I never had the idea to make a foto of my first Nano iBrid. Now over the years i can‘t believe that i never worked with that tool. The hard truth for all guys working with an iBrid is that you need minimum three of them. In this way you don‘t need to do handicrafts between your steps. You have a shortneck, you have a longneck and you have a rotation module. THIS is floating workflow. This tool will be everytime in your hand reach. I‘d never miss it!
It would really depend on how often you change movements. For many technicians in the automotive world they stay with one movement - rotary, with the 40mm backing pad. This is the most precise and effective tool for edgework. If you don't change movements very often, having multiple tools preconfigured with the different eccentric movements isn't necessary.
TOTALLY HELPFUL! I was just about to call you guys asking why the blue 3mm isn't spinning and bogging down way too much even with no pressure on the head of the tool.

It does, but the amount it can is limited bc of the small orbit. Less orbital movement means less centripetal force, and that means less “power” behind the rotation. Rotation potential increases much more as the orbit size increases.

Hi Dylan, I can suggest viewers to try the rotary with a yellow wool pad, my opinion is that it is the best combination and no one should be worried that the paint will burn and no holograms remain. Best of luck to everyone!👍
That is one of our favorite combinations too. Very wide range of performance, but there are still situations where the foams are a better option. Ultimately, whatever gets you the results for your specific application is best.

I just used mine for the 1st time last night. Bought the box kit long neck and another long neck soft case kit. Worked awsome, only thing I noticed was the unit got a little hot, now I know why oops. I used the Rotary with both backing plates. Corrected great, I just cooled the unit by spraying it with compressed ait every pass along with the pad. I used a eurofiber pad with 3d one fluid.
I'd love to see a video showing a whole car and showing different areas where you'd use a 15/75E/nano. Even on a basic Honda Accord nowadays you have concave panels, sharp edges, bumpers with tons of style lines, etc and it's really confusing where you need to switch between tools or where you can get away with a larger pad at an angle or higher speed or whatever (to save money not buying a whole nano setup)
Great suggestion! In absence of the video the best advice is "if the pad can fit and be flat to the panel, it is effective. If it can't you need a smaller tool/pad combo" Certainly there are more advanced techniques where you can tip in a little (random orbital tools are not ideally suited for this, especially larger orbits) but the entire reason for the existence of tools like the LHR75E and the iBrid Nano are to allow users to work without needing to master complicated techniques to get results.
Thanks for posting your question. Other than the neck length the tools and all their functions are identical. In development we tested both versions in the field and received feedback that was positive on both for different industries so we decided to make both versions. The long is more popular in detailing because the extended reach it provides. In industrial, bodyshop, and other specialty applications the short is preferred because it is easier to control in one handed operation.
TY at the beginning I felt frustrated bc I did not know how to use it. But. Ow is my ToGo polisher. When are the big polishers coming in “Ibrid way”. I’m about to get a Milwaukee Cordless polisher but I’m afraid you guys come with something like that.

