No not really, I mostly blast down towards the item……you won’t often be blasting directly at the inside of the cabinet. Trust me, take his advice and paint it white.
FIBERGLASS RESIN PANELS FRP can be found on the walls of some commercial/ public bathrooms. Easy as hell to work with. And that solves the deteriorating paint issue.
Very nicely built. Install a foot activator for the air pressure and you will love how that works so well. The media blasting only happens when you press the foot valve. Thumbs Up!
Also a cyclonic separator between the cabinet and vacuum cleaner will make the bag last a lot longer. You can get cheap cyclones online and mount them to the lid of a bucket.
@@mememaster147 If you notice, the setup here is a bit different, as only the fine airborne dust that will fit through the airfilter mounted on the top inside of the cabinet will pass - the rest goes in the bucket. Otherwise I completely agree, cyclones are fabulous inventions, and he might get tired of cleaning and changing the filter. In my experience, the blastcabins that work the best have a fairly large amount of air passing through, where a cyclone would be an absolute must.
Ingenuity! I like how you have used scrap bits to achieve the build. What about making it with water and sand? I like how you thought of the jean sleeves and garden gloves. Thinking outside the box! Well done!
Bravo.......had old freind...... own a vw junkyard......the back end of a van cut off.....blast on top side.....the sand would fall into engine compartment.....greatest design.....cheers
That was fun to watch. Respect for your work. But what about electro static charging while sandblasting? Maybe check this out to prevent static shocks as there will be a charge building up when blasting.
Great video, your blaster works better then my store bought blaster. I'm going to try the filter I on the vacuum side on my cabinet. I tried it with no filter and all it does is suck up all my media.
Not sure why you would say genius. He did a nice job on the cabinet but lets face it most of us could if we tried. A genius would be doing stuff we can't do.
Nice cabinet ! It needs more volume for the exhaust vacuum to clear the dust out. Ad more ports with multiple hoses connected to the single vacuum though it may need a larger vacuum.
@@LifehackInspector If you can swing the money get a woodworking vacuum with a cloth bag. That little filter you have on the inside will clog up quickly
@@LifehackInspector I would advise you forget the idea of a vacuum for dust extraction and add a filterbox with a large fan The main issue is that Vacuums work on pressure mainly, rather than flow rate, You need to compare the extraction CFM (Cubic feet per minute) to what it is fighting against - Your air compressor's flow output at whatever PSI you are using for the blaster
Built mine from a 55 gallon drum & some thick glass salvaged from a tv cabinet I've had mine years still going strong. i bet its like desert storm useing a pressure pot inside that 😂
Im over here going "oh looks like a fun idea......but what was that song in the car at the begining??!?!?" Edit: Just finished the vid. Thumbs up that was a fun build watch!
Not a bad project if you have the time and space . Nice large door on the front but i would have made the glass area a bit bigger . Could easily be converted to a gravity fed media outlet on the base of the funnel save keep filling the pot . I was hoping as he painted it that it wasn't going to be red ... but alas lol
No means to demerit this guy's skill but I'm still trying to figure out what in building your own sandblasting cabinet makes you a genius. But still, as I said, nicely done, works just fine and quoting someone else below, install a foot activator for the air pressure and it will upgrade greatly the efficiency of your cabinet. Regards.
Why not accumulated from the bottom to pull sandblast medium down, otherwise it stays in the air and after a while will make it hard to see as shown in the video
It's very doubtfull that will ever be a concern - If he isn't blasting directly at the side walls from only an inch or 2 away he will not be abraiding it away -And if he ever does he will have got decades out of the cab, enough to justify a better purchase
Paint the inside White, that will make it a lot brighter in there.
Yes, but the work surface inside will quickly be erased(
No not really, I mostly blast down towards the item……you won’t often be blasting directly at the inside of the cabinet.
Trust me, take his advice and paint it white.
You can better cover it with self adhesive white plastic. This is not vulnerable for abrasive medium.
Outstanding job.

This guy needs his own show on discovery, i mean the creativity with those gloves was truly impressive! Awesome build.
I know right? I like the idea as the denim is strong and gloves replace able.

