Hello! I just found your channel and this is exactly what I have been thinking about for years. Hope work is proceeding. I'm really looking forward to the next episode.
I so need to see this finished, great engineering skill man,im a 50yr old mechanic from the uk,awesome work on great car,not sure i Would gone with a subaru power plant ,look forward to the next update,
Thank you, luckily I am no Sumo wrestler at 5'9"! Most of the cabin intrusion is between the seats but I am willing to compromise a little space to experience this thing under full throttle.
Great job man! All my respects. I will operate a engine swap to my montecarlo with a supercharged Lancia engine one day, so now i'm taking a lot of nice tips from your videos. When it comes to the braking, i might have some suggestion for your pedal box, if you like. Marco
Thanks for the comment, I am going to route the exhausts through the frame pass-throughs. Right now they are large enough to accept the stock catalytic converters and have some space for corner gussets with an air gap all around. I worked at over-engineering the rear frame structure to perhaps buy me some extra empty space to route stuff like pipework as I am going to lower the suspension a fair bit. I do understand the need to have a strong structure boxing the engine/transaxle/suspension area.
Exactly what I was thinking. If all the forces are strictly vertical then X crossmembers might not be necessary. This is a great question for Riven Motors to think through on some upcoming sleepless nights. We can look forward to his further musings on the topic.
Hey there, they didn't import too many in between 1976 and 1977. So they can be kind of hit or miss as not too many survived and those that have are either in bad shape or very good condition. Craigslist is the best way to find them it seems though some pop up on ebay too. What's up with the name "White Death-Finland" and the snow sniper pic?
Thanks a lot! I'll try and search some more there then. It's the name the Russians gave a famous Finnish sniper during the war, this guy: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simo_H%C3%A4yh%C3%A4

Thanks for the comment, Lee! Pulling my finger out to make the next video shortly.
Riven Motors no problem mate I had the 2.0 beta coupe but never had a monte Carlo, keep up the excellent work, great project to undertake
Makes me confident that a Subaru flat-4 (for those, like me, who have "more modest" power needs) would fit even better!
Most definitely!
Ok good job Lil brother 👍
Thanks Rand! You've given me a ton of inspiration and knowledge from the fine example you set!
Dude, much respect for you.
Thanks, I appreciate it!
nice work pace
Good going so far! It's a tight fit. Hope you don't have to compromise legroom too much with moving the firewall.

Thank you for the kind words, Marco! Yes please, share any pedal box suggestions you have.
are you gonna put some X crossmembers between those 2 rectangles you created right between the gearbox?

Sweet! So what you're saying is I can jump this car recreating the chase scenes from "Bullitt"? Streets of San Francisco here I come!
How much are these Montecarlo's in the US? I'm looking for one

Wow neat history, thanks for the link! If I hear of any Scorpions/Montecarlos come up do you want me to email you?
I need a new dashboard for mine. It's crumbled to pieces : (
That seems to be a common occurrence, I am going to rebuild and modify mine with fiberglass. Get stuck in and have some fun with it!
