Hello and welcome to Hill Top Terebi! For the first time in a long time, here is a video that is not about Sonic The Hedgehog. Instead, it’s about another Sonic Team developed game: Nights Into Dreams.
Nights released on the Sega Saturn in 1996 and told the story of two kids, Elliot and Claris, who would enter a dream world and with the help on Nights, would fight the evil Wiseman the Wicked and his minion ‘Nightmares’.
Despite this game coming from my favourite developer and dropping to rave reviews back in the day it never made its way into my Sega Saturn library. Why though? Find out in the video, where I will discuss my history with Nights and also review the 2012 Xbox 360 versions.

Well I think of nights is the best game ever me and my sister played nights journey of dreams so we searched for more nights games and there's the nights into dreams and we played the game and we loved it🌌✨️🌠🌟
in my opinion its a good game but to beat it is just stupid like DO I HAVE TO REALY GET RANK C IN ALL STAGES OF WHO I PLAY!?!?!?
The first time I played Nights was on my PS3. The reason is that the only time I saw a Saturn was in a shop, when one of my grandmas bought me Sonic 3D for the Mega Drive. Back then I didn´t realised that this was Segas new machine. I overlooked even the Dreamcast because everybody was talking only N 64 vs Playstation 1 / 2. When I heared that Sega has stoped to be in the console wars, then I realised how many games I missed. That´s why I´m very happy to get every Saturn/ Dreamcast game that is released on the Playstation family.
How did you overlook the Dreamcast it was so much cooler than the N64 and even the PS1 it's wild. Better graphics, online functionality, VMUs, beautiful aesthetic. PS2 was the only real competitor to Dreamcast, due primarily to its DVD functionality. No one I knew cared about Xbox ever. I think that console was more popular with early PC gamers at the time who liked darker, more serious content.
I owned a Saturn and this was my favorite game on it. My brother and I spent hours figuring out level lay outs, fastest way to get through them, etc. The first time we found out how to get an A rating, my brother was so excited that he head butted my knee (both regretted that decision). If you ace each level and boss, the sound track for the ending changes. We preferred the child version of Dreams Dreams, just comes off as more pure and less 90’s love song.
Pro tip: once you've destroyed the capture, you can choose to fly _over_ the altar instead of through it, which will cause you to start a new lap on the same course instead of banking your score and advancing to the next course. This is _critical_ for getting high scores, since you're not only staying in the course for longer but also staying in the score-doubling "Bonus Time" state (where the Blue Chips are colored yellow) for longer, since advancing to the next course in the stage will revert your scoring back to normal.
NiGHTS is my absolute favorite game franchise! Sure there's only two games not counting Christmas NiGHTS but they both hold up so very well in my opinion
NiGHTS is a very underrated video game character that SEGA overlooks to be honest.
personally, if nights should ever have a future game, it would be awesome as a flying vr game

While Yuji Naka and Hirokazu Yasuhara worked on Sonic 2, 3 and Knuckles, technically they were all developed by Sega Technical Institue led by Mark Cerny which they were part of while working in America, plus Naoto Ohshima the last member of the big three of Sonic Team was back in Japan working with a seperate team on Sonic CD

I never had a Saturn due to a lack of Sonic and that NiGHTS was visually off-putting to me, for the same reasons you described. I had Journey of Dreams on Wii but was unimpressed, but I finally played NiGHTS into Dreams... in 2020. I thought it was good but not outstanding, until I realized I was playing it wrong. The fun of into Dreams... is trying to get to bonus time as soon as you can--once you go into bonus time, DO NOT head for the goal. Avoid it. With bonus time your points are doubled and the time limit holds no bearing on your scores. So what happens is you have this risk vs reward of "How many points can I get and make it back to the goal before time expires?"
I think this is the reason why your scores were so low. Go back and try it out. ShayMay described it better than I am--it's how I realized I wasn't playing NiGHTS to its fullest. I think you'll have an even better time. It becomes insanely fun.

Good- And yes do the sequel, Journey of Dreams which is somehow disappointing and not disappointing at the same time. /j (It was just an interesting take I guess on the NiGHTS concept. Very modernized. Sonic 06 version of NiGHTS if you will. A reboot.)

@@HillTopTerebi I haven't played it but Shaymay did a very good video on it. It's far from "unplayable". Disappointing and unplayable are very different. Uncanny Xmen on the NES is unplayable...