Great project but it is surpassed by the absolutely incredible video editing and storytelling.
Thank you very much, I tried!
That grinder cut in slow motion was so dramatic, love it!:) Great skills and imagination, my friend, cheers!
The best editing award goes to Idea Hub!
Gênio! Um verdadeiro Einstein 🧑🎓🧑🔬🧑🏫
Man, what a brilliant job on the build, has given me a few ideas of my own actually! Well done 👍👍
Like the way it opened up, small glass, cool way to go.
You deserve a subscription. Utilising what could end up as waste is very impressive. Cheers from Australia.
Great skill for nice finished product, very well done, a pleasure to watch, thanks for sharing.

impressive work.... not for the average DIY'er, but still, very well!
Nice editing - Frugal costs ---- Well done! old git, UK
Nicely done. You'll get a lot of use out of that project.
Thanks for the kind words

That’s freakin impressive 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
How did u come up with such a brilliant idea?? Why noone else havent thought about it all theese years?? WOW!!
Hola amigo, me encanto tu video. Te felicito, mi admiración y respeto. Saludos de “AZTECA KNIVES” desde Ecatepec, México 🇲🇽
Great project. A lot of time and planning, design involved.
That was very well made good craftsmanship. Dope af
This is inspiring. Fantastic work and video editing.
Amazing, thank you for showing me why I should just buy one :D

Excelente !!! ... muy buen trabajo ... realmente inspira a copiarlo. Un abrazo desde San Luis, Argentina
Hola Argentina desde Ucrania!
Very good project, I'm interested in how much pressure you have for sandblasting
Nice project👍
Great video! Thanks for sharing this
Very nice work
Great work.
If you tape a piece of plastic film to the inside of the glass it'll save having to replace the glass when it gets frosted up. Just replace the film.

Very nice. Now I know what I’m going to build with an old clothes dryer I’ve got. Thank you
Great! Good luck!)

Very nice
Looks good on the GD. I would call it hyper swamp.
Awesome build👍
Thanks 👍
Fantastic work, sir! Subscribed!
thank you sir:)

you're right
I'm not a genius, it's just UA-cam rules :)
He is driving Skoda Octavia mk2
That just screams genius !
Absolut Mega. Deutsche Qualität, kein minderwertiger Scheiß „Made in China“. So einen Sandstrahler hätte ich auch gerne.
Gruß aus Belgien
Impressive build and great video. I'm subbed
Thank you!

Thank you! And the song in the car was "Rammstein - America"💪
das ist sehr gut danke
Very impressive. !00%
Awesome!
Outstanding
That's pretty
Great stuff, well done, give me a few ideas for mine
Thank you friend
Need to get some type of industrial suction for long term, hoovered up silica after a sandblaster and it killed hoover in 2 days lol
For some the sawzall is king for this man the angle grinder holds that crown.
ahahahah)))
man I love it when people repurpose sh*t and build something else
The perfectly good tank 😫

Great idea
Simplemente Exelente 😊
Great job! I would be interested in learning more about the gloves. Are the holding up?
you need to earth bond to a spike or main earthing point due to the static build
Now I know why I receive little discharges when sandblasting. I thought it was the vacuum cleaner!

Great project 👍 Please, what is the center hole at the right side for ? Congratulations from Brazil.
The gloves and sleeves better be really heavy durable material in any case. Even the heavy rubber ones get blasted thin eventually.

You also could've added rubber padding inside so sand wouldn't damage walls over time

I was thinking double doors to cut down on the wide swing? thanks for the content
The issue then is that you need to deal with sealing the seam between the doors - this is why many hung either the front down or the top up
@@bengrogan9710 I see that makes sense, thanks again for the content.
what compressor you have? specs?
❤
What blast media are you using? Real sand?
Good edition, put ASMR to ger more views
What with that Kettel? Do you workout?
Someone's been watching Edgar wright movies
„This man is a genius!” „He made a sandblaster from old bottle like half of the world did multiple tomes!”
Well i live on a scrapyard have lots of tools and time on my hands.
Could rather buy this contraption on craigslist for reasonable price.
👍🏻👍🏻😊😁
Am I crazy, or could you by a harbor freight sandblasting cabinet for way less than the cost of these materials?
Should have had it so it auto feeds back into the red tub from the bottom.
amazing skills , but really with how cheaply priced everything is today , not worth building a blast cabinet
0:25 what music is it, please?
edit, 0:38 too!
And in the next episode I'm building a bigger compressor :-D
👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏
