ceramic treatment to my car. Your videos are awesome :D

      Thanks for your comment!
      It's hard for me to guide you as I don't have your machine in hand, nor do I see your polishing technique.
      What speed are you using the machine at? You should be at 4 max.

      I solved it, it was only me who had not properly installed the pad. Now it's moving around smootly :)

      That's great to hear, as this is a high end machine. Enjoy it!! :)

    I ask you the question because I read that 21mm does the job faster but 15mm is for one to start to have experience. Also read that the 21mm machine can attach a 5 "backing plate and make it like 15mm orbit machine. I do not know if that's true. I would like to know your opinion.

      Yes the 15mm is more versatile. Some do attach a 5 inch plate to a 21mm, but I wouldn’t do that...

    Pan, what do you think about the combo of LHR12E Duetto and the LHR75E? Some guy is selling for a decent price.

      Very good

      @@PanTheOrganizer thank you for your timely reply Pan! However I think I would prefer the LHR15 more though because of the ergonomics and the slightly bigger throw. Have you ever used the LHR12E yourself? Which one is better? Obviously you have the LHR15, so maybe that says something? :)

    Hello Pan, after 5 years of using the polisher, do you find yourself more often reaching for a long stroke DA like the LHR15 or a forced rotation polisher like the Flex 3401 or Rupes Mille? Have you ever done a compare and contrast between long stroke and forced rotation?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Рік тому +1

      I bought the updated Rupes LHR15 MKIII and yes I find myself using DA long stroke polishers more often compared to forced rotation.
      If you don't want any pad stalling, for sure the forced rotation is the best. But if operated correctly, a DA long stroke is my favourite.

      @Pan The Organizer Pan, thank you so much for the quick reply, I appreciate it. My issue is, I have been using my Flex for almost a decade and it has done a great job but I am toying with the idea of getting a Rupes LHR15 or 21 Mark III. I need to choose soon because all my pads are close to the end of their life. With Spring coming and the busy season getting started in a few weeks, I either need to order a few dozen Lake Country Hybrid Force pads for the Flex or suck up the high cost and buy the Rupes and related pads. The Rupes is very tempting.

      One thing is for sure, you can't go wrong regardless of your pick. Rupes and Flex are the top tier of machine polishers.

    Hey pan greetings and happy holidays, we are already in this Christmas season and I want to 🎁 to myself a DA rupes polisher, really I am in weekend warrior category and I want to know which rupes polisher should I buy if a 15 or a 21mm orbit? according to your experience?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  5 років тому +1

      The 15mm is more versatile, that's the one I would get. If you're only using your polisher once in a while, you can also look into the Rupes Duetto.

      Not sure I understand your question, but at the moment, these 3 Rupes polishers are my go-to polishers for all my jobs. I also own a Flex 3401 dual action direct drive polisher. All high end. :)
