I Just Thought Of Something Can You Imagine If Beetlejuice And Ghostbusters Did a Crossover That Would Be Great Or Maybe With The Addams Family Since They Just Mentioned Anjelica Huston.
Actually, Beetlejuice does kill two people in the movie. The two guests that got shot out of the house with the hammer stroke game during Beetlejuice entering for the wedding.
Also the part where the tree falls over due to Beetlejuice kicking it, it was an accident since it wasn’t secured properly and the ‘Nice Fuckin’ Model’ was a jab at the Set director.
I don’t see how you can say that was a jab at the set director. It could have been. But he’s in charter and he’s in the model of the town. If it was a jab at the set director, he could have said “set”.
Beetlejuice was the perfect example of how sometimes, the Universe just aligns perfectly to get all the right people together at the right time in the right place in history, and we are lucky enough to see that it got filmed. Just perfect.
I like that the afterlife waiting room says "No Exit" over the door...it's a reference to a play called "No Exit" by Jean-Paul Sartre, about three people stuck together in a room in Hell ("Hell is other people").
Another fun fact is that Barbara originally lost her arm when she died and I believe would have spent the rest of the film with only one arm. They do briefly hint at her losing her arm in a scene after they wake up from the car crash where she mentions her arm hurts.
@9:12 Beetlejuice also has 3 watches on his wrist. Since Tim Burton has always been into the spooky and supernatural stuff, the number 3 was used as a reference to the supernatural nature of the Maitland's situation and of Beetlejuice as an unholy entity.
"...I'll eat anything you want me to eat, I'll swallow anything you want me to swallow, so come on down....I'LL CHEW ON A DAWG!..." Where did THIS come from?
The inspiration for the sequence was an real used car salesman whose commercials included doing crazy things to entice customers. Keaton's ad-libs just kicked the gag up to 11.
@@strawberryhellcat4738 in the Detroit area, there was this animated commercial for a dealership of a man and his Dawg, so I always connected it with this phrase, which made it funnier to me!
Just finished watching the new one yesterday morning. And it was well worth the wait. Keaton does a solid job at playing this character 👏 id give an award to him. It was pretty cool to see some of the oringinal cast from the first one. The swearing seemed kinda outta place lol the movie was going in a really good direction til all that jazz.
Great, interesting list. A Tropical Beetlejuice movie wasn't even necessary, the animated series did a similar episode, alongside a lot of other potential concepts.
I knew Glenn Shaddux. Loved his role in the OG. There was NO movie that my wife and i saw (we were dating at the time) as many times as we saw "Beetlejuice". We saw ourselves as "that" couple that would think heaven was just being alone with each other forever, like The Miaitlands. Such a great time in our lives, and we love the new one too!
I think Beetlejuice gets a raw deal… he held up his end of the bargain and still gets cast away like he’s little more than an inconvenience Though there IS a slight, teensy-weensy, itty-bitty age difference between he and Lydia… prolly for the best now that I think about it
The Animated Series is pretty damn good too ...even working within the limitations of a Saturday Morning Cartoon. (Less crotch grabbing and f-bombs for the kiddies. 🤭🤣)
Um actually (sorry I had to 😂)... The house has a basement that is briefly seen before the accident, it's where ha goes to look for a brush for the tongue oil. So, including the attic, the house has 4 floors, not three.
Actually Beetlejuice does kill in the movie two people actually. those being Charlie's boss Maxie Dean and his wife. using them as high striker game launching them through the ceiling i highly doubt they survived that.
"For some reason, known only to Tim Burton, the number 3 has a special significance in this universe" Are you kidding me? Three is the most common 'magical number' there is. Sheesh 🧐
@@DefinitelyNOTWilliamAfton No, they are confirmed kills. Look up Beetlejuice kill count and everyone who died in the movie is listed and how and by who.
does anybody remember Beetlejuice cartoon use comes on abc 7 on Saturday mornings then the reruns used air on fox kids channel 5 everyday afternoon I used to watch it back in the 90s
I wonder if the 'rule of 3' thing is a nod to Wizard of Oz? Some parts of the movie give a goth-style Wizard of Oz vibe. And that also makes me wonder if Sheldon Cooper's OCD knock is a nod to Beetlejuice. I'm probably over analyzing it. My favorite scene is still the 'ball-honk'.
The reason for 3: "We all know the father, the son, and the holy spirit. The number 3 is symbolic of this fact. This is why it was chosen for the film." It wasn't that hard to find the reason behind Burton's choice and reasoning.
I think it's true she looks so much like the beautiful ethereal actress known as Lisa Marie(I believe) who was a long-time love of Burton she was in many of his films like Mars Attacks, Big Fish and Sleepy Hollow where she does an amazing job as Ichabods mother. You must see her hilarious performance though in Mars Attacks she's a sexy alien.
I have seen the sequel twice already (thanks to local advance screenings hosted by WB Pictures) and Keaton falls back into the the role effortlessly. He still has that high energy he's known for, now at 72 years old.
Actually, Beetlejuice does kill two people in the movie. The two guests that got shot out of the house with the hammer stroke game during Beetlejuice entering for the wedding.
Three is for Holy Trinity, Father, son and holy Ghost. It has other religious meanings too but maybe he was incorporating that into his version of an afterlife?

that's would be so freaking awesome Ghostbusters meet Beetlejuice kinda like Scooby-Doo meets Batman cool 😎
The movie Betelgeuse, like the Exorcist gets funnier every time I see it 😅. Thanks 👍🏻😊
12:11 YOU LITERALLY JUST SAID “the movie is filled with 3’s” so why would the name being spelled THREE WAYS be a mistake? 🤔

I can't picture anyone else playing Beetlejuice. Keaton was the best choice
Peter Sellers would’ve been a great choice for Blake Edwards’ version of the movie back in ‘79.
The neck movements and head bobs smh. KEATON was and is the ONLY choice!

This is Michael Keaton's favorite film of his own.
Thank god Tim Burton was busy with Batman because Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian sounds terrible! 😂
Yeah, plus the animated series ended up doing an episode on those similar lines, therefore making that movie idea completely unnecessary.
It would’ve worked itself out probably.
I heard that was submitted by burton because he didn’t want to make a sequel .. but could be fake news
At 0:52 now that’s ironic with a hint of foreshadowing
That could maybe work if tim had better idea for script
Beetlejuice is a masterpiece that never gets old, the Day-o sang is my most favorite part
Michael Keaton is definitely Beetlejuice 😊
Unfortunately they’ll have to find a New Actor someday. Too much time was squandered!

That is true, and she does mention to Adam when they return to their house that "my arm feels numb".
The throwaway line about having fun during the Black Death is hilarious, considering what we know now.
I'm so glad Kirstie Alley couldn't make the movie. She wouldn't have been able to do it justice like Geena Davis.
My mom laughed so hard during the Calypso scene that she had a little accident in her pants. 😅
