I just purchased one of these and nowhere i could find a video that explains it as well as yours, thanks now i know where to plug it and what to do with it , thanks
Thanks. I have two or three more that I’m filming this weekend, tyre pressure sensor setting, sports dash changing (with the track view…) and the turn signal light options. Hopefully they’ll be up on the channel a few days later.
This reader is a good idea to carry on the road/track, Andre. It might save you a few days in case of trouble. Besides this device gives you the good feeling of being in charge ;-) Gotta wash the Transalp from last weekend now, cheerio, Günter/Nürnberg
Yup, though it only helps with the diagnosis… I suspect I’ll still have to visit a dealer from time to time for a fix. Glad to hear the Transalp is getting muddy! Winter is over 😁
Thanks Luthor, and yes, all well. ‘Behind with my videos, but that’s the price of working full time for a few months to catch up after taking a break from everything for a few months.
Nice video Andre. I have one of these and I think it's a must have if you own a BMW. I used mine a few weeks ago to cycle the ABS pump when I flushed the brake fluid. BTW, a Snap On ratcheting screwdriver is an ideal tool for BMW bodywork.
The brake fault codes are due to the abs not active when the bike has not moved after starting the bike. I don't think you need to clear them. Think does the same for the traction control.
Can we use this gs 911 obd 2 for a 2016 bmw s1000rr which has a round pin connector using a female connector? Does the software recognize a 2016 bike? *Pls help*
Hi, I think that’s a question for HexInnovate. I’m pretty sure it is as I think they cover bikes back 20+ years. They also do two versions of the device, one has the round connector.
It'd be worth taking some screen grabs of the errors, then fully clearing the codes and going for a bit of a ride, then checking again. I find on my truck when I have an error it's normally one thing that I have that sets off all the others. Could have been the previous fix that set them all off.
Yup. Will do. I’ll also try the window application on my laptop, as I think that does more and tells more than the mobile app. I’ll bring it to TN if you want the fortune of you SKRR telling!
I’ve got to buy one of these, my 2018 1200 gsa is currently in limp mode, exhaust flap partially seized, I’ve now freed it and lubed with copper grease, hopefully the gs-911 will clear the fault code, I understand I can use this with my iPhone 15 and it’s personal hotspot , I don’t have home WiFi anymore, I have to say I’m getting sick of this bike🤨
@@PeakMotorcycles we spend more time researching on UA-cam how to fix the bikes than riding them, it always about WiFi connectivity and diagnostics research 🥲 I’ve had a good summer on my k5 Gsxr 1000 and it reminded me why I ride!!, I’ll never have another bmw, how they can call these touring bikes baffles me🤷
It would be super useful if you could get a device like this for every bike. Should be standard equipment on every new bike, but, the dealer network is probably against it.
I guess the ODB readers tell you a few things, but not like this. As for the dealer networks, I’m sure they make good money out of diagnostics… (I heard that some BMW dealers use these units too… )
It’s Wi-Fi, but doesn’t need to be run through your WiFi router. Your phone connects directly to the GS911 as if it was the router. Same as how Wi-Fi works on GoPros.
@@PeakMotorcycles maybe that’s a language thing, That’s usually called Bluetooth across the pond. But happy to here I can connect my phone to it in the field, away from my house and computer…, their website doesn’t do a great job of explaining that either
🤣. If it’s just the dash, then yes. If it’s checking what the light means, which saves you a trip to the dealer, or you know it’s just the sticking exhaust flap, then it can be quite useful. Particularly if you’re travelling and the nearest dealer is a few days, weeks or countries away. I find that after a rally event, I have all sorts of warnings from when the bikes been on its side or had an ABS rotor clogged with mud. To clean it off, and then check all the diagnostics from home is a lot easier than making an appointment at my nearest dealer which is an hour away.
Are you sure? There are instructions on the website for Mac www.hexgs911.com/software-downloads/ it uses a web browser so I don’t think it’s OS dependent at all. It even works with Linux. May I ask why you think it doesn’t work with a Mac?
You are lucky indeed! Though I guess it has electronic fuel injection and ABS (at least?) so I’m sure a Yamaha dealer has something similar, though it doesn’t have quite as many things to check, or to go wrong. This is a good thing!
🤣 quite a few bikes have can buses these days, and all have the same thing with unexplained warning lights, but yes, simpler bikes don’t need it. What do you ride?
@@PeakMotorcycles hi, of course not, I understand diagnostics, but many are being ripped off. And or simply don't have a clue, thankyou for your comment though, paul.

Thanks Paul, and yes, I should get a T25 with a better handle (though those pivoting wrenches are pretty good and don’t take up much space)
Do you know about the function to unlock the adjustment in motion (while riding) of ESA (min, max, auto)

@@PeakMotorcycles Thanks mate🤝
@harvmonkey1 they currently have an offer on for a free round connector adapter. It was for Father’s Day I think.
A GS911 can remove the RPM limiter?? Can unlock it.
Unknown I’m afraid. I expect their support team could confirm if it’s not in the documentation. Might be bike specific too (the features usually are)
Did you have to set up a wi-Fi hotspot or just use the app?
I connected my phone to the GS-911 as the WiFi access point and was able to operate it that way. Does that make sense?

The exhaust flap thing is stupid… I’m getting occasional errors on my ‘20 1250 and I’m nearly at the point of disconnecting the servo.
