- This is a complete new drug review of Paxlovid, an oral antiviral agent used to treat COVID-19. A visual explanation of the drug’s mechanism of action as a protease inhibitor will be shown. The restrictions placed on this new drug due to its emergency use authorization will be outlined. Results of the EPIC-HR study will be discussed and evaluated to determine how effective Paxlovid is against Covid-19. I was prescribed this about 3 weeks ago with excellent results except for very bitter after taste which didn’t go away until about 36 hours after last dose.
This medication has just saved my life. Yes the aftertaste was prevalent, but a small price to pay and kept me out of hospital.👍

I just started paxlovid 30 mins ago (evening dosage). I hope this helps me because my Covid-19 symptoms are horrendous. I will check back and let you guys know the effectiveness. Also, It was free through CVS pharmacy. Good luck to everyone! ❤

I started last night , done with second dose , lost my sense of smell and taste after the second dose - and feeling very depressed. Am on my third day of Covid + , fyi I have asthma too.

I started paxlovid on day three of symptoms. I noticed less inflammation in my sinus within an hour. All the body aches and chills were also gone. Giving me a chance to finally sleep. It did give me diarrhea. I ate Greek yogurt before the next any further doses and it helped. I’ve done four doses so far and feel much better. I do have drainage remaining but that’s manageable.
Can you do a video of Paxloid as a possible treatment for long covid?

I think the one on one therapy is less toxic and does cover more than 5 days. I extended to 7 or 8. With a negative test result. These are very potent antivirals.
You may experience a little stomach upset. I think thumbs up. Vaccine therapy is good to look at.
How much does it cost for a full treatment?
Just took my first dose and have a 102 fever. Can I take advil with Paxlovid to deal with the fever and body aches?
This is my third day taking Paxlovid of my 5 day prescription..my first dose was evening..after some hours, i tasted bitter and it last for hours before i took the second dose the following morning..i hope it's just the bitter taste side effective and after 5 days, Covid19 will be gone ..

It is my understanding that this drug has emergency use authorization in high risk groups for covid treatment.
Hi Joe! Yes. Pfizer stopped their study looking at the use of Paxlovid in relatively healthy patients who are at low risk for hospitalization and death because the drug did not show any benefits in this group. Paxlovid is best to be used in high risk groups as you stated.

And was given paxlovid, because I have stage one emphysema, I had covid for 8 days, then was completely better

One of the downsides is a sore tongue. I have had a sore tongue for 2 months. I would never take it again. Leave the experiments to mice, thank you.
Rebound Effect: when you stop the drug, Covid comes back worse, YEAH!
Folks are having issues with this drug. 🤷🏻♀️
