Today I watched about 10 versions of the Stones playing this song since the early 60s. I love that this one reinterprets it into a Spanish theme from the original Indian version. Mick is like a matador.

In this performance, Keith plays Brian's sitar part with a guitar of an unusual tone. Recently, Ronnie has played that part. Must be that "ancient form of weaving" that they do superbly.

It's been a while since the Stones have recorded anything memorable .We love them for what they represent in our lives.Some years ago, when the Stones came to Brazil, I saw both their gigs It struck me then that the reason we still take the old material so seriously is because Jagger takes it seriously himself. He sings each song like he’s just released the record last week and puts so much effort into each performance that you can’t help being seduced by his charisma. Like "Paint It Black" released on 7 May 1966 . I was 14

I went there on Friday evening. And also on Sunday evening. It was fabulous.
I am an old fan of Paris Saint Germain soccer team. And I'm proud that "my" stadium was also used for such fabulous events.

This was the first Stones song that really grabbed me as well as any Beatles song. I hadn't been much of a fan till then, but my "ear" is such that I prefer pieces that are written in a "minor" as opposed to "major" key. Those of you who "know" music and/or are musicians know "Black" couldn't be more "minor" sounding lol. I still love the tune!

we forget that the Over- versatile Brian Jones had written and played that intro on sitar. The newbie guys had to adapt. Brilliant of Keith.
The decision to add sitar to Paint It Black was made because of the success of Norwegian Wood by the Beatles a few months before.
It seems the Stones were always playing catch up with the Fab Four.
