Another great video of short line railroads. Switching on jointed rail, wobbly cars, creaks and groans, squeals. All music to my ears. Gondolas all beat to shit. Awesome. I like all the patched over covered hoppers. That is signs of the times in railroads.
90K when you filmed it and now 308K! These older videos take me to places I haven’t seen in your more recent videos. Enjoyed the greenery in my December 2023 brown world here in Montana. You keep telling me to watch another video! I can only stay awake so long!!
Hi Brian For people like me who work 80 hours a week we do not have the time to go out and video our local railroads. That is why we appreciate the effort you make to make these very interesting railroad videos and share them on UA-cam. Just a note of thanks!
Love the squeal of long gondolas on tight bends -and the WELL used and abused look of the pig iron trucks ! You did well with both sides of the same train Jawtooth ! Grain trains seem to be majestic -just gliding along with hardly any noise ! That's one LOOK at me horn on the lead loco too .Jawtooths back -dispite the difficulties - be aware !!! Regards
Smitty SF-3751 Yes great weeds (scenery) and beautiful textured rails (rusted) and slow moving train, and a beautiful day. Great video, have a great evening.
Now this is a truly awesome video Jaw Tooth! That train going under that bridge makes this video a #1 for sure! Very nice view of the long train with gondola and grain cars. I don't know why, but I've always liked bridges. The paint scheme on them three EMDs look really good! Awesome Jaw Tooth!
@@JawToothyou're welcome Jaw Tooth! I accidentally deleted on of my comments earlier on one of your videos. If I can find it, I will leave another comment. My phone is not working right cause I dropped it on the concrete at my parents house.

Not scrap. Pig iron is the first stage of iron production from ore. Most of it gets converted to steel but, in most places, the steel mill is on the same site as the blast furnace, so the pig iron is transferred molten.

Hey Jaw Tooth thank you for making me feel special! We all like to think of ourselves as one in a million. Since I already subscribed to your channel I see that I am well on my way as I am now one in 900,000. :)
As of January 2020, they had one SD45 (#9400). Looks like that's the only one they've owned recently, unless JT, you're telling us you filmed more than one. IORY also has a couple of SD50s. www.thedieselshop.us/IO.HTML (I have no affiliation with that site but they seem to have roster lists for pretty much every railroad in North America).
It's a close second to covered hoppers, but gon's are the step-child of railroad rolling stock: battered, bedraggled, beat up, bent, misused and abused. Must be a large iron works operation with that many gon's in the opening consist. Did notice a Southern Pacific gon. Who'dathunk that would be a catch, at least to me. As some other folks have mentioned, what could've been a tanker consist passing in the background. Decent yard. Queensgate sounds like it should be in London.
Was wondering how that flood wall worked if there was a hole in it. Has swinging gates (not easy to make out in the video) just like you'd find at a lock.
HEY JAWTOOTH... i seen something you need to check out some time go to adm in frankfort indiana... they have a shuttle that looks like nothing ive seen before
Nice video Brian. en some good news from Tony, they have stopped the Corona lock down at last.i go visit here saturday noon.i say hello from you and yor familie.have a nice weekend.greetz:Peer.
Other than that this is an excellent video! :D I noticed the train of oil tank cars on the railway bridge behind the long string of cars being pulled out in the background, I'm surprised Jaw Tooth didn't see that! :D
That is a complicated junction. There is an X where the track crosses over the track where this train came off. So, the signal at that Control Point has to be linked to all the other signals. If a train is on that track, all the other signals need to be red because the tracks are all either connected or cross over the other tracks. I wonder how they originally came to be like that ? Must have been 1 track and over time they added more spurs ?
I don't know but I was hoping to film a train crossing at that diamond. I left about 30 minutes too soon. One of these days I will film one crossing it. That is a cool location but it is a little sketchy and I don't like to hang out there very long. Thanks for watching!
@@JawTooth A drone would be great to catch the action at the diamond and give an overview of the whole layout and how the movements work through the spurs. The silver signal right next to you at the beginning of the video, that looks like it is for the closest track that is all rusty and has the de-railer

The signal equipment looks pretty new but the track it appears to be signaling for is full of weeds and has an active derail set ! ? The top of the rail appears to be shiny though ! ?
"And there's more" ... yes there always is, but this is the first time that there is more twice in one video. BTW, that railway worker who was hanging on the back of the train on the first sequence was not on there on the second one when you were filming the other side of the same train. Had he fallen off or did they find him a seat on the train?
How many of the small railroads in your area are operations of Gennesse and Wyoming? The company I used to work for did some hauling for them near Greenville, SC a couple of years ago.
Interesting. They have a nice new CSX signal, which I imagine is a control point, controlled by dispatch, on a spur, or siding that is rarely used, that has the de-railer on it. But I don't see a signal for the track the CIND is on. Is the signal further back, behind the bridge ?
The old signals were really cool. They had old B&O dwarf signals at the curved bridge there. I have a video with them getting knocked down. I don't think the CIND spur has a signal but it has that derail. Other signals were to my left in the distance for the 4 tracks
wobbly locos on uneven rusty track. rusted out freight cars. overgrown weeds. that's a real railroad.
Typical I&O
I got lucky to catch this coming off that dead end spur. They only have the one customer on that track. Thanks for watching!