The short neck has its place in situations where the operator will work primarily with the tool only in one hand or sometimes very compact interior spaces where the additional length of the long neck makes it cumbersome. Overall though, the long neck is the more popular choice if you're not sure which one to go with.
Training is extremely limited everywhere at the moment due to covid. With so many restrictions on group gatherings it’s hard for distributors to host them, for people to travel for them, etc. Hopefully things will improve and we can start to roll back into some training events soon.
I just got my Nano a couple of weeks ago. Love it! I have a question on the blue pads and the coarse compound. I usually set it up as a rotary, with the smallest blue pad, and the blue compound. speed set to the slowest setting. I prime the pad as recommended but the pad seems to harden up and mildly disintegrate after10 or fifteen minutes of use. I watch my pressure on the pad. I bought my first buffer, a Sioux, cast aluminum and I swear it weighed 20 pounds at Wyo Tech in Laramie about 40 years ago. I have been painting and buffing ever since. Learning and making mistakes along the way.
It would be really unusual for a pad to "harden up" during use because the frictional heat actually softens the foam (by design). It would probably be best to contact us directly to discuss the issue in more detail. You can find our contact information linked in the video description.
Just purchased the Nano to add to compliment my LHR75. Just wondering if there are any adaptors to use with nano so can polish inbetween my alloy wheel spokes?
The only additional attachment we make for the nano is the 70mm rotary extension bar. Without seeing the wheels and the specific areas you need to address it is hard for us to know if that would solve your issue, but hopefully it does.
Is there information available about why the machine stops while being used, the green light flashes and starts back up. More specifically in rotary mode. Assuming with the red light it is a low battery condition. Is the green because of increased amp load detection and the machine cutting out as an indicator?
Green flashing on the machine during use would be overload protection. Reduce pressure on the tool while using it (as indicated in the video) and make sure that the spindle lock isn't accidentally pressed down while running. If it continues to be an issue get in touch with us and we can help sort a solution.
I'm about to take the plunge and order the MK3 LHR15, Bigfoot Mini and the iBrid. The problem I have is I'm hearing bad stories about the ibrid's reliability. The last thing I need is £450 tool failing on me during a job. The 1 year warranty isn't encouraging either

In our experience the vast majority of nano issues can be traced back to heavy handed useage like excessively heavy pressure, running at full speed all the time, or simply doing something like hitting the spindle lock button while the tool is running. Users need to keep in mind that the Nano is a specialized precision tool and use it accordingly. There are nano tools in use in industrial environments where they see use for 8+ hours a day daily and with proper training and application they are very reliable.

Can you make a sanding backing plate about the size of a #2 pencil eraser? I would like 2500 and/or 3000 grit sanding pads to prep a paint touch up area and to smooth out paint/clearcoat after a touch-up. The sanding pads provided in the iBrid nano kit are too big for this purpose. Maybe you have another solution? In the interim I am planning to wrap 3000 grit sandpaper around - wait for it - a #2 pencil eraser and wet sand.

After the spot repair sanding is completed, we do offer polishing solutions for those repairs. Has anyone lazered a stick on rubberised cover for the head and shaft to stop any potential marks from contact with the metal? Or has anyone stripped and flexi dipped the metal outside? Wasn’t sure if the metal is used as a heat sink. Was thinking of drawing a design in cad and then cutting out some 1 or 2 mm rubber.
We have seen a few solutions users have come up with, the simplest being a strip of tape if you have any concerns about impact. However, if you are working in compact spaces and impact to adjacent surfaces is a concern you may want to consider a different approach. The metal is not as much concern as the side of the backing pad would be and that is far more likely.
i currently use, what the industry uses for decates now, a eccentrik pneumatic polisher , witch have 1,2,3 inch pads and plates capability and themendus power but safe because has eccentrik function. witch benefits i will have investing on the Nano on buisness? my kind regards, keep up your great videos
Pneumatic tools have tremendous benefits, especially in a very busy shop, because of their low level of maintenance and high amounts of power. The Nano is unique in that it offers you the capability to convert the same tool to work in rotary mode, 3mm orbital, or 12mm orbital. It could be a helpful for your shop, it could not. Without knowing exactly what your work is and what applications you have it is hard to say for sure you would see a big benefit from the nano, but it is a valuable addition to any collection if you have the need for it.
I'd love to have that tool! But why aren't you making a mini version of LH19 E rotary? I have the LH19 E, it's very good with 5 and 6 inch pads but I'm running it at speed 6 on smaller pads and 1700 rpm is not enough for those 3 inch pads.

About the mini rotary, I think top speed 2700 - 3000 would be enough. Because if i need more correction with 3 inch pads I use my old Makita around speed 5 and its 2800 rpms or so. Sure! Simply put - it comes down to edge velocity. The bigger the pad gets the faster the outside edge is traveling, and thus the more aggressive it is. The inverse is true, so as a pad gets smaller the outside edge of the pad travels at a lower velocity and thus carries less risk. This is true of any tool movement where the rotation is driven (rotary or gear driven orbital polisher). When you get into random orbital movements the rule goes the other way. The smaller the pad the more aggressive it is, the larger it is the less aggressive it is (all other factors such as tool speed and stroke length being equal)
I think the nano is due for an update. Is it six or seven years old already? Given that you've already updated the 15, 21, and HLR75, im going to assume the nano is next, and we'll see it at SEMA this year. 😉
ive just got the nano, and the 50% or less compression of the foam pad rule, does that count for the yellow, gray, white and so on, or does it count for all of them?
Thanks for watching! Yes - using the vinyl plate, 3mm attachment, and adhesive sanding discs that come in the kit to knock down touchup paint is doable. Just make sure that the paint is fully cured and the prep was done correctly to avoid the abrasive peeling off that touchup blob.
Long in most cases. The additional length allows you to reach into areas on some motorcycles that would be hard to reach with the shirt neck or other tools.
I just unbox mine a few hours ago,can you tell me if its safe to have the batery into the machine if i dont use it for a few days or is it better to keep it off on that situation?
Congratulations on purchasing an iBrid Nano. If you're going to store the tool for a few days you do not have to worry about removing the battery. Just make sure the speed control dial is set to the OFF position to avoid accidental activation. If you plan to store for longer than that (weeks or a month) it is probably a good idea to remove the battery and store it with the battery cap that came in your kit.
Still at trying to remove the head and after roughly a hour I’ve come to the realization that the stop on top is not working and the unit is defective unfortunately..

I just got this and I thought something was wrong with it, Not sure what is going on, but why do I have to hold the trigger down so hard to keep it going, and it still will stop. Only worked with the Rotary portion. Is mine defective?

My problem with this polisher is, at some speed dial positions (for example 2) speed is surging up and down, not stay stable. Don’t know why. Anyone experiencing this? Regards.
It's a good tool, but the batteries are crap. I had one of the two out of my kit die 3 weeks past the 1 year old date. The disappointing part, was I never received a return call or email when I tried to reach out for assistance. I've never had a battery crash on any cordless tool like that.

I'm about to take the plunge and order the MK3 LHR15, Bigfoot Mini and the iBrid.
The problem I have is I'm hearing bad stories about the ibrid's reliability. The last thing I need is £450 tool failing on me during a job. The 1 year warranty isn't encouraging either

In our experience the vast majority of nano issues can be traced back to heavy handed useage like excessively heavy pressure, running at full speed all the time, or simply doing something like hitting the spindle lock button while the tool is running. Users need to keep in mind that the Nano is a specialized precision tool and use it accordingly. There are nano tools in use in industrial environments where they see use for 8+ hours a day daily and with proper training and application they are very reliable.

Can you make a sanding backing plate about the size of a #2 pencil eraser? I would like 2500 and/or 3000 grit sanding pads to prep a paint touch up area and to smooth out paint/clearcoat after a touch-up. The sanding pads provided in the iBrid nano kit are too big for this purpose.
Maybe you have another solution?
In the interim I am planning to wrap 3000 grit sandpaper around - wait for it - a #2 pencil eraser and wet sand.

After the spot repair sanding is completed, we do offer polishing solutions for those repairs. Has anyone lazered a stick on rubberised cover for the head and shaft to stop any potential marks from contact with the metal? Or has anyone stripped and flexi dipped the metal outside? Wasn’t sure if the metal is used as a heat sink. Was thinking of drawing a design in cad and then cutting out some 1 or 2 mm rubber.
We have seen a few solutions users have come up with, the simplest being a strip of tape if you have any concerns about impact. However, if you are working in compact spaces and impact to adjacent surfaces is a concern you may want to consider a different approach. The metal is not as much concern as the side of the backing pad would be and that is far more likely.
i currently use, what the industry uses for decates now, a eccentrik pneumatic polisher , witch have 1,2,3 inch pads and plates capability and themendus power but safe because has eccentrik function. witch benefits i will have investing on the Nano on buisness?

Pneumatic tools have tremendous benefits, especially in a very busy shop, because of their low level of maintenance and high amounts of power. The Nano is unique in that it offers you the capability to convert the same tool to work in rotary mode, 3mm orbital, or 12mm orbital. It could be a helpful for your shop, it could not. Without knowing exactly what your work is and what applications you have it is hard to say for sure you would see a big benefit from the nano, but it is a valuable addition to any collection if you have the need for it.

I'd love to have that tool! But why aren't you making a mini version of LH19 E rotary? I have the LH19 E, it's very good with 5 and 6 inch pads but I'm running it at speed 6 on smaller pads and 1700 rpm is not enough for those 3 inch pads.

About the mini rotary, I think top speed 2700 - 3000 would be enough. Because if i need more correction with 3 inch pads I use my old Makita around speed 5 and its 2800 rpms or so. Also to note that I prefer low speed rotary like Jason Rose does.
What about cutting and polishing speed recommendations in orbital?
I've never owned a machine polisher before. Would this be good for a beginner? Like is it practical to polish an entire hood with this?

Can you please explain how a smaller pad size in rotary mode is safer? I'm a newbie and am confused about this. Thanks in advance!
Sure! Simply put - it comes down to edge velocity. The bigger the pad gets the faster the outside edge is traveling, and thus the more aggressive it is. The inverse is true, so as a pad gets smaller the outside edge of the pad travels at a lower velocity and thus carries less risk.
This is true of any tool movement where the rotation is driven (rotary or gear driven orbital polisher). When you get into random orbital movements the rule goes the other way. The smaller the pad the more aggressive it is, the larger it is the less aggressive it is (all other factors such as tool speed and stroke length being equal)

ive just got the nano, and the 50% or less compression of the foam pad rule, does that count for the yellow, gray, white and so on, or does it count for all of them?
Once the pads reach operating temperature, yes... aim for the 50% compression of the foam.
Is it advisable to use the sanding disc starting with 3k to level a small paint chip using one or 2 quick passes?
Thanks for watching! Yes - using the vinyl plate, 3mm attachment, and adhesive sanding discs that come in the kit to knock down touchup paint is doable. Just make sure that the paint is fully cured and the prep was done correctly to avoid the abrasive peeling off that touchup blob.
Which one is best for motocycle polishing? Long or short neck?
Long in most cases. The additional length allows you to reach into areas on some motorcycles that would be hard to reach with the shirt neck or other tools.

How do you know which ibrid to purchase...long vs short neck?
I just unbox mine a few hours ago,can you tell me if its safe to have the batery into the machine if i dont use it for a few days or is it better to keep it off on that situation?
Congratulations on purchasing an iBrid Nano. If you're going to store the tool for a few days you do not have to worry about removing the battery. Just make sure the speed control dial is set to the OFF position to avoid accidental activation. If you plan to store for longer than that (weeks or a month) it is probably a good idea to remove the battery and store it with the battery cap that came in your kit.

Still at trying to remove the head and after roughly a hour I’ve come to the realization that the stop on top is not working and the unit is defective unfortunately..

Hello Rupes! Just bought the Nano and love it. Question-the blue piece that threads the backing plate onto the 3mm functional unit has separated from its base. Is this normal? I just started using it today. Thank you!

The tool in the video you just commented on is a cordless (or corded) dual action (or rotary) polisher. Beyond that we do not comment on product development.
I just got this and I thought something was wrong with it, Not sure what is going on, but why do I have to hold the trigger down so hard to keep it going, and it still will stop. Only worked with the Rotary portion. Is mine defective?

My problem with this polisher is, at some speed dial positions (for example 2) speed is surging up and down, not stay stable. Don’t know why. Anyone experiencing this? Regards.

It's a good tool, but the batteries are crap. I had one of the two out of my kit die 3 weeks past the 1 year old date. The disappointing part, was I never received a return call or email when I tried to reach out for assistance. I've never had a battery crash on any cordless tool like that.

Si consulta el manual del propietario, como se indica, una luz roja intermitente indica que puede haber una falla en la batería. Rojo constante significa que la batería se está cargando. Si cree que tiene un producto defectuoso o dañado, comuníquese con el distribuidor al que le compró el producto. Gracias.
